Kennedy, in all seriousness - I used to be TERRIFIED of driving. Possibly even worse than you. However, I had to force myself to drive to school every day because there was no other way to get there and it took me less than 2 months and my fear was pretty much gone. Yes, you will get honked at every once in a while, take a wrong turn, and panic because you can't find parking but that's NORMAL. When you have such a big fear, you have to face it *regularly* to overcome it. Like deadass, try to drive to random pretty places such as the park or the lake a couple times a week and I promise you in a few weeks that fear will be completely gone and you will get so much better and more confident at driving. Driving has become such a relaxing activity for me which I never thought was possible :) Just do it regularly and have confidence in yourself.

Does anyone watch LaurDIY? She talked about fear of throw up too. And her therapist said that it doesn’t exactly the throw up that gives the fear. It is the feeling of no control. :0 Bc our body isn’t suppose to throw up, and when u do, u mostly can’t control it. Idk of Kennedy’s Situ ion is similar but thought it’s interestedint
I used to have it until I developed a digestive disease- it caused me to have a fear of going outside too because I couldn’t control my situation or what my body was doing

I was terrified of driving as well. Shortly after I got my license I didn't manage to get the car started at a green light... Like seven times. Everybody behind me was honking at me and then the light went red again. :) luckily my mom was with me and she ran around our car to the driver's seat to take over... I CLIMBED over to the passenger seat 🥴 anyhow - I got used to driving, the more I drove. It's hard the first few weeks, but it really gets better☺

I have emetophobia too!! (Fear of throw up) it affects my life more than I used to think. After deep diving into it I realized it controls who I am and what I do. I’m afraid to take medication, to work out, to eat too much, eat too little, go on rollercoasters, ride in the backseat of a car, get pregnant or have children, etc. It literally controls me. It’s a really shitty phobia to have so I definitely relate to you Kennedy, and anyone else who struggles with it! You aren’t alone!! 🖤

I also struggled with drivers anxiety for the longest of time and still do occasionally. One thing I can say is that it’ll definitely get easier as you put yourself out there. Usually once you do it you end up realizing that you had nothing to be fearful of in the first place. A lot of the time we overthink things that haven’t even happened yet so try not to psych yourself out. Try listening to one of your favorite songs as you drive or play a podcast you enjoy It might help you feel better. You got this girl just have confidence!

That cleaning montage was so calming and super motivating. I’ve been putting off basic chores like laundry and grocery shopping because I’ve been feeling in my own head for the past couple weeks. I have emetophobia too!! (Fear of throw up) it affects my life more than I used to think. After deep diving into it I realized it controls who I am and what I do. I’m afraid to take medication, to work out, to eat too much, eat too little, go on rollercoasters, ride in the backseat of a car, get pregnant or have children, etc. It literally controls me. It’s a really shitty phobia to have so I definitely relate to you Kennedy, and anyone else who struggles with it! You aren’t alone!! 🖤

i'm so proud of you ken👏 I am dealing with anxiety too (social anxiety), this week has been stressful bc uni virtual lessons are back and the idea of speaking in class terrifies me. But we can improve little by little :) exercise helps me a lot personally, i am currently taking dance classes since i don't like going to the gym and i was able to socialize a bit ☺️

I also struggled with drivers anxiety for the longest of time and still do occasionally. One thing I can say is that it’ll definitely get easier as you put yourself out there. Usually once you do it you end up realizing that you had nothing to be fearful of in the first place. A lot of the time we overthink things that haven’t even happened yet so try not to psych yourself out. Try listening to one of your favorite songs as you drive or play a podcast you enjoy It might help you feel better. You got this girl just have confidence!
