  • I'm continuing to add to my catalogue of grasshopper tutorials, this one being point attractors. It will cover what an attractor is, how to build a field of points on surfaces and utilize vectors to manipulate geometry. Let me know of any additional tutorials/subjects you can think of!

thank you soooo much for your tutorial. I am getting an A on my grasshopper architecture visualization assignment. You helped me understand. I've created my own script but I needed a tutorial on how to add more than one tractor points for my script and it worked. Ive checked multiple tutorials online and this one stood out the most.

Awesome tutorial man. Is there ways to use different shapes? Like hexagons or squares? Thanks

if you mean different shapes for paneling the surface, then check out Lunchbox plugin as it has tons of paneling tools!

Hi Andrew, great tutorial, is it possible for you to make a tutorial using a building as an example? let me know if i can mail you the details, thanks.

what type of building are you thinking? This is very easy to implement in facade design for example.

So am I right in saying you can use that graph function (whatever this is in 10:30) to essentially change the gradient of the attraction point?

Simply put yes. I mean it can remap any set of numbers and is very useful in gradients for attractors. (Notice one of the graph types is a gaussian which is a type of gradient/blur).

Hi Andrew, would this work as well if I brep selected a closed polysurface?
