There's a lot of harmonic choice and taste found in both Genshin's OST and the etudes here. Glad that he managed to inject some of his esoteric harmony into a main stream game like Genshin for the mass to enjoy, though.

As a musician myself from Indonesia, I just want to say that Yu Peng Chen is truly a genius in melody. His compositions are always somehow so melodic, beautiful, in some sort of romantic, dreamy, & heartfelt way, but also have this melancholic, sad feels too. It's very rare actually to find music like this, especially nowadays.

Strange. He's the Genshin Impact composer. Shouldn't a person of this caliber be able to find a good pianist to record this?
Edit: I said the audio was very good and human-like, but now that I use headphones, I can notice it's a bit more wooden that I previously thought

      ChatGPT🤔:
The comment "Chopin study n1 after Barbara Streisand, performed by mademoiselle Midi at Nowhere auditorium" appears to be a tongue-in-cheek critique of a contemporary composer's work. Posted under a video featuring MIDI performances of this composer's piano pieces, the comment seems designed to raise questions about the originality, artistic merit, and presentation format of the work.
Chopin study n1: This part of the comment suggests that the contemporary piece feels derivative, mimicking the style of Chopin's études without bringing anything new to the table.
after Barbara Streisand: This phrase might imply that the piece lacks the gravitas or "purity" expected of classical compositions, possibly incorporating elements of pop or show tunes in a way that dilutes its artistic integrity.
performed by mademoiselle Midi: The name "mademoiselle Midi" or its possible interpretation as "made mostly Midi" subtly criticizes the MIDI format of the performance. In a classical context, this could imply that the work lacks the emotional depth and interpretive nuance a live human performer would bring, thereby questioning its artistic value.
at Nowhere auditorium: This phrase could either belittle the venue or comment on the digital, anonymous nature of the platform where the piece is presented, contrasting it with more prestigious or historically significant settings usually featured on the uploader's channel.
In summary, the comment seems to serve as a sarcastic encapsulation of various criticisms-lack of originality, questionable stylistic choices, and the limitations of a MIDI performance-that some viewers might have towards the contemporary composer's work.

It’s hard to appreciate this set of etudes because they’re mimicking Chopin’s etudes from the start. We can LOVE Chopin and still have our own identities. Chopin was a fellow human like each of us. Mimicking him or other past composers is not giving to the world what God gave us individually.
