I already have an ESEE 5 with a box on the sheath. In the box is a ferrocerium rod and some tinder. The ESEE 5 has an extremely thick and heavy blade. It's indestructible, perfect for batoning fat sticks to make them into skinny sticks. Unfortunately the ESEE 5 is extremely heavy - so heavy that it pulls my pants down, so I have to mount it on my pack. Also the spine of the knife is rounded so I also have to pack a striker for the ferro rod. I have been looking for an alternative to my ESEE 5 and have found it in the Sethlans. The spine of the knife is a sharp 90 degrees and the knife is a full inch shorter. 4 inches for me is the perfect size for a camp knife while 5 inches is a bit too long. The Sethlans is bare steel, which can rust so I have to be careful and keep it clean and oiled. The two ntaps at the hilt are difficult to un-snap, but they will loosen up with use. The scabbard and knife can be easily disassembled using a screwdriver in case you don't want the ferro rod and sharpening stone, and it's much lighter and more handy than the ESEE 5.
