I LOVE THIS CUP. I can’t wait to make one! Oh and .... You can use a watercolor erasable colored pencil. The fibercastel and prismacolor brands work the best when it comes to fully dissolving the pigment in the pencil strokes with the paint!
WOW THE COLORS CAUGHT MY EYE BEAUTIFUL I WOULD have switched the purple and pink and the green and blue myself, just my personal preference ♡ to make blue and Purple dominant
Thank You! Yes I kept the colors this way because when I paint the other colors blend together and make the green and purple... so it just fit! To make certain colors dominant you can always do larger brush strokes :)
Lisa Waitt so sorry! I have a toddler and 2 teenagers so making videos is hard lol I do have a Turf Tutorial in the works though! I got my turner off Etsy it’s simplistic but works very well :)
Hello, I'm surprised to see your video. It's really perfect and beautiful. Your efforts are not in vain. I want to know where you bought the dye. Can you tell me the name of the dye or which brand or brand
This was very nice of you to show people this thanks for the share. Also if you don’t mind me asking how did you do the decal with making the name shadowed like that?
So I am confused (doesn’t take much..lol!) Did you draw the swirl on the opposite side? Probably a dumb question but I want to try doing one! Thanks for the video.
I do a few coats (about 3) of the paint because it really makes the colors pop! :) plus it helps make those mixes colors pop as well... the orange, green and purple are just made from the others overlapping :)
Great tutorial! I made one before and used a pencil to draw swirl also. Will not do that again either. I could still see it under the epoxy too. The highlighter is the perfect idea. Is there a size number on one the brush you used??
Chasati Lane The cup is covered in epoxy after the paint dries and the logo is vinyl which is a sticker and the epoxy seals it all so you can wash it! It is a hand wash only item though you wouldn’t want to put it in the dishwasher.
Courtney Rodriguez no need to spray seal acrylics so just epoxy right over it once it’s dry! Most likely you can do the second coat within an hour... the first coat just has to be dry first and acrylics dry pretty fast!
Okay so walk me through it. You sanded it? Then spray painted, added your design, then do you add your lettering? And after that how do you get it to look glossy? I’ve never made one of these and I’d love to try. I just need like a step by step of how to start and finish.
Kysa 2022 Yes sanded the stainless tumbler, then spray painted and used acrylics to paint the tie dye... after that a layer of epoxy, then vinyl, then another layer of epoxy... that is what gives the glossy finish!
Make sure you have a turner and that it’s level because the epoxy is self leveling and if your turner isn’t level it will create bumps... and then just thin layers :)
Patricia Cehrs Paint, epoxy, decal, epoxy :) the paint is a little bumpy and if you try and put the decal over it you will see every little bump in your vinyl :)
Kathy Sicuranza as you are painting the swirls if it goes off the edge on the bottom just paint the bottom a bit... I really was just winging it on the bottom because I figured it’s not the main focus of the cup. It’s not perfect but it’s painted so it kind of blends in! :)
Hey there! I got the turner on Etsy It came in pieces and I put it together. The name of the Etsy store was CraftloverByJinlong :) Hope this helps! I have also seen the same style I have for sale on Amazon!
I. Love. This. Video!!!! I have been so scared to start on a tumbler but this looks so amazing I have to try it!! What kind of spray paint did you use on your tumbler?? Thank you for sharing! Would love to see this one dried and sealed!!
Thank you Brooke! I just used Rustoleum 2x Primer + Paint! I just finished it up with decal and everything today! I also will be posting the final outcome on my Facebook page! facebook.com/MishellyCrafts
Hi Dorothy! I just did two coats of epoxy... one after the paint dried and then another after I put the decal on... I just posted the final result with decal and everything on Instagram and Facebook @mishellycrafts
Hey Chris! I started with Yellow then pink so they blend to make orange and then blue so the pink and blue make purple and where the blue and yellow meet it makes green :) So Yellow, Pink, Blue ❤️ :) Hope that helps!
Kerry Morris if you would like to see the finished cup I have it on my Facebook group @mishellycrafts or if you have questions about how I’d love to help! The area on the back (opposite of the swirl) is really just where I thought the swirl would end up if it was flat and wrapped around the cup! Like I’ve said before though... tie dye is super forgiving and so you can wing it! (I put the name over the “back” usually to cover any imperfections)
@@MissheliM ok thanks I will look at your face book...running out to Micheals to grab paint...I have got to give this a try...I Subscribed and gave this viedo a thumbs up
Dowona Nunley sorry it’s was my first try... I don’t know what was up with it because it didn’t sound bad on my end but with everyone saying that it’s scared me from making any more lol!! Guess I’ll stick with making cups 😂 I know how to do that! ❤️
Not a stupid question at all :) the answer is yes :) it’s a stainless steel tumbler so it is good for both hot or cold! The epoxy is only on the outside so the inside is still stainless.
Your cup is too cute, but the video was faint and not real crisp and clear. It was kind of hard to see all the details. (I'm a Gemini and need details!😜lol) and couldn't hear you very well with volume all the way up. I love tye dye and especially love the colors of the rainbow (idc what they're suppose to represent now) but this cup is soooooo pretty!!!❤❤❤❤❤
You had me at "channel your inner Bob Ross".💜
Oh my gosh I finally come across another Mishelle ❤ love the cup
This is the best tie dye tumbler I’ve seen. Got to try it.
Thanks so much Ruth! Have fun!
What is the brand name of the paints you used?
So so pretty!

