At 10:42 they claim it takes two people to operate the Cat 6090FS. There is one operator with two engines in this machine not two operators as they claim.
The variety of machines showcased in this video really highlights the innovation in the mining industry. I was particularly intrigued by the electric-powered P&H 4800 XPC shovel. It's great to see a move towards more environmentally friendly options, especially in a sector often criticized for its ecological footprint. But here's a thought: while electric machinery reduces fuel consumption, what about the sourcing and disposal of batteries? Are we truly making progress, or just shifting the problem elsewhere? I’d love to hear opinions on how we can make mining more sustainable overall!
A little correction on the 450 ton Belaz mining truck: the front and rear axle assembly is identical. The whole axles are steered hydraulically so it's a AWD and AWS truck. ✌️ But I'm always amazed on the crazy engineering needed to create all these monstrous machines. These give computers a run for their money with all the FEA (Finite Element Analysis) needed... 😇
the 1st largest dozer I operate is the Cat D11T I also experienced to operate the cat 6090F monster excavator its awesome I wish I can experience more different big machine in future

Fun fact the super dozers from komatsu were only sold as dozers with no ripper or only a ripper and there are 2 machines in the world with both a ripper and blade both are in New Zealand and the footage of the two working side by side is footage of these 2 machines
Because P&H bought Le Tourneau who were then bought by Komatsu. It's easier to buy a company that makes the machine you need than to design one yourself.

There are large hydraulic cylinders built in each side of the bucket, these open and close the clam.
