Thank y'all again for an incredible year, everyone! More bass in 2022!🎉
Really like the variety and that you included some metal stuff! I feel like a lot of 'pocket' style bass youtubers just don't play metal. You and Navarro are a breath of fresh air for that. Happy New Year!
I appreciate that, man! Cheers!
Nice diverse choices! No matter the genre gotta love a good bass line! 😊👍
Good bass lines make the world go round!
King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard deserves more recognition for the solid bass lines in all their work :c
either way, good list and nice variety!
I like the new space that you're filming in!
Really glad to see Chvrches and Turnstile on here.
Only glaring omission I can think of is some kind of Omnific riff. Their album Escapades has a lot of tasty bass on it. I had Wax & Wane on repeat for a large portion of the year.
Man that Kings of Leon record reallllllllyyy grew on me. One of my top 2021 records for sure
SERIOUSLY! Happy new year bubba!
Amazing new music for my hears! Thank you!
You clearly listen to a lot more new music than I do. I have a playlist of "Best Songs of 2021" and I'm not sure it contains 21 songs, let alone 21 with good bass lines. I'm also impressed with the genre diversity.
good stuff ma man!!
The idea of this videos has so many layers of awesomeness. Great stuff
Great playing!
Thank you for turning me on to some cool new stuff. Great video. Cheers
So happy to see “Shoulders” start it off, as I have had that song on a constant repeat since it came out. Happy New Year, man!!
Dude YES! I'm so excited for them to release more singles and the eventual new album! Cheers and happy new year brother!
Dude, I love hearing you talk about gear and all, but you are a REALLY talented bassist. Kudos!
Patrick VERSATILE Hunter!
astonishing bass tones and playing 👏
Nice mix! So Interesting!
Dawning of the Season is truly one of my biggest discovery in 2021
lot of good stuff here and very good sound
Very good 👏🏻❤️
nice!a bit of everything well played
Happy New Year!
Great stuff and tunes/songs 👍👍
And I think also some were better with your frontal bass sound on them 🔥❤❤
Showin love to coheed. Lot of good baselines from them 🤟🏽
Wow, 2021 went by quick, hopefully 2022 will finally be the turning point of the last 2 years haha. Happy new year!
-Greetings from Sweden:)
We just gotta keep our heads up man, we got this! Happy new year!
@@patrickhunter Whatever looks like another year of sitting inside playing bass and having Zoom though:/ Can’t really complain tbh it’s better than going to work/school
that Shoulders line has been stuck in my head from day 1, so fun
Happy New Year to you!
PS: i really need to invest in a Mustang just like yours. It is gorgeous!
Patrick, this was awesome. I missed a bunch of these songs and I'm looking forward to going back and learning a few of these, particularly, Clockwork Wolf & Co. Live Your Fate. You missed "Chondromalacia Patella" by Black Midi. Cameron Picton is a mind blowing young bassist who will take you down a bit of a different path. Thanks again for the great video.
Thank you for recognizing gojiras bassist
Typhoons (the album) definitely has to be my favorite music of past 2 years
Great lines. How do you go about finding new music?
You need to teach us how to get that heavy rock tone with flatwounds such as in the first song!!! great video btw
I knew fly as me would be here!
Press to meco are so good, so them live ealier this year had never heard of them before and they blew me away. Gold is literally one of my favourite ever guitar riffs.
YES YES YESSSS DUDE! I got introduced to them a few years ago and have loved them since, such powerful riffs and their vocal harmonies are out of this world
@@patrickhunter definitely see them live if you have the chance. You won't regret it. Best band I've seen in a long time. 🤘🤘
Jimmy Jimmy by Gorillaz had a killer bass line, definitely a hell of a lot of fun to play
Man the whole EP is gold!
Patrick Hunter Definitely, Gorillaz always kill it with each release
This is probably your best bass riffs of the year video yet! By the way, I really like your favorite riff, too!
Holy shit Pat, I broke my neck head banging to the first riff
I loved playing along with songs on Chevelle’s new album
Coheed and Cambria rocks!
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Rad list, great playing and amazing tones! Happy New Year, Patrick! 🥳 💥 🥂
Happy new year, man!!!!!!❤️
One more suggestion: “Harridan” by Porcupine Tree.
Damn that Magdalena Bay line is smooooooooth
I got busy repeating Famous thanks to the bassline
Could you play some more Royal Blood? And also happy new year 🤘
The bass in wallflower by jinjer was sick
Man the green j bass is growing on me
You clearly enjoy playing that poplar burl top Stingray more than your other Basses. It’s ok, I won’t tell them! Love your year end bass wrap ups.
Love the list! I'm trying to tab out Goodbye based on your playthrough, did you go off your ear or see it written down somewhere?
Wow did not know Press to Meco, that song is insane!
