When I see BLUELOCK, I'm reminded of the story of an infamous college american footbal training camp, where the coach had over one hundred potential players take part in brutal training in the summer in the middle of a heatwave that was regularly over 110 F to whittle it down to the very best and most committed. While it might have been "You're free to leave any time", some of those students were there on a football scholarship, so if they couldn't play, they couldn't go to college period. Because of that, some of those students pushed themselves to the brink and then further beyond, trying to stay in. Injuries were common, and one student nearly died and ended up with health problems for the rest of his life from the extreme conditions.
@@thegamingwolf5612 Maybe one? I'm not sure. I don't even know if the team did well that year. This was in the 60s or 70s in Texas, so it is hard to say. I do remember that there was a movie about it, though. At the point where one guy almost dies, the parents come to talk to the coach. When discussing everything, the coach describes football as a war. The father, a veteran of either WW2, Korea, or Vietnam, replies with "I've been to war. Football's a sport." Mind you, the main issue the coach was faced with was that he had a massive number of students who expected to be in the football team simply because their parents were very generous donors to the college. Basically, a bunch of privledged trust fund kids who all went in expecting to be quarterback or the star player, plus a bunch of others that college recruiters brought in with football scholarships. You probably had enough for three football teams or more. The coach was then expected to form a team out of this in a way that was supposed to satisfy everyone despite that being literally impossible. He'd either be getting angry rich parents calling to complain about why their kid was being cut, or ruining the chances of students whose only chance of a college education was on a football scholarship. Not a situation anyone wants to be in.
The thing I like about the Dub is just how sinister Isagi sounds. If the sub handles the pride and joy he feels in his accomplishments then the dub holds how sinister he is when he crushes these people.
In the Isagi spin off novel, Ego was impressed with Isagi when he saw the game where he lost. He basically described Isagi as a genius who's potential and ego were killed by his enviroment. He was able to notice Isagi's overwhelming spatial awareness and thinking, and recruited him based on that. He also said that people like Isagi make this whole blue lock thing special. The reason Ego was smiling was cuz he was seeing Isagi reclaiming his lost ego.
@@oomp9123Well, you are in a program where your chances of attaining your dream are on the line. If you lose you can never play soccer in a pro-environment again.

Just like Barou in his youth....then peoples start to say that Barou is very evil, when in Blue Lock it is totally legal to have that kind of pleasure: (The pleasure that only the strongest can obtain in the field).

Isagi's va in this dub is crazy good
Same va with Mirio from mha
i cant help but feel like the blue lock project seems like a death game but the only thing that dies are their dreams

Ego might not think much of Isagi’s skills right now, but he definitely sees the potential of his ego.
