This video is very helpful!
What if one wants to lower the toe to lower the walkway , would underpinning help to install a new toe at a lower level?
This 10-minute video explained the important concepts of retaining walls better than my college professor did. Because of that, I don't have a choice but to subscribe to your channel.
Yea that’s what always makes me question college for jobs like this. A contractor building good sized retaining walls can make in a month what a professor makes in a year plus! Lol
If only this video was available while studying engineering, I would not have struggled a lot.
Respected Sir , I am very glad to see that still on earth smart person like you exist who have made things easier for students .we all appreciate it from bottom of our heart .
Sir, your videos are awesome , These videos are helping me in grasping my Civil Engineering knowledge effectively. 🔥🔥
Dang. Great video that saved me from myself in my own plans to build a retaining wall on my property. Thanks for some very helpful info. Now I can build it to never fail. 👍
one of the best videos I've watched about retaining walls. Thank you!
This video was very useful as it helped me when studying for structural class.
The effort it must have took to make this animation!
Kudos, Great video
I have never seen like this video on retaining wall.its awesome.no words to explain.i like it very much.thankyou sir
man this is NEXT level of content 11/10 please make more videos if possible sir.
In RUclips one of the best video to explain this talking topic it was 🤩 thx for Clearing doubts
Very helpful! Hoping you would upload more. This really helps me on my studies :)
too good. You made it really easy. Especially with all equations. Thanks.
This is good quality content. Please never stop making videos.
Turns out I will not be attempting to DIY my concrete retaining wall after watching this 😅 saved me lots of money and frustration I’m sure. Thanks a million man. Keep these great videos coming!
😁 Thanks!
This is the best explanation i have had till now... Fluent English and easy to understand.. Thanks bro

Very very important awesome amazing content.... Very helpful for students ... Thankyou so so much sir
Excellent quality, Comprehensive content.......good job.
Outstanding Sir,Mind Blowing, Indescribable Sir,HATS OFF
Thank uh dude for this masterpiece.
one of the underrated RUclips channels.

I was really having a hard time understanding the passive pressure (and when there is a shear key). I'm always questioning why it is not included in the problems we are solving. That's the problem we are just solving without understanding the principle behind it.
Found this video and can't believe that the answer was just to be conservative in the design, that's it. I can't find my courage and time to ask my professor, and I always find videos to understand the concept much deeper but had a hard time finding one.
I am really thankful that I found this video. The voice over is clear (but improvements can be made), content is simple and concise. Focuses on principles first to further understand the formulas(it is really helpful for us students) and the figures/animation really solidifies it.
You're still 12k+ subscribers but the value you provide is already at a higher level. Please keep making this high quality videos.
This "aha" moment just filled me with so much dopamine that I wrote this much. I can't believe it. Peace out.
Thank you for an elaborate review. It will be really useful for future videos. 👍
I just finished architecture, and when I see your videos. this makes me want go study civil engineering too
Such complicated concept explained in such a simple manner, thanks a lot 👍🏻👍🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Very well explained with 3d views. Thank you
such a lovely explanation and animation to make us understand..loved it 😍😍
Very Good explanation 👍👍👍
Respect family,
Thank you for the excellent video and explanation.
Beautifully explained 👍👌
Lovely! Keep it up, the graphics are great!🔥
Love love love the visuals and explanations! I'm using your videos to build a solid understanding of structures for my foray into home inspection!!!
excellent video explaining all forces acting on the wall
Awesome video and it clearly explains the concept of retaining walls.superb👌👌👌
This is just mind blowing!! Thank you guys and keep going
sir,in house basement can we use cement solid blocks wall instead of rcc retaning wall to reduce cost?
Thank you for the excellent video and explanation.
Very nice conceptual video
It was uploaded 3 years ago
But I'm watching this now in2024
What ever
crystal clear concept is provided here
Good information, cleanly presented and easily understandable. Bravo.
excellently explained without an extra word
This is so well explained. Thankyou
Enjoyed it thoroughly
Thanks for the great explanation.
00:05 Retaining walls are structures used to hold earth or any other material, allowing the area above and below it to be usable.
01:30 Different Types of Retaining Walls
02:52 Different types of retaining walls and their failure modes
04:15 The resistance against sliding is mainly provided by the friction between the base slab and the soil below it.
05:31 Active pressure is the pressure actively trying to push the wall along it.
06:51 Design calculations for a granular soil wall are conservative due to the exclusion of certain pressures
08:04 The pressure diagrams for walls under soil and water loads.

Excellent tutorial video,, every detail covered,,well done 🚴
Great job Sir!!!
Good explanation, i learned something
Such a short video with so much information, indeed very helpful. Keep up the good work👏
Subject are not hard , the difference is only the way of delivering
Superb way of explaining sir
Wow ..what a precise video
Please put up videos on wind loads along with calculations
great video sir, hope you can upload more about shear walls and other structures
Thank you for this video. It actually helped alot in visualising.
You are a blessing Sir!
Learned much about wall design...thanks...
Great efforts ! Thank you so much.
wonderful explanation sir with visualization. Keep it up.
Very clear description
Very good info! Thanks!
excellent video thank you so much
Very nice,thank you
Thank you sir. Very informative
Hi, quick question. How do we calculate the shear on the virtual front (excluding base) and shear on front of the base? I believe this is the horizonal component of soil pressure * tan(delta) however, I am unsure how this is then calculated for an undrained case where delta/phi = 0 (as friction is not mobilised) and instead undrained cohesion is used. What would the shear on the front/back be in this case? I assume we would use the cw/c ratio, but is there a part of the formula I am missing? Thanks!
great explanation thanks!
hey I hope u upload at least 5 viedos this year I'm happy to learn from you
Excelent!! Thanks
Thanks for this master piece
Hi. Can someone tell me what are the forces that can cause failure on key and how to calculate them and where they act? Thank you
super helpful!!! Thanks!!!!!!
Upto the point video
Nice gentleman.well explained. Thanks for speaking in English

Thanks for the explanation very informative do more video like this
Thank you sir.
My concrete foundation is leaning out causing joist to come loose in the center of the house should I create a running concrete base or single concrete footings
What a freak video...kudos to u guysssz
hi, do you have any video regarding on how to design a retaining wall? imean the calculation needed?
amazing!
Thanks !
Amazing video
Great!!!!!!! 💙💙💙💙
Dear sir,
Excellent explanations.
Do you have Analysis and Design part of Basement Retaining Wall (Step shall be considered as Beam fixed at Base and Pinned at Top.)
Hi Nadeem, will make a separate video on basement walls soon 👍
