WOW!!! you have educated me so much. Retired now, needing something to do. Doing the ship and boat I served on. Also my buddy's grandfather's ship, the Iowa BB-61. It's the one that needs a diorama. I walked her teak deck in Philly in 1981, as our ship was in the yards. Also the Des Moines, and the Intrepid. Got chills. Thanks for the tutorial brother. Carry on.
While doing this I found out that you could use a Mixture of glue and water and cotton o make the wake of the water just do the same Procedure mix PVA glue with a little bit of water then press or dab the cotton on to the layout Basically just do the same thing with glue water mixture and cotton then you could skip the step of re painting some of the toilet tissue just ask me if you have Any questions
Olá patrício!!!! Sempre com excelentes vídeos hein. Quando posso, dou uma passada aqui para aprender um pouco mais. Você está de parabéns! Abraços d'além mar
nice !....i built a 1:700 destroyer , i wont ever again, but i tried to encapsulate with epoxy resin, it didnt turn out well, i forgot to adhere the ship to its base and it floated up when i poured the epoxy in the mold, when the build dried there was bubbles all over, couldnt barely see the ship, but this was my first attempt ever, i wanted to get into modeling but i wanted the ship to be fully submerged so noboy could break off a gun, or a mast or a flag or a signal lamp, or whatever could break, people touch things, especially kids, but its in and set, i wish i could remove the ship and try another pour, but alex great tutorial and beautiful work, very talented, thank you
Very interesting how you do water. I tried it a few times using this thick liquid I got from a store that sells rail road trains stuff. The tin foil is a great idea. Did you ever try using cotton balls with Elmer’s glue to shape the waves? I’m working on a 1/350 scale destroyer IJN. The tiny little brass acid etch parts are really making me blind. But the model is really looking sweet. And your great idea to make it look like water has inspired me to try this out when I get done with my model ship.
Very nice! But in my research I’ve found that now waves from large ships are in a arching pattern at there terminus. Due to the ship traveling faster than the wave and the ships displacement. Again very nice!!
he did say the ocean and waves were done in your perspective so arching them is your interpretation , i also notice arches in wakes from large ships , then they come back to the ships stern as a side arch or half moon shape, both sides,
Im gonna be doing this with my titanic, its like a fish tank on the top is the titanic sailing and on the bottom is the wreck today. Thanks for the tutorial, this is gonna help :)
Great well done video and the basis for my seascapes now. Just one question why go to all the trouble of painting the waves near the ship and wake and then cover them with tissue paper and paintover that. Once the tissue paper goes down everything is covered up ?
Congratulations ... I suggest a video explaining how to do the painting of a flight deck with the filth of the air operations and the time slides of an aircraft carrier of the class Nimitz
Great build! Congratulations. I am very pleased with your work. Can you tell me where did you get all these tools and paints? Specialized shop or toy store?
I’m working on my water diorama for the Yamato as well using this video. What acrylic base did you use? Is this just white acrylic paint? Thanks already!
let me ask you a question and get your opinion if you can help.. if you wanted to fully submerge a 1:700 or a 1:350 ship on a small diorama ocean with a mast and flags how would you do it ? my failure is a 1:700 destroyer with masts and wires and flags, it is 10 inches long, 3 inches wide and 3 inches tall, i changed my mind and will do another 1:700 , would you do the pour in layers or one large pour ? my fail did really harden fast so i just need to work on bubbles , the mold i used made a crystal clear square block with the ship inside on a small blue diorama with waves created with putty and paint, i did this project days before i saw your projects, any assistance would be appreciated from the viewers as well
Have to say you thank you for the great Idea , i build mine Water Diorama a little bit Different than yours , but the Idea is the same , Aluminum Foil rules !
claudinor beraldo concordo... foi a minha 1a tentativa neste metodo e sinceramente gostei... agora estou a tentar descobrir onde posso simular mares atribulados em espuma... se souber de algum site ou canal onde se ensine agradeço. Obrigado por comentar

Hi AlexModeling, There is a much easier way of doing this...Check out this product and give it a go. "Mod Podge" Gloss It goes on white and dries gloss clear. I am sure you will see on RUclips all about it.
Glad YOU did the tutorial. Really makes the ship come alive. Hope you'll build more ships.

