To join my Minecraft server, head to my Twitch channel and type !server for the login information. You must be subscribed on Twitch to join, and have a Discord account. This is so we can moderate and manage the server due to demand. The server is open 24/7 and has a survival world, as well as a museum of every past build we've done on the channel.
New Earth Build Rules:
-No obnoxious floating text. No obnoxiously tall buildings.
-Respect the coastline and borders. Islands, continents and countries should retain their shape.
-Build the best you can. Low effort and unfinished constructions will be removed.
-Your building cannot just be a flag.
-No contemporary politics.
-No depictions of war, recent mass tragedy, racism or discrimination or hate symbols of any kind.
-Railways must be at ground level. Railways in the air are considered low effort and too tall. We recommend an underground metro instead.
-No pixel art. We find that this obscures other builds, and we plan to provide a space later.

This is our best take on New Russia! It's not geographically correct with our solid southern border, but that's only because Russia is so massive already. There was a lot that couldn't be featured in the 8 hours it took to tour this part of the server - I'd strongly recommend watching the broadcast on my Stream Archive Channel, which you can find here: ruclips.net/channel/UCyUmevTef0H-pFaspmfTb3Q
If anyone is looking for server information or login information, you can find all of it in the description of the video. The server is open 24/7 for Twitch Subscribers. And thank you to everyone who took part in this session!

OK so they're mixing up two instances of Olga of Kiev's savagery. Basically, this tribe named the Drevlians didn't want to pay taxes, so they killed the king Olga's husband. Then, to secure their powergrab, their leader wanted to marry her and sent some advisors to propse. She asked to honour them by letting them be carried in boats, which they accepted. At the end of the parade, Olga had some trenches dug, in which the diplomats were thrown and burried alive. Olga then sent a letter to the Drevlian leader accepting his proposal only if he sent his top advisors. When they arrived, Olga offered them a bathhouse in which to rest from the journey and subsequently burned the building to the ground with the advisors inside.
The thing with the birds happens later after Olga had amassed an army and laid siege to the Drevlian capital for a year. She offered peace in exchange for a tribute consisting of three pigeons and three sparrows from each houshold. To every bird was bound some cloth with a bit of sulphur which was ignited as the birds were released. As they flew home, their nests acted like tinder and the entire city caught on fire simulaniously.
PS: Olga of Kiev is also a saint in the Eastern Orthodox Church
A Saint? Hm... must've been chosen by the Old Testament God.
Damn. Don’t mess with anyone named Olga I guess.
@@gorbulations2425 her conversion was later in her life, about 10-12 years later, and her baptism into the Orthodox faith led the rest of the Rus to follow her, sparking the mass conversion of the Russians.

That Olga story is incorrect. Those were three different stories they’re mixing up. She did use sparrows and pigeons to light a revolting city on fire by tying tiny sacks to their feet and lighting them on fire. When the birds flew back to their nests the nests acted as kindling, igniting the house. For the sauna there was a city state trying to lay claim to Kiev via marriage. Olga saw through this and killed the initial mailmen then sent a message saying she accepted but needed a group of the cities elites to escort her. When they arrived she offered them a rest in the sauna, then locked the door and burned it down. She is a saint btw
When that happened on stream the chat was SAM O NELLA for 5 minutes
i have my doubts on that vodka story too tbh, alcohol has been one of the primary sources of clean drink for hundreds (or probably thousands) of years
Little addition: She did it to revenge her husband Igor. He tried to gain some money from people of Forest (Drevlyans) and they killed him for that.

More about Saint Olga of Kiev (yes, she's a saint): after her husband was killed, the killers first sent negotiators to convince Olga to marry the killer. She responded by having them, in their boat, carried into the city and dropped into a trench, where they were quickly buried alive. Then she summoned more nobles (who didnt know about the first group's fate), took them to the bathhouse, locked the doors, and lit it on fire (but not with pigeons).
The pigeons come in later, when she sieged the city of her husband's killers. She told them the siege would end if each household gave her 6 birds from their home. She took the birds, tied burning bundles to them, and freed them. The birds went back to their homes, landed in the thatch roofing, and gone was the city.
Damn.

