Nicely shot video. If you look at the tensioner, there is a small hole under the pulley. Once you relieve tension using the 17mm socket, you can put a small nail or allen into the hole and it keeps the tensioner pulled back. That makes removing and installing the belt easier. Once the new belt is on, put some tension onto the tensioner again, remove the allen and slowly release to put tension back onto the belt. Simple DIY though...thanks again for the video.
I guess you could have easily taken off the air adapter hose to show a little more, but overall, it was a really good video. If you've ever owned a 350, then you know those accessories pullies bearings go out around 60k miles and need to be replaced.
Great video. I placed my belt on, correctly but it's still loose. It's the correct belt type. I've installed a new tensioner pulley as well. Any ideas on how to tighten it, or am I looking at a bigger problem?
Make sure you have the correct length of the serpentine belt once you’re sure the routing is correct. I almost second guessed myself when changing mine but I realized I had the wrong length(short) from two different parts stores. If you have your manual handy, it might help you. Mine was 87 & 1/4 inches long. The belts also come in 80” and 84” inches depending on your trim.
@@TheEnthusiastMechanic I got it without removing the Intercooler but had to cut the old belt because it snag behind the crank pulley. It took me an hour and half. You need a thin 17mm set up wrench or socket due the clearance of the intercooler and crank pulley.
@@moisesperez4659 The tensioner has a place to lock with a pin, but if you don't have a pin, you can use a drill bit, allen wrench, etc. to hold the tensioner locked back. In fact, if you have to replace the tensioner, it must be in the locked position to be able to remove the lower mounting bolt.
Brother I request my E 350 when i drive some time come road noise from front side | what is that suspension problem or sound proofing problem please make video
I only make videos with a particular card comes in with a certain problem if I ever get one roll into the shop that has a noise I will, but it just matters and depends on when it comes
I have the same car I'm just curious how long can you run this car without its belt? I know you will lose your battery charged because the alternator is off what else would you lose can you run a car without a water pump

Nice work thank you
I just need to figure out how to get the belt on the crank pulley on a M276 DE35 (GLE, W166) without removing the intercooler.
@@A.Musa76 belts are flexible maybe you’re able to flex it into place

Thank you for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Excellent

Thx I will do it
Are both of the idler pulley the same size?
I believe they are different sizes and styles.
Was the belt a 870k6
Yes 6K870
Mine is too long
870k6 is the 87 inch. Too long. I'm stuck

I wouldn't recommend running an engine without a belt at all, it can cause many issues including engine failure
@@TheEnthusiastMechanic because of the water pump right
Yes no water flowing will overheat and damage the motor
Hey my belt came off and from the time my car shut off was about 10min down the highway
Does the belt top width important? I have one belt with top width .793 and the other belt with top width .83
hello is these the same motor as the SLK 350 2011
yes i belive so
