    Missed Paulino's 48.17 #4 all-time & 1st all sub 50s W400m race; Missed Marco Arop missing out on 800m Gold by 0.01s; Missed USA M&W's 4x4 Teams missing the WRs by just over 0.1s!
    S/O Thiam, Kipyegon & Crouser for being the only 3 T&F Athletes to 3-Peat ('16, '21 & '24). Mondo, Crouser, Kipyegon & El Bakkali are the only 4 athletes to win individual Gold in the last 4 Global Champs so on track to make it 5 in a row @'25 Tokyo WC. Katie Moon would've been #5 but narrowly missed out following her Silver Medal in the PV which was won by Nina Kennedy. S/O both Sifan Hassan for being such a talented & entertaining maniac with her 2nd successive OLY medalling in 3 Distance Events & JCQ's consistency for being the only female sprint hurdler to medal in each of the last 4 Global Champs! Zurich DL has confirmed Mondo will race Karsten over 100m on Wed Sept. 4 the day before the main meet which will have Hocker, Kerr, Nuguse & Jakob race the 1500m on Thurs Sept. 5 🔥🔥🔥

    In my opinion whatever caused the delay in starting the 100m men's disadvantaged Tebogo and Thompson. Tebogo also lost 21 days after his mum died. After seeing him practice here in Botswana we thought he would get silver to Thompson but my hat's off to Lyles. It will be interesting to see Tebogo & Thompson in the Diamond League. Really wish you guys had been there to see the reception live here in Gaborone.

    30:33 - Part of the bonus the US Relay had in the 80's and 90's was that ¾ of their relay were Santa Monica Track Club members and they specialized in relay running. The US almost never had to think about "practice" because their guys practiced together all year and year after year!!

      True, but he tested positive from Tuesday 6th and tested negative on Saturday 10th. That’s believable for a super fit athlete.
      I’m no athlete, but when I had Covid in 2022 I only tested positive for 3 days on lateral flow tests and the only symptom I had was a slight runny nose for 2 days. Some people have good immune systems.

      @@crabb9966 Of course it is. Just because your only noticeable symptom whilst not pushing your body hard is a runny nose doesn’t mean it’s not going to affect you if you run 200m as fast as you can.
      I’m sure my own 200m sprint would have been affected when I just appeared to have a runny nose with Covid if I tried to run it as fast as I can.
      Covid is an upper respiratory infection, so you aren’t gunna be at 100% performance when you have it, even if you have it mild.
      That said, I’ll only give Lyles 50/50 at best he could have beaten Tebogo’s 19.46 on the day if he didn’t have Covid. He’s only run faster than that once.

    I think Shacari like the outside lanes. I don't think she can handle the pressure when her competition is next to her. From what I saw in the Olympics if Shacari had the middle lanes in the world champs she wasn't going to win.

      @Tadaia Месяц назад +3

      She won Doha in 2023 in lane 6 right next to Shericka Jackson, setting a meet record. She also won gold at the trials in lane 5 or 6. She was in lane 5 at the Olympics in 4x100 when she levitated past the field for gold.😂 I think being denied entrance and not having a proper warmup before the final might've impacted her performance.

      @@talkingitout1623 I’m not sure. I disagree with KT going 9.6s high/9.7s low had he stayed relaxed. At 60m KT split 6.40s in Paris. Nobody is going 9.6s while splitting 6.40s. I mean, we can do the math and say that Usain Bolt could have (6.40+3.27=9.67s) but only Bolt has ever gone sub 3.3s from 60...100m.
    Regardless, in all of Bolt's sub 9.7s performances he always split 6.3s low, namely 6.31s in his 9.58s and 6.32s in his 9.63/9.69s.
    Tyson Gay split 6.36s in his 9.69s.
    Yohan Blake split 6.33s in his 9.69s.
    So, 6.40s just no. KT could have maybe ran 6.40+3.37=9.77s if he had stayed relaxed throughout.

    I don't want to dispute what you both say and love your podcast but you are both wrong look it up in the Olympic rules when awarding medals and a photo finish develops the rules say that the race and winner is determined in the 100th second not 1000th seconds. So in actual fact the 100th second puts Kishane and Noah as 9.79 and both should've received a gold medal look back in the 2008 olympics when degrasse and Trevon bromell both were awarded the bronze medal with the time of both was rounded off to the 100th second not 1000th.
