    I watched the series on the build , I haven’t read any of the comments so not sure you’ve answered any questions. How much did you shorten the forks ( original GS or from another bike and the update regulator/rectifier is it working with the lithium battery. Very nice presentation of work done, and VERY NICE LOOKING GS750.

      Cut the springs down around 40mm i've also lowered the tubes down through the triple tree 30mm, the manual states 180cc of fork oil however i've gone up to 220cc because of the cut springs and how it feels.
      Regulator/rectifier I need to do a follow up on that as I've not been out riding it yet. Ive had the bike ticking over in the garden but need to check over the state of electrics once the tuning is all done. hopefully in next few episodes.

    Awesome bike! So I have an 81 GS750e with the square headlight,what do you think if I would just shorten the seat and still use the original taillight section? And how many inches did you drop the front forks?

    • @dtaylo4517
      @dtaylo4517  3 года назад

      81 GS has got some good lines to it, I've not seen one in the flesh however there are subtle differences. I can see where your going with the shortened seat, yeah give it ago. I lowered my GS 40mm through the trees and also cut the springs down. I think that was by 50mm.

    Hello mate! Well done to the build! Totally love it. Just a question regarding the wheel size ... is it 19” front and 18” back? Thanks

      @dtaylo4517  3 года назад

      Thank you :)
      so the front is a 3:25x19 and rear is 4:00x18, are you working on your own build?

      @@dtaylo4517 Great ! Thank you for the quick answer! Yeah, I am .. building an gs1000. I love old school motorcycles... but I am going more to a scrambler style as I have back issues , and want to have enough space for a second passenger , that’s what I am saying to everyone. Truth is ... my girl kinda forced me into a scrambler ... she wants to go for a ride as well ... otherwise I would do another cafe racer / single seater lol

    So where do i find a similar system for my headlight?

    • @dtaylo4517
      @dtaylo4517  4 года назад

      Find a similar system? The light bucket I picked up from ebay and then had to do some welding work to customise it for the GS. Im sure you can get plastic/metal replicas however they are a little pricey and you would have to get a bit creative with the electrics.

    Nice to see a bike from Belgium in good hands! ;-D those stitches indeed look nice matched to that tank. Only comment I would have is the audio. Would be better to record of 2 sources and match the volumes of speech and bike rumble. Or just, somehow, make it level througout the video. Sounds great though!

    • @dtaylo4517
      @dtaylo4517  4 года назад +1

      Thank you for the comment, yer the audio I had bit of an issue that day, usually I use the cameras own audio pick up however that day it was pretty windy and was getting picked up, so went with recording audio through my phone, never done that before so was a bit alien territory and think thats why the bike sounds a bit quiet because at the time it was so loud I was worried about the neighbours complaining, oh well next time!

    Great build mate, how difficult was it to gut out and empty the midsection ?

    • @dtaylo4517
      @dtaylo4517  4 года назад +1

      Not too difficult at all! the wiring harness was untouched all I had to do was route it under the seat section and make it tidy. The majority of the mid section was occupied by the airbox and huge battery. air box out and lithium battery install under seat hump.
