    Join us on this 100 mile overnight crossing as we sail from Barbados to Martinique in the Caribbean. We explore the cute little village of Sainte Anne in the southern part of the island. Oh, and we also purchase a new dinghy after the old one mysteriously went missing in Barbados.
    A couple from Australia and Norway who set sails from Norway on a Beneteau Oceanis 40 in late 2018 to explore the world by sailboat. (Yup, another sailing couple doing the standard route and documenting it on film.)

    I wonder if there is a way to prevent dingys getting stolen

    Great video guys, just wondering why you sailed with your spinnaker pole rigged and out to starboard?

    • @SailingBeaver
      @SailingBeaver  3 года назад +3

      Thankyou mate, appreciated.
      We usually rig the pole permanently on the windward side on a downwind passage with a spare sheet fitted. That way we can easily switch between a reach or head downwind wing on wing with the headsail sheeted out to the pole. Saves us going on deck and a lot of work.

    Unrelated question to
    Your content, but I’m sure you can answer it: how often do you guys run across solo cruisers with boats >40 ft? Almost all channels here are either couples or small families.

    • @SailingBeaver
      @SailingBeaver  3 года назад +1

      Hey mate,
      It’s actually pretty common to be honest. I guess there is two types of solo, such as solo sailors that take crew for crossings and the true hardcore solo sailors and we have defiantly made a few friends that do this. Insurance seems to be an issue for the offshore passages when alone.

    Unless you land the fish, it's just another 'Fishing Tale'.
    Good sailing weather.

    • @SailingBeaver
      @SailingBeaver  3 года назад

      Correct, although it’s a good tale when you have the footage to show right. We had no intention of landing that one. 🤙
