POSTAL SUPERVISOR EDUCATES CLERKS! OFFICER HONORS HER OATH? 1ST AMENDMENT AUDIT
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 27 сен 2024
- I was conducting a First Amendment Audit at the United States Post Office in Bloomfield, Connecticut. As soon as I entered I was confronted with postal clerks who were not only ignorant of the law and our rights but their own postal regulations. Thankfully a supervisor who was well informed de escalated the situation. The Police were called but the responding officer did a great job understanding our rights and de escalating as well.

If you feel the need to redress your grievances to your government regarding this incident I will leave contact information below. Always remember, this is your right under the 1st Amendment to the U.S Constitution
In this particular video the clerks and public might have been ignorant of the law, but the Postal Supervisor Jamal, & Officer Katanya Badge number 226 did a great job treating me with respect, de escalation, and respecting our rights. The same way we redress our grievances we need to highlight our public servants who do the right thing!

Thats a nice thought!
Was there really no surveillance cameras in that particular office? I was looking but didn't see any ceiling domes or anything that looked like cameras. Why didn't you walk next door to the police station? Thinking they might need some training and education
What a great attitude for an officer. This country needs more people like her.
I agree. She was nice and professional. Super short though, she reminded me of that bunny from Zootopia, Judy Hopps. 🐰
Absolutely! We aren’t the enemy! We’re all just human beings trying to live together. Wish all cops were like her.
That officer was only acting the way she did because of the supervisor…. Remember she said “what is your wish for this man”
She knows the law. Most cops don't.

I love how how the people that don’t want to be recorded always do the most to get recorded
Exactly. As soon as they see the camera, they go FULL Streisand Effect & draw even more attention to themselves.
I was filming at an event once & was getting a slow pan of the convention floor. This woman sees me, doesn't like being filmed and instead of just turning around, she made this awful face, just really drawing more attention to herself. Guess what lady, your ugly mug is now forever on the Internet. Nobody would've even cared, ya know.
"Please get out of my shot maam, I'm here to record something interesting or pleasant, and respectfully you are neither"
The girl that didn't say a word about being recorded was pretty tolerant of being recorded. Then the worker had asked her if she was okay with it and made her hostile.
As they work in a place with cameras recording everyone and every where. It is a bit weird.

She got triggered by the clerks asking if she wanted to be filmed, as if that has any bearing on whether or not she can legally be filmed.
Postal employees confuse the policy of not filming, that applies only to them, by projecting it onto the public.
And the USPS has more cameras trained on her than LIA did. The jokes just sorta write themselves at this point. 🤔
Spit on !
You're right. That clicked in her mind that she had some right that "HER face and HER body" are somehow free from being recorded in public, so she just went all in on that ignorant misguided idea.
Exactly! They knew it would get her going so they could then say the auditor was causing trouble
the clerks will try to use the customers as attack dogs.
That female officer was a sweetheart, was extremely polite, gave you all the info you requested without asking why or putting up any road blocks. She is a great example to her force
I will certainly agree. Very refreshing. 😊
She was fine with you not giving your name and avoided the almost OBLIGATORY closing comment of not video taping anyone's transaction or something similar ... EXTREMELY REFRESHING ... A+ to her ...
She was head and shoulders above her peers... A little professionalism does a long way... When they go for low five, she takes a high five.

I am thoroughly pleased, finally we have a female officer that is professional, courteous and has integrity! I've been watching for quite a while and this is a first for me. Thank you officer for your service! The post office employees failed the supervisor tried to calm them down failed, but he knew the rules and tried to keep him in line but failed.
To be fair, the supervisor probably either spoke to the staff after business end, arranged a staff meeting for another day or waited until LIA left to brief them up on the rules.
They failed in the moment, but the fact the supervisor knows that there is footage of his staff acting like that means they _will_ be pulled up on it, just not right then and there.
Right, and not acting like a cow or worse like a comic butch version of a man. It’s a joke now police women think they have to act like men to do their job. But then again, they themselves are probably bullied and hazed by their male counterparts. So….”when in Rome….”
Well that one employee said he was going to take his break, but was back at the counter in about a minute. Obviously something was said to him when he went in back.
You captured the rare event of a postal worker going “Postal.” It's very hard catching that in the wild... Congratulations.
This is NOTHING compared to some of the other videos Sean got from post offices. Some are down right POSTAL.. crazy stuff there. This one was very quiet and relaxed vs his other ones.
You need to watch a lot more of his, LOL.
Not rare at all
Dude has seen his videos and still made a fool of himself.
Wow, that female officer was absolutely amazing. Think this might be the first time I’ve come across a good female cop while watching audit videos. Very happy with her professionalism, courteousness, and attitude. What an amazing officer. I hope she gets a promotion. Think it’d be a good idea if you called the department and gave her a commendation.
@Jeremy Purdue You make a few good points here. Yes, it could be argued that she was going to do whatever the supervisor wanted but she didn’t and I’d prefer to give her the benefit of the doubt in this situation.
The reason for that is she could’ve flexed her authority, demanding ID or something else, escalating the situation. Instead, she was courteous and didn’t allow her ego to dictate the interaction, as many officers do.
I also agree that there should be minimum physical requirements for being a police officer, which must be maintained by all officers in the field and is consistent for both men and women. Anything contrary to this would pose a significant danger for both officers and the civilian population. However, that doesn’t necessarily mean a male officer would be required to come to her aid. As I said, as long as the physical requirements are consistent for everyone across the board, gender shouldn’t be an issue, but I see the point you’re trying to make. I’m sure you’d agree with me here.
Thats why they have tasers mace and other weapons to level the playing field
But don't under estimate her just from her size I've seen small girls like her that can hold their own
She was fire 👀🤓
A good cop*. Fixed it for ya.
@Jeremy Purdue that woman is gonna do a lot more in a tussle than some overweight old man, and when you do your job right, there is rarely a time when you even need to get physical. Your view is the entire problem with policing. The idea that they always gotta be prepared for some street fight. If a 5 foot woman can't solve most of the problems, then they are creating the problem.
The supervisor was cool. You can tell he's educated. Right on Bruh
A+ to the female officer she kept it professional and didn’t stay long to pester you and I love how she didn’t give directives!😅
Very respectful officer and postal supervisor. This is what we want to see!
This was one of his worst videos. I understand why he does it. I usually support him, but this one was getting to the point of harassment. When James was telling his coworker that he was going on break then Sean telling him that he was already on break because he hasn't done anything all day. That would be harassment. Sean needs to stick to educating the buttholes. These people here weren't that bad.
Doesn’t matter who owns the building. Almost all government offices are leased property. Once leased it’s considered public.
Correct, otherwise that would be the workaround for holding all government agencies accountable. Every government agency would instead just lease/rent, then say ‘the owner doesn’t allow....’.
Yep. Anyone who isn't mentally incompetent or a child knows this.
Same reason a LandLord that owns the Property you are renting. Just can not unlock your place and walk in. You taken it over. Now the rights and wrongs fall on you. Same with Government Renting a spot. It now the Governments. Im agreeing with you, just FYI
That cop and Jamal were great. Really impressed with how well the officer handled that. She's sergeant material.

