I agree. The liners are so hard to get right with the pivot. It takes awhile to get it to swing open right with the liners sandwiching the blade together.
Dude, I really hope you get a commission for those scales. I just got the whole kit, with new lanyard tube, body screws, pocket clip, and scales. Thanks for the vid. I didn't know where to get the Ti scales for the XL.
🤦🏼♂️ and I thought I was going to leave my XL alone 😂 Happy to know I'm not the only one so hyperfocused in everything going back together that I forget to clean and oil it 😂 Rockscale makes cool stuff! Now you need to fall down the rabbit hole of pocket clips 😂 clips are like an addiction inside an addiction inside and addiction inside a hobby. 😂 Welcome to the Manix Modder Posse. 🎉
One advantage I had putting mine back together is I used a medium strength after market spring it made my Manix XL so smooth it's nuts, and I polished my washers and in the end product perfection drop shut an extremely manipulative
Yup with very little bit tweak U could make it perfect little bit a blue lock tight polished inside washers on the blade side not scale side oiled and it'll be smooth as glass literally with lighter spring medium spring is what made world of difference big time, mine is drop Shuty seriously all-time fav and I've some favorites, not as happy with my Spyderco Subvert or Drunken as I am wit rebuilt Manix XL It's pure joy lol
It's so much easier if you do one side at a time. And yes rockscale design scales are awesome! I like how they made the disengagment area for the ad20.5 larger. I wish contoured scales!
Personally I like the Micarta look on show side and Titanium on the clip side. Much easier on the pants pocket. Wish companies would allow you to only buy one half of titanium scales.
I got the crucarta Manix 2 and botched it with some metonboss scales, lanyard plug and flytanium ball cage. The jimped backspacer should arrive sometime this month, I've been waiting on that to take it apart again because it isn't a user.
Put deep extra long lynch clip on it and if it's a medium strength spring it'll be as perfect as mine even more so cause U've Cru wear whereas mine is S30V
I'm just curious why you didn't put the titanium scale on the first side. Turn it over and do the other, and it wouldn't be in pices. Or did I miss something?
You can do that if you are inly swapping scales. To remove the ball cage like I did you have to take it all apart...I think. Maybe there still was a more efficient way to do it.
Even though I generally like larger knives I would have to go with the regulat Manix just because it's more balanced between length and width. Th XL almost seems to thin for now long it is. Still totally awesome, but the regular just seems slightly more balanced
These install and basically look the same as the AWT. The liner less make the Manix so much better in my opinion. Good job!!!

@J_O_N_Butler yes, they also are kinda sharp after using the knife for a long time.
I totally agree!
@@edged_mindsetwant to sell those micarta scales?
@@JustinBrown25 I think I will hold onto them. Never know when I might want to switch back
I appreciate your honesty and I was actually noticing that the regular sized one looked enough for my xl hands in the choked up position
Let me know what you decide

I wish man. I need to work on that. Vosteed and Remette will send me budget knives to review but that's it.

Nice!
Where’d you pick up that spring from?
Definitely I can tell the only thing U really need to do is change the spring to a medium will make it fantastic

Looks so much better now!
I agree!
I'll watch so hoping it turns out as Great as mine
👊
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Made it look easy
It really asnt bad
Very cool.
A whole new knife...👊
Now I'm thinking about another Manix XL Cru-wear and switch things up again no doubt
😁
Must feel a lot more solid
It does!

I thought the crucarta manix 2 couldnt accept aftermarket scales? Maybe im wrong
@@1ecobeast7 Mine did. The closing is slightly rough due to the custom ball cage but everything is on.

I only wish these after market scale companies would offer a left handed version
Yeah. Lame. They just need to tap the otherside, not that hard
They do offer it, all of them do. All you gotta do is reach out to them or leave a note on your order. It's more effective than complaining about it.
I was looking for ball cage and found tension spring in ball cage area on ebay
I used a Black Ti ball cage and changed spring to medium cause all my screws and blade black S30V
Nice
Do you think spending the extra $40 on the S110V version is worth it from the S30V version?

No way in hell I'd throw a folder in my pocket when playing basketball...lol
🤣🤣🤣 What about pickleball? I have done that with this knife 😁
So now that you have the right scales on both Manix and Xl models which one do you like best?
I wear a xl glove and I'm not sure what to get?
Even though I generally like larger knives I would have to go with the regulat Manix just because it's more balanced between length and width. Th XL almost seems to thin for now long it is. Still totally awesome, but the regular just seems slightly more balanced
Or should I get the cruwear?
Cruwear all the way (assuming rust won't be an issue) if rust is a problem go with s110v
You should do a vid on all your users
Good idea
By snail trails do you mean scratches?
Scratches and scuffs yes
@edged_mindset how's it looking after some use?
@asherrose6594 I was looking even better (unfortinatly I sold it when I lost my job)
@@edged_mindset that sucks... I bought a manix 2 xl in cruecarta, and just ordered the textured version of the ones you bought! We'll see it goes
Why are all these scales so slick? Same with AWT... Slippery and slick!!! South Florida heat and sweat make these a poor option!
I would recommend sticking with G10 then. I don't live in Florida.
It's liner less