34:00 is the Russian Woodpecker, an antenna array used as a radar to see over the horizon. Built during the cold war to detect ICBMs.
It's called the Russian Woodpecker because of the woodpecker sound it makes, which can be heard around the world because it's in the shortwave bands and interferes with broadcast and amateur radio transmissions. Cool to see it in minecraft, but the build does not fully show the sheer size of the actual thing lol

The Olga of Kiev tidbit is true, but not really. Here’s what happened:
Olga’s husband was killed by a rival tribe, who then sent suitors to marry her. She then had all of them buried alive
She then requested important figure heads to her town and led them to a sauna which she then had it locked and set alight
After she marched to the town with a large army, she then demanded a pigeon or canary from each household. After she received the birds, she then tied a burning cloth to each of the birds and set them free. The birds then flew back to their nest from each household and set it on fire

Those “Electrical Lines” are actually the Duga Radar System. It was a Soviet over-the-horizon radar (OTH) system used as part of the Soviet missile defense early-warning radar network. Noice. Why didn’t they make the moon landing though? Genuinely curious.
@@thatguyintherain3168 Most likely budget, plus they might not have seen any use for that. The Soviet Union mainly funded projects that could make them compete with the US's military power, that's why the Buran was created, in fear of the military capacity of such a craft. Of course, the US never had any military plans for those projects and when the Soviet Union saw that, they stopped looking to space as much.
At least that's what I think, I haven't looked that much into it, but seeing the reason for the Buran's death makes me think that it was something along those lines.
The notion that anyone really won the space race is absurd imo, since every country benefited from the technological developments. But if I had to look at the space race as win or lose senario I'd like to break it up into two parts: the soviets won the "space race" by getting the first man to space, and the US won the "moon race" by getting the first man to the moon.
@@plushthefox I don't know much about before that, but I do know that the Soviet Union also went bankrupt trying to keep up with the US during Reagan's "Star Wars" project. That was kind of the beginning of the end for the Soviet Union. But that's pretty interesting. I didn't know about the whole Buran thing. And it honestly doesn't surprise me that Russia was ahead in the space race, but they just couldn't keep it up financially more than likely.

You're saying Chuck E. Cheese wasn't already demonic? I mean, look at their prices...
Lizzie The Cat to be fair the games were always a quater.
Imagine how this would've been just a little bit later
Even without the builds, RT is so wholesome the videos are 200% worth it

I like how that "finland vs soviet union hockey match" was actually just a reference to the winter war

I genuinely love the history and the amazing builds
and I am so happy they implemented the customizable armor stands thing because it just opens up WORLDS of possibilities. I am also cringing for the poor server struggling to deal with all those entities
THAT "BLINDING LIGHTS" NOTE BLOCK DISPLAY WAS AWESOME
14:21 actually it’s not a hockey game bits the winter war between Finland and Russia. The timer shows how long the war was, while the scores for each nation shows the losses
Some of the flesh stuff might be a reference to SCP-610, nicknamed "The Flesh That Hates".
FINALLY a man of culture
Have you seen the flesh? It feeds us. It feeds us and we feed it and it feeds us in turn. We eat of the flesh of us, and we consume it. When we are sick, it cares for us, for sickness to us is not sickness to it. The grand Karcist will be back shortly.
I mean Sweden had the appropriate scp-3008 so there must be some SCP fans amongst the builders.
It makes sense because in the lore, SCP 610 was found in Russia.
@@springtrapcrafter5404 I think it's containment area was not in the build area in this video, but farther South.

YOOOO THE TOKYO GHOUL ONE IS AWESOME
the Cold War *did* get hot, several times, just not between the nuclear powers. saying it was a “war of tension” ignores the horrors experienced by the people of vietnam, afghanistan, and many, many others.
Calling it an indirect conflict with proxy wars would def be more appropriate, considering almost every single conflict between the end of ww2 and the end of the ussr could be boiled down to a us-backed group vs a ussr/china-backed group
*Crying in Latin American dictartoship
@@joaoassumpcao3347 Yeah, pretty much every conflict ended up that way. Even ones that didn't start with one side being backed by a communist country and the other by a capitalist one still ended up like that more or less.
11:38 I unironically like listening to this version, and would legit study to this 8-bit version. MEGA fair play.
