Legit, sang choir from grade 1 to 12 mostly in boy choirs, Nothing like that bass silently bringing colours to your ears you never knew existed. Almost in tears. Was recruited to the drankensberg boys choir in grade 5 but it was too far so my mother didnt allow me back then, this makes me wish I can harmonise in a choir again. Ive missed it so much.
BEAUTIFUL! I adore you guys. I am from Bulgaria. I visited the Drakensberg Boys Choir when I was 19, then 28 then 37. For me, it tells the story of South Africa. And it always leaves me with one message - OF HOPE.
As an old boy, I am so proud of these guys. This is a beautiful finessed rendition. As a bass myself I appreciate that voice, but the other boys are so beautifully balanced and tuned. Well done, fellas!
One of the highlights of our trip to SA. We had refreshments after the concert and we found all the pupils of this amazing school so refreshing. Courteous, confident, helpful and simply glowing.
I was happy for the young boys it was my first time to watch and listen to their music in Eswatini at house on fire thanks to my Mr Fullard of South Africa who made it possible
Amazing. The rendition is even much better than the original song. The bass is so outstanding. Love this song all the way from the Rift Valley in Kenya🇰🇪🇰🇪
Hi Markus, glad you enjoyed it. Our content will be available on multiple platforms in the near future as we finilise publishing and distribution. Keep an eye out on our socials.
I keep listening to this song. Such a beautiful version - I just love the parts as they come through perfectly blended in. But I must say - that Bass 👍 Well done to each person and the part you played - BEAUTIFUL
This is magical. I will probably comment on this time and again as I revisit this song. I was so sad to be a girl in South Africa in my youth as I so longed to be part of this choir. This was decades ago. Still magical to hear these voices though. Ke a leboga
Stop the clocks, it's amazing You should see the way the light dances off your head A million colours of hazel, golden and red Saturday morning is fading The sun's reflected by the coffee in your hand My eyes are caught in your gaze all over again We were love drunk, waiting on a miracle Tryna find ourselves in the winter snow So alone in love like the world had disappeared Oh, I won't be silent and I won't let go I will hold on tighter 'til the afterglow And we'll burn so bright 'til the darkness softly clears Oh, I will hold on to the afterglow Oh, I will hold on to the afterglow The weather outside's changing The leaves are buried under six inches of white The radio is playing, Iron & Wine This is a new dimension This is a level where we're losing track of time I'm holding nothing against it, except you and I We were love drunk, waiting on a miracle Tryna find ourselves in the winter snow So alone in love like the world had disappeared Oh, I won't be silent and I won't let go I will hold on tighter 'til the afterglow And we'll burn so bright 'til the darkness softly clears Oh, I will hold on to the afterglow Oh, I will hold on to the afterglow Oh, I will hold on to the afterglow
Can't stop listening to this song! Much better than Ed Sheran! WOW!!! May God bless your choir! The world should listen to you. Even Rian from Jacaranda could not get the words when Ed was singing it. But he should listen to you!!! Keep on you are AMAZING!!!
I first heard of the DBC when I visited friends living in South Africa back in 1998 (My first time visiting Africa). I went to one of the Wednesday concerts at the school and was amazed by the quality of the singing I heard. I was so fortunate to experience the choir again at their farewell concert in Joburg before they went on their tour with the songs from Lion King and the traditional songs from South Africa that year. The quality of the choir has certainly not lessened over the years and although I'm now forced to only enjoy from afar, way up here in cold Denmark, I do so with pleasure every time a new song finds its way to RUclips. Especially when the song, setting and performance is as good as the one in this recording. I thank you all, boys and staff at DBC! -Teddy
This song shows the different talents of the choir with instruments as well as singing. Fantastic all round, never heard a violin played in this song before amd its works beautifully. Amazing rendition 👏
What a beautiful version of this Ed Sheeran classic... The bassist's harmony and incredible range really puts it over the top! Count myself so fortunate to have seen one of the Choir's weekly concerts for the first time ever last month... Can say I'm already planning the next one :) Well done boys! Hope to see some more videos soon :)
Amazing work done with these gents, best cover of this song I've seen. Real obsessed, have listened to this over 10 times and not getting tired. Amazing voices
Stop the world, I wanna get off in the Drakensberg! This is so amazing! I love the smiles. Greetings from northern Thailand and suddenly feeling very homesick. I have such fond memories of the DBC performing a Christmas concert at the Linder Auditorium (at old JCE) in 1990 and I hope to see them live again. The afterglow is spreading around my Thai and Chinese students.
The Bass voice is freaking awesome in this, but the harmonies are also amazing ❤️💙❤️

These guys here are an ideal South Africa.
There is a certain person who walks a straight path in upright standing before God and in him there is hope
As an old boy, I am so proud of these guys. This is a beautiful finessed rendition. As a bass myself I appreciate that voice, but the other boys are so beautifully balanced and tuned. Well done, fellas!

A million colours of hazel, golden and red

Oh, I will hold on to the afterglow

The leaves are buried under six inches of white
The radio is playing, Iron & Wine
This is a new dimension
This is a level where we're losing track of time
I'm holding nothing against it, except you and I
We were love drunk, waiting on a miracle
Tryna find ourselves in the winter snow
So alone in love like the world had disappeared
Oh, I won't be silent and I won't let go
I will hold on tighter 'til the afterglow
And we'll burn so bright 'til the darkness softly clears
Oh, I will hold on to the afterglow
Oh, I will hold on to the afterglow
Oh, I will hold on to the afterglow
