  • In this video I visit East Hill Cemetery in Salem, Virginia. East Hill is one of the Oldest Cemeteries in the Roanoke Valley and is the final resting place of many notable citizens, including General Andrew Lewis who was active in the Virginia Militia during Dunmore's War in 1774. He led the militia against the Shawnee Chief Cornstalk in the Battle of Point Pleasant during which his brother Charles was killed. We also visit the Confederate Section of the Cemetery where a number of Unknow Confederate Soldiers from the Battle of Hanging Rock are buried.
