    You did show me very simply, easy, slowly, exactly what i needed to see about the tension thinggie. Going to go try it with tree and existing post. the screwdriver is clever/sensible, i used a wrench and fingers. I also think the kit is easier, i bought separate pieces. notable is rope should be cloth clothesline rope b/c otherwise will not fit in the pulleys. your vid even better than guy w/2 trees. THANKS!

    Thank you! Not only for the excellent instructions, but for the tip on how to use a screwdriver for leverage to turn the hooks. I was just putting up some of those screws for hanging plants on my porch the other day, and I didn't have the hand strength to get them all the way in (even with pilot holes). I was going to ask my hubby to finish them for me, but now I was able to do them myself, and it was easy! Next, on to putting up a clothes line! :)

    I just put my pulley clothesline up last week and I really love it. I have mine going from my back porch to a tree so I can be under my covered porch when I hang the wash. I take the line down (loosen the tensioner, unhook the pulley from the hook, wrap on an extension cord wrap and hang on a hook) so its out of the way when I am not using it. I wish I found metal pulleys, the ones I found at the hardware store were plastic, seem to do the trick though

      Katie Cooks and Crafts Hi Katie, good to hear. the plastic pulleys will work, but they may wear out sooner than metal ones. good idea to have it start under the porch roof. thx! eric.

    Seems like most things I search for on RUclips, you already have a video for. This makes me happy and I have been subscribed to you and the Labradors for a long time. I hadn't thought of this pulley type line, was going to go with the old faithful T poles. This seems much easier. Thanks for the idea!

      be sure to buy a quality set, the all plastic ones aren't as good, IMO. thx!

    Nowadays, you might end up hanging the "family cloth" up there! Hey, so does that tensioner work if one were to put coated wire up instead of rope? Is there an advantage to coated wire? I was just thinking it wouldn't sag, but I guess if I had a tensioner like that it would be okay.

    What if you need to attach it from a metal clothes post to vinyl siding? I don't want to damage my siding or have it pulled off by a breeze.

    Hello GardenFork: Would you be so kind as the post the manufacturer and model number of the kit in your video? I can't seem to find anything similar, except for one kit made by Franklin that is sold out. Otherwise, I guess I will just assemble the parts separately.

    I love using a clothesline in the summer... my parents did the same thing when I was growing up and all I remember is my sheets smelling like summer. Now that I'm older I know exactly how much money I save on my electric bill during these months. It may take a little longer to dry however the wait time is worth it.

    @cozzyk You should put one up anyway. If the neighbors complain, tell them to go ahead and hire a $400/hour attorney to fight your little clothesline. Most real estate covenants are not easily enforced unless they run afoul of other laws. And besides, they were written by the developer, who is long gone. And your neighbors would be hard-pressed to convince the judge it's a nuisance, because it doesn't make any noise.

    @jburgie We got a convuluted HOA rule book when we bought the house. I admit I like a tidy neighborhood (i.E. no cars on blocks all over) but the HOA is wackos now. We all got letters saying they are really going to now(meaning the economy is getting better really) start cracking down now on infractions and you should see the list. Our yard is in farily good shape but they are insisting all neighbors which have brown spots replace with a certain grass which takes a lot of water.

    Buttttt DONT u have to hold up the line with one of the stick things

  • @cozzyk
    @cozzyk 12 лет назад

    @cozzyk My husband has been and will continue to replace with a hardier grass which takes less water and looks better. In fact our county has rules that want us to all save water and use different grass. If they try and fight us on that they will have just indeed a fight on their hands. They though I know if you don't comply start sending attorney letters out to one non stop and charging fines. We can't afford an attorney so it's all scary.
