@The Weapon Collection actually they do, black bears get up to 600lbs. There was a black bear hunted that was 800lbs, no joke.

I always underestimate the intelligence of other animals (besides humans). He kept alternating between one hand and his teeth, then the other hand and his teeth to rest his arms before finally his arms just gave out. Pretty smart.
Wasn't smart enough to rip off the meat and drop it to the ground. Instead it looks like all he wanted to do was eat it while hanging there.
If he was really clever he would've just gotten a ladder

Very smart animals, glad you did not shoot him/her. My dad sustenance hunted, but never for trophies nor supported it. I have seen so many black bears in the wild, they are curious, elusive, avoid people preferring to do their own thing....shooting one for a trophy is like shooting a sitting duck they are so easy going. What is the point? There is no moral or credible conservation argument for trophy hunting.

Years ago we used to backpack on the Appalachian trail in the Great Smokies. In some areas, after pitching tents for the night,m we had to string our packs and all food on ropes tossed over tree limbs, so we could pull them up out of reach of the brown bears, who could be very aggressive about helping themselves to hikers victuals. Many of the bears learned to send their smallest and youngest up the trees and ropes to take sometimes successful flying leaps at the packs.
Most impressive thing of this video is the strength of that rope

He was hunting bear. The bear come into the area and try to stand up to see the meat and are generally shot at that point. The idea is that they can't reach the meat, so they sit around thinking about how they can get to it.

Thats because that Bear wasnt super heavy (easily under 200 lbs), and used his jaws to help as well. Humans can do that, also. Im like 135 lbs, but i wouldnt have fell lol, not to say this isnt impressive, nonetheless.

Great video, and I'll be damned he looked like he was going to try it again. He was a strong guy to hang and turn around and around using his mouth. Jeez they're cool animals.
It reminded me (him looking like he was going to go at it again) of a story about my father's dumb dog. We were cutting wood and the dogs were out; they love to get the sticks and "help". Anyway, the black lab started freaking out. He was choking and gagging and acting real weird. He was kind of squirming and walking backwards and pawing at his mouth, and he had his head pointed down at the ground. We figured he was choking on something. I grabbed him and took a quick look in his mouth and couldn't see anything. He was still getting air, so I said the best thing is to let him work it out. He kept it up for a minute, but then started to go down. It got pretty scary because we could tell he was hurting on something. Then the other guy grabbed him and stuck his finger down his throat and pulled out a inch and a half long stub of a stick. It lodged itself crooked in his throat. When the guy pulled it out he automatically just tossed it to the side and that son-of-a-bitch dog jumped right up and ran to grab to stick again.
Anyway, thanks for the great video.

A bear came in my yard, got the bird suet while bending the poll sideways! He also bent one of the ground stakes sideways that had to be bent back to put the poll back in the ground. It was a very strong poll, but I saw a bear poll that was 5 times wider than the one I had.
