  • A bi-ski is a device that features two articulating skis, a molded seat, straps, foot supports, a frame, linkage, and, often, a shock absorber or suspension system. Watch this video to learn how to observe and assess a bi-ski student to set him or her up for success on the hill. Bi-ski candidates are typically those who do not have the ability to use their limbs while in motion, since as those with a spinal cord injury. As explored in this video, you’ll evaluate if a bi-ski is the appropriate piece of equipment to use by observing the student’s mobility upon entering the adaptive center. This video also helps you learn how to properly transfer and adjust the bi-ski to fit your student’s needs, how to load and unload the lift, and various tactics and methods for teaching students to slide down the hill in a bi-ski.
