I came for driving tips before a large drive around Spain and my partner and I ended up staying at Parador de Lerma, Hondarribia, and Oropesa and had a lovely time at each. We would have missed these real gems without having stumbled across your videos and can not say thank you enough!
I have many memorable experiences of staying in paradores over the years. My favorites have been the paradores of Toledo, with its magnificent views, Guadalupe, Siguenza, Ronda (right on the cliffs!) and Carmona, a rehabilitated Arabic fortress with sweeping views of the Andalusian countryside.

I have returned from my sabbatical throughout Spain y Morocco and I want to type how much I enjoyed your videos and the tips you recommended for Barcelona, Madrid, Malaga y Sevilla were spot on! We're planning a big trip to Spain in May 2024. We looked at staying at the Parador in Granada, but it's extremely expensive. The ones in Toledo and Cordoba look like they are out of town or away from the main attractions. We're trying to decide about whether to spend 4 nights in Madrid and 3 nights in San Sebastian (Probably 2 full days), or 3 nights in Madrid and 4 nights in San Sebastian (3 full days there).
We are traveling from Madrid to Siguenza in October 2024. Trying to use the train but the schedules do not seem convenient. We land in Madrid at 6 a.m. and wanted to take the train to Siguenza as soon as possible since we have been to Madrid before. Help? Gracias.
This summer of 2024 we will stay in the paradores of Lerma, Salamanca, Carmona and Granada during our tour of Spain. I have stayed in the parador of Carmona before and enjoyed it so much I want to share the experience with my son who has never visited Spain before.
We've stayed at 9 Paradores (if my math is correct) and will say that, even though they can be expensive, it is well worth it if you are a lover of medieval history. Leon, Zamora, and Zafra are next on our list. Eventually I want to do a driving trip to all the Paradores that sit along the Pyrenees.
Thanks Fred, Paradores are wonderful. And in the current context of absurd price rises in hotels throughout Spain, they are not as expensive as they used to be.

Love this! We have stayed in paradores in Cuenca, Alcala, Avila and, Lerma so far, and Cuenca was my favorite with spectacular views!
