Yaye to an at-home espresso machine! (It will save you so much money, too.) I used to own a coffee shop w/ my sister and the company we bought our coffee beans from taught us everything we needed to know. The key to frothing milk is to tilt the cup sideways and just barely put the steam wand under the milk. You want it to make a hissing sound and create a swirling "tornado" of milk in your frothing cup. Once the milk is spinning, you can dip the wand further into the cup and set it down, sometimes you have to rotate the wand once you sit the cup down to keep the milk swirling inside. I typically let it froth for 2mins to get it nice and hot. (Your machine may vary though.) If your steam wand sounds like its screaming, we call it "killing the milk" and you want to keep rotating the wand until you get that hissing noise again. Otherwise you won't have nice frothy milk. It takes a little practice, but once you get it, its easy.
You are right, it has already saved us money! Thank you for sharing your tips, I know the screaming and hissing sounds you are describing 😆I have been hearing the hissing more since I have been practicing...so that sounds like progress!
For that steamed milk, drop the wand all the way to almost the bottom of the pitcher. Hold the pitcher at a slight angle so the top is pointed more toward you. The goal is to create a vortex where air is being incorporated as the steam heats the milk.
Thanks, so far we are loving the extra space :) We are excited to share our cruising experience and are beginning to edits the episodes this week. Which cruise line did you just get back from? How was it?
I hope your suitcase lasts a long time! The last one I bought from Bealls in Florida was broken after the first flight (wheel broke off). Have a good trip and good shots!
Thank you! That is a bummer your luggage was broken after a flight, not only do you have to buy new luggage, but it is so annoying lugging around a suitcase with a missing wheel. We hope you've found a better suitcase too!
Your ant problem reminded me of my south St Pete house when we first bought it 12 years ago. We ripped out the decaying wooden deck that was attached to the house and hired Massey who sprays our yard from time to time. That took care of the issue. Good luck guys!
We're planning on a Siesta Key/New Smyrna Beach/Clearwater Beach trip...looking forward to checking out the Siesta Key area for our first time and hitting some of the places you've highlighted there!
My husband and I just started making our own meade! We love experimenting with different flavors! We never made it to Sarasota for vacation last year but are starting to plan for it this December! We love hot and humid weather, hopefully it's not too cold in December. Do you guys ever meet up with your fans??
Those Terro ant traps are awesome! We have to use them every so often in our kitchen. Love these new vlogs for this channel. We have thought about doing a channel like this but who wants to watch me go to work everyday! HAHA!!
We've had to get a few of them, apparently there are a LOT of ants around here LOL Thanks for the feedback, we've been enjoying filming a new style of content. As far as filming going to work everyday...I guess it depends on what kind of work you do!
The only reason we tried it was because of cruising 😆we were going on a different cruise (without a drink package) and Skylar was researching wine with the highest alcohol content (since many cruise lines will allow you to bring on 1-2 bottles of wine) that is when he came across mead. Sounds like a very Skylar thing to do!
@@JamieandSkylar Usually go with the typical Chaucer's which is easy to find, but always enjoy trying it at meaderies. There was a restaurant called Pea Soup Andersen's which bottled their own, various flavors, that I would always stop at on my way up to visit my dad, but sadly it closed :( so I am on the hunt for something comparable. Will have to search for the Dansk!
@@patriciajuszak5784 thanks for sharing, I will have to ask Skylar if he has tried Chaucer's yet AND we will keep an eye out for any meaderies, I think we would enjoy visiting one. Have a great weekend :)
This is such a Florida post. Any of your fans thinking of relocating, this is exactly what a typical day looks like. My ants are well under control with those very traps. But also all food, even in boxes is in the fridge. Pouring a bowl of cereal or opening a box of spaghetti is no fun when it’s crawling with critters.
It is LOL....the real Florida experience. Yes, we have beaches and sun and palm trees, but also bugs...LOT and LOTS of BUGS! We are so thankful that (so far) our ants haven't been interested in our food.
Your new place is beautiful!
Thank you! We are really enjoying it!
Thanks to everyone who joined us on the premier, we always enjoy chatting with you all!

Thank you for the tips, I will give this a try tomorrow morning!
Yey, you've got a box for a printer 😉
Love the patio.Looking forward to watch the episode about the cruise. Just got back from mine.

Just an FYI some neighbors may not like your wind chimes. It keeps them up at night. I know!
Thanks for the comment, we will be sure to take them in at night!
Really enjoying the second channel guys keep up the great work 👍
Thank you so much for the feedback, we've been having fun filming this different style of content!
Community coffee is from my hometown. Grew up drinking it. :-)
That's awesome, we are really enjoying the dark espresso and chicory blends ☕

Ugh so sorry you had to deal with ants too ☹ but happy to hear Massey took care of them!
Skylar reminds me of Jeff Buckley’s drummer, Matt Johnson, circa mid-‘90s.
I had to google Matt Johnson, but I can see the resemblance!

That sounds like a wonderful plan, we still need to make it over to New Smyrna :) you'll have to let us know what you think of Siesta!

mmmm it is good, do you have a favorite brand? So far the best we've tried is Dansk Mjod Viking Blod but are always up for trying something new.

No experience with steaming milk or latte art, but that cup you made for Skylar looked like the head of George Washington
☕😆that is so funny, a few others also saw George Washington
Bon Voyage !
😀
Asian Beetles and Box Elder bugs up here....ants and wasps too!!!
ugh, that doesn't sound fun at all!
I don't like wasps!!!
same, i especially don't like wasps trying to get inside of vehicles!
