I'm so interested in the story, it's like pretty common love-story but BL, what more can we ask, and boys are doing really good job portraying the characters, I love actors a lot, at last they're adults, but now it's chana and their restrictions...not one but the other in the way of BL...yeah...

I actually somehow enjoy the feeling that because of the ban, actors had to find other ways to express the REAL relationship other than kisses and bed scenes. Their eyes explain everything.

This is exactly what I've been trying to verbalize since I started watching C-dramas based on BL novels! It's very easy for directors to have 2 characters kiss and call it a day but the way the ban forces the cast to find different ways of expressing that love is pretty incredible. Especially the acting with the eyes. It's like a million emotions run through them sometimes.

They would of had some crazy love hate sex scenes... This is the second Chinese BL series that I loved but they made it a bromance... The first was Advance Bravely... Omg they were sooooooo beautiful lol all of the guys in the show... Damn it should be a crime for them to be that dreamy looking 🤤🤤🤤... okay sorry for getting off topic but I completely agree... It lost a lot of potential 😭
YesPlease totally agree! Like my other favourites show were turned from BL in novel to bromance in movies/shows.. Have you watched Advance Bravely and Guardian? The couples in this shows have looooottttttt of chemistry that it should be actual BL version even in show! I'm so disappointed~ 😩😩😭😭😭😭

For those who still complain about lack of BL, please leave, don't waste your time here, if this eyeSEX isn't a confirmation of their love then go and read the original novel, it will explode your brain)))) it's not necessary to have kisses or bed scenes on cam, these Chinese bromances are beyond way better than those mediocre-plot Thai ones (a few exceptions like always). Thank God, Korea also started to give us, high-quality BL series :3

Actually, I'm fine with bromance, as long as they don't add an unnecessary female lead. Relationships don't need to be explicitly shown, subtle affection is still affection. What needs to be shown is how much a character means to the other (and vice-versa). Acceptance takes time, but China really do have some of the most amazing BL stories out there.

I might be repeating my comment but seriously everyone, you guys need to read the novel. its a bl originally and the translated version is on wattpad. it's the best bl novel ever!!! like ive read it twice and i still cant get enough of Gu qing pei and yuan yuang!! i ended up reading the novel first with these 2 main leads in mind *drool* and let me tell you, i frikkin loved the novel so much, its very explicit..which i like and it made me obssess over the bl! i so wanted more of these 2 that i then heard the radio series, which is more explicit than the show but less than the novel. and i still wanted more of these 2 that i ended up watching the drama. trust me, read the novel first, the subtle hints in the drama will come to life once you've read the novel. i know im super disappointed too with the whole china ban but i do not regret one bit reading the novel, and i hate reading, so that says a lot! this is the best bl novel i have ever read! its frikkin amazing!. also you can watch there are some scenes from the novel that the cast of the drama enacted(the bl parts that is) during a fan meet!

Hi, I love this series, it is my 3rd time watching it. If you read the novel. You would know how Yuan Yang and Gu did fell in love with each other. I know because the Chinese Gov did some censors it was not permitted to make the series exactly how the novel was written. I am not Chinese I'm a Canadian who loves the Asian culture. If you have a chance please do read much more of the novel that inspired this series. Although it is not like the novel, I love both GU and YuanYang characters' looks thinking they might be who the novel's characters are.
Is it just me or Gu Qing Pei does look a bit like Simon Gong Jun (Xia Yao from Advanve Bravely)? Either way, they both are cute!! Xia Yao with his adorable grin, Qing Pei with his cute dimple and Shen Wei (from Guardian) with his charming crinkles eye smile~ oh my, i just love them soooo much!!!! 😍😍❤❤❤

'Cause you can still feels satisfy watching their interaction here and there.. 😁
If you want to feel giddy and excitedly giggling, you can watch Advance Bravely. It may seems like a bromance at first, but it slowly developing toward BL at the end.. You can see it, i promise.. 😄😄

Yup, novel is completely BL. You can find the translation on wattpad under the same name. There are only a few chapters out though. If you're craving some other source, you can check out the radio drama on youtube. It's the condensed novel version. Kiwi Chan is translating it and we have episode 4 part 1 out of 7 episodes total. It's really good. LOL.

It is a BL drama but China has strict laws against it so it was watered down into a bromance much like many others. The directors really do try to portray the relationship beneath many complex layers.
The fact that this is a bromance series and not bl series makes me sad and angry.

Everyone is upset that this is a bromance and not a romance. I read the book. I'm so glad it's not a romance. Otherwise we would be watching one rape scene after another. To me it's not a romance at all. It's a rapist's obsession in wanting his rape victim to love him. Yet he has the nerve to say that his victim owes him 2 years of his life for successfully escaped his grasp.
