Mate, this interview has had a profound effect on me. What Marv said about his dad, and the love he's able to express, despite what's happened. Well it's helped me massively with my own past. This is why these interviews are so important. And the fact you're doing them Liam is of huge importance. Because you've got your own underworld experiences, you don't get your guests to always dwell on them. You're not that amazed by it all, because you've been there and got the whole tracksuit, not just the t-shirt. That means You approach it in a completely new direction and bringing out sides to these guests that no other interviewer has done so far.
How the fuck can someone get out the car and stab up an innocent person, probably on his way home from work to see his family? And to top it off, he says he hates bullies. What a fucked up world we live in.
Heard Marvin’s story a thousand times before but for some reason he always draws me back in. And your podcasts are up there with the best so I will be giving this a listen
He thanked his dad for being beaten by him, because he actually thinks that his dad helped him be strong with the life he had, but Mark doesn’t realise if his dad didn’t abuse him and was a decent father he wouldn’t of ended up with that life. So sad watching him as he’s not well mentally.
Marvs a walking contradiction lol. Hate burglaries but only stopped after going to jail for one. Hate people who prey on the weak but he beat up drug users struggling with addiction or some poor geezer who just trod on his foot by mistake. Hate nonces but he wouldn’t beat one up in jail as not gonna get more bird for it, but then says if ones in his cell he’d knock them out. Hates drug dealers but dealt in prison etc. Wtf i’m lost lol…
I’ve seen most of Marv’s podcast appearances and am always fascinated by his story. I originally thought the breaking voice and borderline tears when recalling his earlier childhood was a bit of an act. Not in the sense of deception but more like he was trying to force himself to feel the true sadness that’s been buried beneath endless layers of indifference to feelings. Am I waffling?
I accept it must be difficult keeping his story alive after we’ve heard it so many times, but Christ he does go off on some bollox from time to time. It would make a great movie.
I’d still say Darren Gee is the main attraction. He’s the one you should try and get on. He has that aura about him. When I watched Darren talk recently about his mental health and what he thinks about on a daily basis about taking everyone with him i genuinely believe him 110%. He grabs the listeners attention. Scary character who could switch instantly.
He's a walking contradiction, my favourite is when he said he doesn't hate nonces because he wasn't nonced up so he wouldn't hurt one in in jail and risk doing bird for it and then 5 mins later "yeah done a couple of nonces inside avent I, nothing I ain't done" 🤣🤣 he incorporates media headlines into his stories to embellish his story because it'd be standard without it! Notice how he doesn't actually answer Tufty's questions? "so what did you do?"... "Ahh uno nothing we didn't do"... An example would be amazing Drippy Mc'dripperson 😴
Brilliant interview Liam, wishing marvin the very best of luck in his quest to help people make something of themselves...God bless you both.....❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
He’s always rubbing and scratching and eating spitting food all over . Seems to live with a juice cup in his hand also . Why you got to keep eating berries and nuts can’t it wait for an hour interview . And all the scratching and rubbing would do my head in . Hair frizzy runni my fingers through then back on the berries
It's a shame he didn't get chance to reflect at a younger age. I can see his past greatly effected him, it's a shame he didn't realise he was making people feel the same way as he did fearing his dad.
Got to give the man some respect he done some naughty things but didnt know any better at least he is humble now turned his life around and trying to show these wannabe gangsters the way forward i would hate being young now so much hate out there on the streets!