I hope James knows it's against postal regulations for employees to take pictures or videos while on duty and to have their cell phones out.

@Cool Cool lmao
@Cool Cool there’s plenty of videos of white people doing the same. Also, not all black people act the same. That was just straight up racist
Yeah because I see tons of videos on RUclips uploaded by the Post Office. Their filming is exactly like auditors!
@@OlYables No, but the camera recordings in the post office or other public buildings are subject to freedom of information act requests by anyone. So anyone could get that footage and post it on RUclips or wherever they want. That girl didn't know how the recording of her was going to be used. However, I do feel that if someone politely requests to not be in his video, he should oblige by editing them out.

The USPS facility where I live is owned by a private person but is leased to the federal government. It is publicly accessible and anyone can film in the appropriate places there. So, whether or not it's actually federally owned makes NO DIFFERENCE. It's occupied by a federal agency and therefore open to the public for filming.

You said it *exactly correct* they are just employees and he has no business putting the employees on public display.
None of these employees did anything wrong, so he has no reason to be there.
He is intentionally making a nuisance of himself to satisfy some sick voyeuristic tendencies.
He should actually see a doctor.
Lol. Doesn’t take much to upset you.

The post office worker running his mouth as he took his break was hilarious!
He was quite a character. He could've played it off & turned it around, but he was too much sour grapes.
I hope his reading these comments
Lol he forgot Jamal's name (the supervisor of the post office) started calling him Malcom 🤣😂😆😄
She acts like she’s in witness protection or something!
If she is....her face, voice, and gait are out to the World.

I don’t think that girl would have even been a problem until those unprofessional clerks fed her ego.
You can hear the female clerk intentionally involve her.
“Do you want to be recorded”.
Lord of the fly type shite.......You're exactly right !
@@shanghunter7697 lol
Both pathetic
The officer wasn’t “weird” for putting up with the unconventional approach and not breaking her composure. Gotta give credit where it’s due. Though we must rely on these officers and their training to not break their composure and uphold the values they seek to represent! Overall great job.
The weird girl he was talking about was the girl at the beginning who was obvusly on something.
Yeah it was the civilian that wanted him to delete the footage thats who he was talking about
Sean complimented the officer, he didn't say she was weird.
How did 33ppl like this comment? It took me a min 2figure out what you were saying & no1 called her weird it was the weirdo customer who acted like she was just caught cheating on her husband.
The supervisor should of informed the crazies shouting at him that he can video all he wants but instead he moved him out which made them think they were right.
Jamal should have set James straight, that being said, what kind of stupid recognizes a first amendment auditor and still disturbs the piece knowing full well that filming is allowed, kudos to the officer.
Shes the nicest cop ever and The Supervisor rocks knowing the laws
That officer handled this in text book perfection, kudos to her.
Should've informed James that since he is a government employee... the footage on his phone is now public accessable government property and you will be FOIA requesting that phone footage. (whether that's true or not I don't know but at least it would've given him something to think about) Rock on LIA
Even if the building itself was owned by a private person or company if the government is leasing the space then it becomes public.
Finally a postal worker that knows the laws without the post master having to show up!
Or Postal Inspection Service
Mrs. OFFICER! Very professional and beautiful
Lady behind the counter caused a lot of that trouble. She asked the customer if she wanted to be recorded so the customer assumed she had a right to say "No".
You should be lodging a complaint about her as she created what could have been a violent situation as the customer was aggressive and could easily have just shot you
Exactly
While the supervisor was reasonably courteous, he did nothing to silence his co-workers agitating.
In fact he chickened out and referred to covid and 3 people at a time, but Sean was the third person! Then a lady left so Sean was 2nd, yet the staff still didn’t attempt to serve him.
(This is where buying a single stamp and getting a receipt is handy. Force the staff to do their job.)
Yep. Buying a stamp or a postcard takes away 99% of their misguided attempts to stop filming. I understand that it's not necessary, but it gives tyrants WAYYYY less justification for unlawfully stopping recording.
. 2 record Derick is on my bucket list
And always ask these losers about the poster7, too.
