I'm black and I think I'm the only person in my whole school that loves Nightwish, Sonata Arctica, For My Pain, Poisonblack, Charon, Northern Kings, etc. and not into pop/rap/RnB/Hip Hop and damn proud of it too! Tuomas Holopainen and Tony endlessly speak to my soul! Heavy/Melodic/Power/Symphonic metal are the only genres of music that provoke any kind of emotion in me. It's sad that everyone else is filling their minds with those generic, predictable songs instead of this kind of beauty...
I completely agree with you. However, I never said that I hated rap. The thing is that I was into all of those genres before too. I don't really have anything against them because I believe that music is a beautiful thing in whatever form it is presented. I just listened to it for so long to realize that it was all the same. It doesn't have the same diversity as what I'm into right now. And classical and rock have been my favorite things as a child, I only realized it later.
Fun and pleasuring things we witness in life will appeal to us fast but you get older and good one's stay with us throuth all our life! Sonata is one great band and I heared lots of differents music and still glad when I hear a 12 years old boy or girl who likes it. My nephew likes it too and he is 11! From quebec Canada ;)

hip-hop music didn't exist. Hip-hop is a culture which include: Dj'ing, breakdancing, graffitti and rap, so rap is a music. I don't understand you. You don't listen rap/RnB? You are loosing a piece of good music. Closing for one genre of music or only for some artist is very bad. Why you hate rap? I'm listening to rap (polish mostly: Ten typ mes), regge, rock, metal and I can give anothet genres for an hour. I'm not hater, I just want to say you that you have to be open-minded for new music.
