@@EquityCall i think it looks great aesthetically is all i'm saying. i don't want to get into a whole debate about how he should or shouldn't be swinging
He has awesome mechanics. How do I know? He hits the ball 500’ feet. You can bench press 600lbs and squat 1000lbs and can’t hit a baseball 500 feet on static strength alone. Have to have very good mechanics to generate that kind leverage, double pendulum wrist snap and power.
@@km1974ish Nah, compared to Griffey, Ruth and others this is an OK swing. He loses a ton of power and consistency by throwing his back arm forward. At contact Griffey's back arm is bent at 90 degrees and tight against his hip/side. Go look at Griffey and look at the arm positions just before and at contact.
Alright… so, if anything, do not teach your or any kid to swing like Giancarlo… the only reason his swing stays level with his elbow going in front of his back hand, is because he straightens his front arm, making the bat stay in the zone longer, but also requiring a lot of strength… this is like a 1% chance it works, but it works for him. Again, for any parent, do not teach your kid to swing like him. Take mechanics from someone like Anthony Rizzo, Freddie freeman, or even mike trout
Average has long been proven to be flawed. OPS is a far better way to determine a hitters true value, and that’s not even counting the advanced metrics
Not one of the better swings in the game but he has so much power
are you shitting me? this is one of the best swings visually
@@404chan are you shitting me, he drags his back elbow

Bat drag. So surprising to see this in a major league hitter
I suspect it's about launch angle without distorting the upper body to hit home runs.
My son was swinging like that, he had the best on base percentage on his team because of catcher's interference. :)

Griffey or Ruth would be better models.
@@ThekiBoran Ruth does the same thing. Use Bonds, Judge, Yordan, Altuve, or Betts.
Who cares, what's his average? Here it is .236 - I teach my kids to swing like Bo Bichette.
Batting average is overrated. There’s a reason Stanton won MVP in his prime and Bo never will 🤷♂️
