Hey this is my sister and this isn't her at the actual audition...this is her at our local studio (at least 2 monthes after the actual audition,) showing us the choreo that she did for the audition.
@lilabaletpig When I was performing professionally in a contemporary jazz company my director only accepted people that were in college studying dance. We had rehearsals nights and weekends to avoid conflicting with school classes. I ended up getting injured pretty bad and i am no longer able to perform professionally :( but because of that I'm glad I was in school at the same time. However, I was in a lucky situation. Most companies, especially ballet, want you straight from high school.
Good point, Alex and WRITE... which is why I posted the above. She had forgotten a lot of it (thus walking to her next move and the other hiccups) but like I said... we begged her to perform it for us, even though it had been so long and she didn't have any warm up or review time. I can assure you... a lot more passion went into her actual audition then here, when she was pressured into performing it for her family and friends on the spur of the moment.
Yes, lauren, you would never want to do that in the actual audition or performance. This was just a quick review for family and friends. We begged her to show us the dance even though it had been months since she performed it for her audition.
for julliard do you have to only dance contemporary ....i mean i am a sport dancer and a ballerina ....and for julliard auditions i want to do something btw the 2 categories of dancing .....but should i either know very well contemporary??
She did a live audition because Juilliard never or rarely accepts a video audition. This was shot after we begged her to show us the choreography, months after her audition, at her local studio. She had a few hiccups here cuz she hadn't done it for so long and had no time to review... she was simply being a good sport so we could see a representation of what she had done earlier.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks so! My close friend was accepted into Julliard for dance, but just HARDLY got in, and she is AMAZING. Honestly, this girl is not that good. Her movements are way to stiff-and honestly, walking to your next move? You're at a Julliard Audition, put some passion into it! Her technique is not the best, either...I'm really surprised she made it in. She's a good dancer, but not great, and that's what I expect.
no offense but I am surprised you say you got into Julliard. I gradated from their about 2 years ago and don't think they wouldve let you in. You are way to stiff with your movements and dont show any passion in your dancing.
the song is closing- the phlilip glass ensemble if anyone was wondering! :)
YAY!I am soooo happy you got in, it was well deserved! I will be applying for Music (jazz) in a few years :)
You probably won’t see this but did you go to Juilliard I am also applying for jazz in a few years
Well deserved!!Great job!
She is Really Good ! What Type of Dance Does she do in Juilliard ?
Oh wow! Okay haha thank you for your help! I'm not sure if I should audition anymore but it's worth a shot!
flawless..did she make it?
I love the end when she walks off like "That's right, Take it all in." :)
julliard is my dream and youre my inspiration

Was it hard to get into Juilliard?
So did you actually get into Juilliard?
whats the name of this songe plz?
She did a live audition because Juilliard never or rarely accepts a video audition. This was shot after we begged her to show us the choreography, months after her audition, at her local studio. i loved it but whe she fixed her leotard in the middle of her dance it think it took something away from her performance :(
oh i typed in ballet auditions...thts why i was confused when she had socks on and was doing like..slow jazz....
i agree
this isn't the actual day she auditioned
just wondering.. but are there any specific requirements needed for an audition?
yes u need to be able to dance duh but u mainly need to be able to dance ballet
@xxfashionkittyxx u try and get into 1 of the top dance schools in the country

doesnt flow with the music sorry but im just giving advice im not trying to hate but good job your very good at dancing
but juiliard is profe.but if u think u have a good chance u have to not mess up be 100% perfect and get the ememnts right just saying
1:34 NEVER do that in an audition , julliard is all about the audition , don't walk in your routine
*auditioning
uhoh...
