- Nita Hamm is a single mother with disabilities who has an adult son with Down Syndrome and autism. His name is Joseph but he is known as JoJo by all his friends at Rigby High School. He is loved by so many in the community; in fact, anyone who gets to know Joseph cannot help but love him.
One of his greatest desires is to play basketball with the high school team. Even though that isn’t a reality, Coach Jones at Rigby High School plays basketball with JoJo on his lunch hour, gives him team shirts and lets him use a team bag like the other players. When there are away games, Coach Jones invites JoJo to ride along on the “big” bus, as JoJo calls it.
Nita works tirelessly in providing Joseph with the care that he needs, even though it hurts her body to move. He has Hirschsprung’s disease and requires demanding daily care.
They have enough money to meet their needs but cannot seem to save enough to buy other things like furniture for their front room. They have two old broken down rocker recliners that are not going to last much longer.

Yeah I love most all of these videos but there’s sometimes I think Naw…you could give them a little more there’s just a little bit more need than some people I don’t understand who makes this decision but this one wasn’t a good one , sorry can’t always agree
@@brenne8030 I think the decision will be based on the letter they receive so it’s really up to the person nominating to say just what situation they’re in. If they only make it seem like they need two chairs, they got the best two chairs. When they turned up there, they probably realised they could have done with more but the secret Santa money will have all been divided up by then and decisions made.
I agree, I said the same thing when they went to her front door......"a nice little cheque would be the icing on the cake".....but it was a lovely gift all the same.
You have to remember the amount 3 years ago was lower it has increased I believe every year from secret Santa

It is so sweet of Nate to try and make sure that the boy gets a super duper pair of shoes that he likes. You can see it when he tells again the mom. Gotta love his soul. Bless him.

What a sweet lady burdened indeed but full of love and gratitude for these gifts ,but think she could probably use some TLC and a pick me up and some help with her son, as she can't be that old ! And she's beautiful person inside and out but a make over would be a boost for sure 🙂☺😊🤗👍👍👌👌.So ty for your kindness and as the world is in turmiol lets all do our part to ease someone else's burdens rather that adding to theirs, it's really not that hard to do just put yourself in the other persons shoes and you feel and get joy out of it .🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹

I have a special needs son and let me tell you it is by far the biggest struggle a parent can have besides losing a child of course I couldn’t even comprehend that happening. But my hats off to this mom because she instantly wanted her son to know what he got. Bless this family lord.

Guys, i've watched a loooot of your videos, your really bring joy to some people...BUUUUUTTTT... Some peope really don't appreciate what you do for them... Some people deserve more and get less, others get less and deserve more...
When I see tears I cry as well. I'm no sensitive, I've been through hell and back a thousand times, but some people deserve and appreciate more a gift of ...dunno, 100-200 USD, and others don't give a damn about 2-3K you're spending...

No shit, it's always $10,000 here, $15,000 there or here have a new SUV; which is probably $25-30 grand.

Yeah I know how not having nice furniture can just suck. We just have a futon and it's broken, been working extra hours and next check I'll have enough to surprise my husband with a brand new nice sofa so he doesn't have to worry about it. I work for food and anything around the house, I've painted and put up really nice curtains and things on the walls but it will really feel complete with a real couch. he's paying the big bills and takes care of anything that breaks around here so I thought it would be a nice surprise. Can't wait.
I see a lot of comments on how they deserved more. I agree but there are so many.... Sorry I mean way too many people in her position that need help. It sucks to see good people not having what they need. But look at how happy she was just to receive so little. I guess I'm saying that be gracious for even the smallest of gifts you receive and not to want more.... Just like that mother was. Yes she and her son need sooooo much more but just look at the joy in her face. And also a message could be sent to all of those who comment about they should have gotten more. That message is that... Even if you have very little in your life.... There is others worse off than you. So even walking up to someone and giving a hug is and could be the biggest thing you could give to someone in need. Or even lending an ear to listen to someone that has no one to talk to and is lonely. We are all out there and need in different ways.

Maybe so but it's probably something she wouldn't spend the money on. When you're struggling comfort tends to take a back seat. I think it was a very nice gift. Sometimes it's nice to be treated to something you wouldn't be able to justify spending the extra money on. You have to make some tough decisions when you're on a limited budget.

I'm just seeing this now and although Secret Santa is an amazing individual I think maybe in this case cheaper chairs and a bit of cash would have been better. It seems like they need the help.

I watched the extended version of the Secret Santa giveaway where people were getting BRAND NEW CARS, $1000. gift cards for GROCERIES and Target and then checks for $10,000, $8000. etc. I was saddened and sickened when it came to her and what she got!! Two chairs and $100 gift card for shoes for her SPECIAL NEEDS SON. This woman is POOR!!! The joy I had been feeling for the other Secret Santa recipients vanished and I had to stop watching. They were so unfair to her!!!!! Don't want to watch your Secret Santa's anymore!!!
Can't help feeling bad for Joseph standing there while listening to how much his mother has missed out on because she was taking care of him.
In my humble opinion I think this family could have used more help than what was given to them.