Yes. ONLY resting some results and finding out the best efect
Going to do this with my Yamato model as well
A well done condensed version of the Guido seascape.

This is so cool. Could you have used a dot -filter method with oils to blend that foam/water color as well?
You can use it.. if i could... I wouldn t. My choice
@@AlexModeling Ok thank you. I learn a lot form your videos and really enjoy them all a lot. Thanks again.
No problem! Thanks
Is beautiful 😱😱😱😱😱😱❤❤❤❤❤
Have to say you thank you for the great Idea , i build mine Water Diorama a little bit Different than yours , but the Idea is the same , Aluminum Foil rules !
Thank you! I am currently oractising on the sculpting foam method! :)
I tried using a sheet of dense blue foam from the hardware store. I just take a fork and tear out chunks until it starts to look like rough waves.
My. Next project after I get the a-6e intruder done is a arleigh burke class destroyer waterline underway. This tutorial will be a great help.
Holy crap that almost looked like it's real! 1:03
Colorado decals I think are based in portugal, have you had experience with there decal quality? 🤔

Nothing to said,,,,,,,,,,............JOB WELL DONE,
Bom dia, talvez uma tinta acrílica incolor por cima antes da cor branca também fosse ficar legal, parabéns ótimo trabalho, um abraço meu amigo.

Can i use spraypaint and acrylic on the last two parts?
good post bro
+SolventAbuseUk Thanks Mate, glad you like it!
Why didn’t you just dry brush the wake on there? Feel like it would have saved time and looked just as good
Ola gostava de saber o nome do acrylico que põe e aonde compra assim como o gel aonde posso comprar? Obrigado

Sim
Ainda bem que gostou! Forte abraço aí para os mano Paulista!
@@AlexModeling vlw manoooo!!! Vou participar mais de réus vídeos!
Wow it’s a really good creation. But I have one problem the wave behind it looks a bit off🤔
Yes indeed... The waves were made for Another kit
At 7:25 they show paint on can I use a spray can and spray on instead? Thanks
Hey Alex! Have you ever thougth of getting a B-24 liberator? Revell has a 1:48 one and Its awsome! Im building it right now! :D
A yes?
I found it! But didn t baught it... but i have a friend building one and im following the build with all PE Set and it is indeed interesting!
AlexModeling oh..... next time, Think of buying it plzzz....
are you Form germany or austria ? Nevermind! Great Video!
Neither one nor another! Thank you
Hey Alex that is so cool, but Guido hasn't posted for over two years not sure what is going on there, hope all is ok.
Just ordered a 1/1200 to test this on.
+UKscalemodeller Great Ian! :)
AlexModeling a Scharnhorst will be my first ever ship.
+UKscalemodeller looking forward to see it Ian!
Sorry what scale for the Yamato
Btw what scale models do you recommend for this type of diorama
1/700 is smaller... and not easier for this tipe of diorama... however thats what o recomend...
AlexModeling thank you
Why add the toilet paper then paint over it

thank you! i will!
👍🏽
Yamato!
warning: only works for waterline series
looks OK but for (any) water on dioramas you can't beat "realistic water".
I agree.. thats why modeling is building and simulate reality...
Don't forget to shake!
+Zekta the wolf very important! :D
YAMATO :DDDD
The wave behind that ship looks not so logical...
Yes.. totally wrong! Thank you!
@@AlexModeling Apart from that, it looks all great!! Please keep doing your best👍
Thank you and thank you for your constructive comment! :)
Is 1/700
There are a lot better results for a lot less effort. Sorry, but it's true.
There are... Don t be sorry... It my "jorney" through modeling .. just that
@@AlexModeling good luck with your journey.
