Very impressed with the presentation, this is my secont time through. I am very new to Elementor and this video has pushed me through a steep learning curve. Would love to know what radio or tv station you work for, fantastic speaker and you make things understandable, Thanks

Thank you! I'm glad you found it helpful. Let me know if there's anything important I skipped, and I can add it in a future video.
😀 I'm not an audio professional, but I have worked really hard to make the audio as clean as possible for my videos. Thanks for noticing!

When I click on the Blocks section, nothing is there, it says "Haven't saved templates yet? this is where your templates should be" Why does it say that and how can i get the blocks to appear?

I was seeing where some of the elements overlap and it seems Elementor (free) was being used. If you have the time would love to know more about how to do this sort of thing, Thanks

The easiest way to overlap elements is by using negative margin on an element to move it on top of another. You can use the z-index (advanced tab) to force one to overlap the other.
Another option is to use 'absolute positioning' which can be tricky for beginners. With either method, make sure you adjust layout for small screens too (using responsive mode).

@@BuildThatWebsite Using responsive mode? Are the rows built with a grid of columns? If so, then shouldn't the layout be responsive as long as the elements are inside a column within a row?

Yeah, responsive probably isn't the right word. Mobile-friendly is more accurate. The columns are automatically responsive in Elementor but you do need to tweak any font-sizes and custom-positioned images to make them display well when the layout goes to 1 column

Create beginner's tutorial. Do you have any others that expand on what you presented here?

There are more Elementor tutorials coming. Is there anything in particular you'd like a video about?
Later this week I'm uploading a video where I adapt the design of a popular website using Elementor.

@@BuildThatWebsite I am looking for something more lengthy, perhaps a full build of a new site. Once I see a decent full build, I will be comfortable enough to branch out on my own.
I look forward to the video you're releasing this week. That may be what I am seeking.

The upcoming video is a complete build of a complex homepage, but not an entire site. Could you describe your ideal tutorial with as much detail as possible? I'll do my best to make the type of content you're looking for.
Also, if you don't mind sharing:
      - Do you want the video to include general wordpress info as well (admin settings, post configuration, menus, etc). Or just design steps like Elementor.
      - Are you building websites for yourself, or do you want to build for clients?
      - What type of websites do you want to build: affiliate, blog, small business, e-commerce, personal, etc?
      - Who do you use for webhosting and how satisfied are you.
      Thanks!

@@BuildThatWebsite It would be helpful to know how to set up WP cleanly so the site isn't bogged down by plugins and settings that are part of the initial WP install. How about web page naming conventions? Making the URL SEO-friendly?
I want to eventually build sites for others once I am comfortable with WP. I am a hand coder that is making a leap to the drag and drop side because I will be a one-man operation. No need in getting distracted with code when there is a quicker way.
Kinds of sites - small business, informational, and eCommerce.
I am currently using Namecheap for hosting, but am going to try Elementor Cloud for my first WP build.

Gotcha, thanks. So you have some coding skills but are new to Wordpress. Are you interested in other page builders like the built-in Gutenberg block editor? Or mostly plan on using Elementor?
FYI, I definitely recommend using Elementor only for static pages and not for every blog post if you care about site speed.
I'll cover recommended plugins when I do my first site-build tutorial, but you usually don't need to worry about pre-installed plugins slowing your site unless you're using some bloated theme from themeforest that comes with 10 plugins. Not all plugins hurt site speed, and I run 60+ plugins on some older sites with load times under 1.5s.
Many people who have slow sites are using bad hosting like Hostgator, Bluehost, and other notoriously overloaded shared webhosts. Usually plugins aren't the main cause.

I don't do client work at the moment, just tutorials when I have free time. Sorry.
