Music & Sound Effects from Epidemic Sound (www.epidemicsou...)
My favorite places to buy paints: www.miniaturem...
I really like how boldly you paint, and I especially liked how you differentiated the cloak from the skin with the different highlighting approaches. Good work! You don't often see red being highlighted with white for a pink effect, and your execution was excellent. Looking forward to seeing Part 2, for sure.
Thanks man! This has to be one of my all-time favorite minis that I've painted. It just has so many details and is just such a cool sculpt.
This is awesome!
Oh no, it's like 11:49pm here - will watch tomorrow!
Dig the first music though ;)
Hey! It's the same time here! I need to go to bed haha Glad someone else digs the first tune too! I had to introduce at least a little bit of crazy in there somehow :D
Banda Inku yes go to bed :D congrats on getting this finished!
You find time to come back and enjoy the goodness that is the Oni of Hate!?
Of course! You put a ton of effort into this guy and it shows! Sadly you are on a whole other level than me (air brushing, two brush blending, etc. - you really pulled out all the stops!)
I'll get to mine eventually, but it'll certainly look different! BTW - my favorite part of this whole thing so far is the blue underneath the red and yellow. That cool to warm colors right next to each other like actually looks fantastic and you really pulled it off :D
Sweet! Yeah I kinda went all out haha. Gotta have him looking good! I'm super pleased with his little loin cloth thingy. :)
I'm sure yours will look good too!
This is so good ! Very impressed !
Thanks man! Super excited to get Part 2 out! This model was so cool to watch come together.
świetnie wyszło zwałszcza włosy podobały mi się, dużo się wzoruję na twojej pracy
Glad you like it man! (Google Translated - Cieszę się, że podoba ci się człowiek!)
Very excellent!
Glad you like! This guys is one of my favorites :) You painting stuff too? What you working on?
I'm learning a lot watching at it a lot of times. Can I ask if you are going to upload a new video with another Rising Sun monster?
Glad you're enjoying the video! I will for sure be covering more Rising Sun monsters. Planning on painting up the whole core box (and possibly more) here on the channel. I'm working on the Oni of Skulls right now actually! His video will be up sometime in June. There's a bunch of work-in-progress photos over on Patreon if you're interested in checking it out early :) www.patreon.com/posts/wip-rising-sun-19128210
What's up everyone! Super excited to finally get this tutorial out! Leave a comment with a guess as to how long you think this guy took to paint! Whoever gets the closes will get a special shout out in Part 2!
Hi Banda Inku, I'll say 7h39min :) Keep up the good work !
around 6h30m
The transitions on the cloak are stunning. Nice work. And never seen that dry brush method before on the belly. I will try that. Would love to see you do some kami unbound miniatures - just bought the set and need some tips "0)
Reckon it took you 5 hours in total.
Thanks man! I'm really happy with how the belly turned out. LOVE using those inks! The kami are definitely awesome minis. I will see what I can do about doing some of those soon :) I wish he just took me 5 hours! That would've been awesome! A lot of the time on this guy though was honestly spent in fixing blends and making small adjustments. If I would have known exactly how I wanted to do him from the get go, he would have taken a much shorter amount of time.
that music is just like the music from spacechem
I love watching your videos!! Ok,so I just started painting these for my buddy & I'm a bit new to this so bear with me.I LOVE the yellow but where do I buy it? I have a lot of citadel paints but have not seen the ones you use.Again thanks for any help & your vids are great!!
Hey thanks! Glad you're enjoying them! So the yellow I use is made by Vallejo. If I'm buying individual paint bottles I usually buy them from www.miniaturemarket.com however Amazon has a really good deal for the full Vallejo Ink set - amzn.to/2rdin99 Love all their inks. Just be sure to shake them up really well when you get them to make sure the pigment is all mixed in. (It settles on the bottom of the bottles if they've been sitting for a while)
Would love to hear how you like them once you get to try them out!
How long you been painting? What you painted so far? Any guys you are particularly excited to see covered in tutorials?
So of the "Oni's" I have blood & souls left to do.I've just started Oni of Hate.I am really looking forward to finishing these 3(I saved them for last lol) but so far my absolute favorite ones have been the Dragons!! Don't get me wrong,I like em all but the Dragons are for sure my fave..
I haven't watched all of your vids yet but I did just subscribe so I'm not sure yet if you have Oni of Blood & Oni of Souls vid?(If you do just disregard & I'll watch in a bit) If not, those would be cool😊 Again man, thanks so much you have no idea how helpful you are👍
Also I haven't been painting miniatures that long but I've always kinda tinkered around with them.I painted & did ceramics for years so I've always kinda liked doing stuff like this.My husband is a huge gamer & his buddy bought the Rising Sun.We were talking a couple weeks ago & I volunteered to paint them for him so he was pretty happy.Jorogumo & Yurei gave me problems a bit even though they're fairly simple haha.
Nice! I am a HUGE Dragons fan myself! Dragons are my favorite! I really like demons too :D
I just got started on Rising Sun so I've only got the Oni of Hate up so far, but with time I will be covering the whole box. I've been trying to decide which Oni to paint up next so I'll definitely consider those 2 as I'm making my decision.
I'm currently working on finishing up the Dragonfly Shinto and I must say I'm super excited to get the video out for you guys this month (Well technically next month). It's gonna be a fun one! I've posted up some work-in-progress pics of them over on Patreon if interested. We've also got a super friendly, fun community building up over there with lots of new painters like yourself. You considered joining? It'd be fun to have ya join us! Would also love to see some of the minis you've painted up!
Thanks again for taking the time to comment! The best part of being a creator is interacting with all you awesome mini painting people. So thanks! Love being part of this awesome community and am super happy to hear that my content is helping you out!
Anything I can do to make the videos better / even more helpful?
Right on! Buddy your vids are super helpful just the way they are.I can't think of anything to change or add to them just now but if I do I'll let ya know!!
Great work!
You got me excited with that heavy metal music :'(
Hahaha maybe one of these days I'll actually do one with that song. I quite like it. (It is the outro song in all the RS videos 😄)
