  • Measuring the negative pressure generated in the first 100 ms of an inspiratory effort against a closed airway, known as P0.1, is a straightforward and non-invasive method to estimate respiratory drive during mechanical ventilation. P0.1 is an indicator of the central respiratory drive and the patient's respiratory effort, providing valuable information for adjusting ventilatory support and preventing over- or under-assistance. By utilizing P0.1, clinicians can optimize mechanical ventilation settings to improve patient outcomes.