There is not many vdo with tie dye..but this one is beautiful...it makes me want 2 try it ..good job
tmizaguirre69 Thank You! You should try! It isn’t difficult and it is a very forgiving one since tie dye is so wild anyway!
Great video! I can’t wait to try this! Your cup is beautiful! ✌️✌️✌️

How did it turn out

Great cup! Thanks for sharing.
Just an fyi, it is kind of hard to hear you even with the volume up all the way.
L B you’re welcome and so sorry you were having trouble hearing me... I’ll see if I can work on that in the future! Thanks for the feedback!
Yeah the volume kept going in and out
Did you seal the acrylic paint before epoxy? What epoxy do you use? This is so beautiful!
YES DID YOU SEAL BEFORE EPOXY AN HOW MUCH FOR A CUP THIS SIZE WHEN DONE THANKS
🙋Hi new sub here. This cup is stunning😍😍😍 you had me at tiedye💞 thank you for sharing...
Rachel Castillo thank you so much :) and you’re welcome :)
What's the name of the song. I love this tutorial
ellen leyva Thank you! I’m not sure as it is just a sound track from the video editing app I used ❤️
This was very nice of you to show people this thanks for the share. Also if you don’t mind me asking how did you do the decal with making the name shadowed like that?
Shell schutta I used an app called Phonto. If you search in RUclips Holli Mostella does a great little how to!
MishellyCrafts thanks so much you’re amazing!! 💕😊
Shell schutta you’re very welcome and Thank You 😊
Look amazing!!! Did you put an epoxy coat over top?
Tessa Guillaume thank you so much :) yes I did :)
Do you sand your tumbler before spray painting?
Amanda Dowden yes I sure do! It roughs up the stainless and removes any protective coating so that the spray paint has something to grab onto :)
How did you do the vinyl with the border around the name?! That’s so cute!! Great job on these, looks so groovy 🙃
Thanks!! I used the app Phonto on my phone :) there is a great tutorial by Holli Mostella where she shows you how! :)
Are the cups non toxic and can you put them in a dishwasher?
Josephine Rock the epoxy is fda compliant and they do not go in the dishwasher... they need to be hand washed only.
Love this!! Do you think I could do this same method with alcohol ink instead of acrylic paint?
Briana M probably! I haven’t tried but I’m sure it would turn out great! Tie dye is so forgiving! :)
Thank you so much. Very informative
Miss Breatrice Sweeter You’re Welcome! :) Thanks for watching!
So I am confused (doesn’t take much..lol!) Did you draw the swirl on the opposite side? Probably a dumb question but I want to try doing one! Thanks for the video.
Janet Berquist I just drew the one spiral and then just decided to wing it on the other side where I thought it may end up!
Did you do two coats of paint or just one?
I do a few coats (about 3) of the paint because it really makes the colors pop! :) plus it helps make those mixes colors pop as well... the orange, green and purple are just made from the others overlapping :)

Teresa Tamilia pencil marks are so annoying right?!? And the only number I see is a 4 :) hope that helps!
How do you wash it without the paint coming off? Do you spray it with something? Also, with the logo how do you place it.. is it a sticker or what?
Chasati Lane The cup is covered in epoxy after the paint dries and the logo is vinyl which is a sticker and the epoxy seals it all so you can wash it! It is a hand wash only item though you wouldn’t want to put it in the dishwasher.
So after the paint and it dries do u put name on and than epoxy or do u epoxy and than put name on?
Kathy Kelley epoxy then name, them epoxy again :)
after the acrylic paint dries do you spray seal it before doing the epoxy? also, how long do you let it dry before doing the second coat?
Courtney Rodriguez no need to spray seal acrylics so just epoxy right over it once it’s dry! Most likely you can do the second coat within an hour... the first coat just has to be dry first and acrylics dry pretty fast!

Yes it is Neon Acrylics from Michael’s

Artist's Loft from Michael's :) Neons