Well done, dear Doppelgänger.
Not that you need the encouragement from a stranger, but can I just say how amazing your playing has gotten? Don't get me wrong, it's always been good. But you can really tell the difference if you listen to this video versus some videos from years ago.
Those Royal Blood lines never disappoint.
NEVER!🤘
they just rip off death from above 1979 who im glad got the appreciation they deserve in this video
@@quntumnmly7431 I mean the whole duo thing I can see but the riffs I don’t hear.
@@quntumnmly7431 all music is a ripoff of something else. Its called inspiration lol
@@slave2thesystem there's a difference between inspiration and blatant copying
Skeletons by easy life was easily my favourite bass line this year
Good list patrick....thrice scavengers have to be in your next cover video....🤪🤪
Coheed always has the tastiest riffs.
This green jazzbass sounds insane...
Oh man what a fantastic choice for a personal favourite. Saw Press To Meco live and that bass was just pure nasty shit.
What was that p bass you used at the very start? The one with the gold pickgaurd. That looks and sounds beautiful!!
a tear in the fabric of life had such a nasty heavy basstone with some excellent precision, kinda hoped to see where the lights divide the holler
still stoked to see turnstile on here broeder
Asunder by Kim Normal has a phenomenal bass line. That bands definetly worth a listen, their bassist is so different.
Yo Pat, how did you get that tone on song 11? I love it
Have a listen to Wolf Alice - Smile. Really love playing that riff
Get video!! What’s the bass used on the DFA 1979 track?
Its a Harley Benton RB-414CS Classic Series
YES I LOVE COHEED AND CAMBRIA
Hallo Patrick! Happy New Year! Excuse me, which strings are you playing on the first bass (Fender Classic Series 50's Precision Bass)?
I like how Lemmy played
How did I know Shoulders would be the first one?? Patrick, your COTF is showing
Brotha you missed face to face - no way out but through you need check it this album an amazing job of scott schiflett
Wanted to say that also! Killer basslines
Yesss Magdalena Bay and Japanese Breakfast!
Any update on the sire headstock ?
Check bass riff in Booster - Crust Starion or any other from the same album.
You could have played anything from the new Gojira record. It's all mind blowingly good. Best metal album of the last decade at least
Nice video! Hb rb 414 🤩🤩🤩
Interesting selection of artists good percentage never listened to so some cool bass lines to learn, pretty sure hiatus kaiyotes new album dropped this year?otherwise I'm perplexed as to why it's not on this list being a bass player that clearly has his ear to the ground far as new music goes,no hate:)great bass playing
What about Iron Maiden? Death Of The Celts is a great intro!
Hey, did I see a HB BZ4000NT hanging on your wall? I also have it and would really appreciate to know how you feel about it. Can you please do a review on it? Thanks and cheers from Belgium.
Happy new year to everyone!!!
Sam
I think he did do this already in a cheap basses review somewhere if I find it I’ll link.
He already did a review: ruclips.net/video/UHPBZy6MRDE/видео.html
Sadly this model has been discontinued by Harley Benton... right at the time as I finally scraped the money together for that bass :(
@@KrisperKenvue thanks man for the link. Well, as mentioned, I owe one of those and it seems to have neck bend only from setting the snares in tune… so the neck is kind of weak. Notice I’m a starter so I might be B.S.ing 🥴
what picks do u use??
Chvrches!!! Screen Violence is my album of the year!
Hey Patrick, I'm building a pedal board whats the best power supply in your opinion?
"As always, every year...the last couple of years..."
The Omnific - Antecedent. 3 bassists baybeeee
hey there, by any chance can I have bass tabs for #10?
I feel like you would like An Underground by The Gazing Eyes
Parcels ❤️
Hey brother you forgot “Savengers” by Thrice!! 🤘
I love royal blood
Death From Above 1979 🥰
nice to see them get some well deserved recognition
Ayo why my guys at spiritbox not on the list.
Great list, check out suspended 4th, they got some tasty bass riffs and the bass player posts on RUclips.
The KOL line is hella nice. The album wasn't great but it definitely had its moments
Check out Hastratta from the Dirty Loops/Cory Wong album. It’s ridiculous.
Anyone know any good ones in the jazz, hip hop, or r&b realm?
Ok but the star of the show for me here is the thundercat shirt where does someone snag that?
MANCHESTER ORCHESTRA BAYBEEE!!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Magdalena Bay had some amazing bass lines
I'm surprised no Mastodon in here.
As a 60 year old, I can say that none of those songs have I ever heard of. How did you learn of these songs?
Did you out a p-bass neck on all your basses? Or am I just confused.
Wtf is that fanned spector when did that happen
New for this year. A bunch of the bass RUclipsrs did reviews of them.
You haven't played the T40.. and I don't think I can forgive you!
