“We set up the game so that we can’t win” the truest, hardest hitting fact right there and something I relate to on so many levels and aspects of my life.
You’re doing amazing! Always be proud. ❤

Man, I remember when you were floating those videos out there at the start. Congrats on the progress Demone! I haven't been successful in my journey at all so far. It's amazing how much the mentality actually plays into it. I dog myself out all the time and never celebrate the improvements either, so I appreciate your perspective there.

    Greetings Demone Kim,
I saw this video in my recommended and decided to watch it on a whim. I'm glad I did and, for what it's worth, I would also like to express my congratulations on your success and say that I'm inspired!
I started my own journey towards physical wellness a couple weeks ago. I was 300ish lds. and my first goal is, like you, to lose 100 lds. I've been walking 30 minutes a day, weaning myself off the junk food (pizza, sweets, etc.), and drinking a LOT more water to help flush out my system. So far I've lost about 10 lds. which, I feel, is a good start. I don't know if I can achieve my goal in just 6 months but I'm going to stay the course and I am confident that, by this time next year, I will have gotten there. I pray that we can both get where we need to be on our individual journeys!

Intermittent fasting along with eating real foods made me lose 70 lbs by itself. I started with eating between 8 am-4pm then shrunk to 9-3 now i eat at 8am and 12pm on work days and 9 and 1 on days off. So 20 hr no calorie intake. Only water, black coffee and black tea. Staying away from bad carbs is the best thing I did. Breads make me feel bloated, cause inflamation and dont keep me full. I consume fattier foods too.

Very impressive Demone. I started watching you from New World, and you look so much different, and great! Amazingly your voice hasn't changed (and that's a good thing, you got that great radio voice).
I haven't lost 100 pounds, but I'm proud that I lost twenty in a couple months. To do that, I highly recommend you find something to occupy your mind. Get a hobby that isn't simply entertaining, but something that challenges you. If you can find something like that, at least for my case, you'll forget about food. You won't be craving it, you'll be focused on your task. I didn't even really have to change my diet - I just ate less.
Also, ditch everything but water, coffee, and tea. Try not to add sugar. Sugar is actually most likely the biggest contributor to weight gain, not fatty foods. Don't eat sugary foods, that includes most cereals! I generally limited myself to two meals per day, usually skipping breakfast, and replacing that skipped meal with a high protein, high fiber breakfast bar.
I also walked at least half hour a day. Try to do a slightly higher paced walk.
My two tips. Personally, I could never do a gym routine. I don't like gyms, I'm a very self conscious person, so it's walking and simple exercises at home for me. I want to lose another twenty pounds, but it seems like I'll need to do a bit more exercise to get there, as my current habits are keeping my where I am.

Hey man! First off, love your content! Second, I just wanted to say that I really needed to hear this video. I was pretty fit pretty much my whole life, came and went into the military, etc. I'm in my late 30s now and the last several years I've just let my health, both mental and especially physical, fall apart. I averaged around 190 -200 and I've been floating around 300 for a while now. Difficulty breathing, low energy, etc. Every time I tried to get back in shape I had the same issues of constantly being disappointed and losing motivation. I'm going to try your method of celebrating the little things and stop holding myself to 10 or 15 year old standards, because I think that was the key I've been missing.
Thanks man, keep up the good work, appreciate all you do, and congrats on the progress you've made. Peace.

That's a huge motivator to get my butt up and moving, even if for a walk once a day or some muscle exercises at home. I feel cold ALL the time and my skin appears pale. Second: Thank you for sharing your wisdom and lessons you learned along the way. This video resonates especially to me. Demone, great work. I am going to share this video with some other people. I like that you don't pretend to be an expert; you simply talk about what worked for you. ive been on a fitness journey for almost 4 years now and one thing i've learned is you have to find a regime that works for you. I've tried going to the gym in the morning and absolutely despised it and that turned into me not going at all. Then i found going in the afternoon and after work works way better for me and that leads to consistency and ive been going to the gym 4 days in a row then take a day off, repeat. Same goes for diet, you have to find food that you enjoy and can eat and stick with consistently. Exercises are the same thing too, you have to find exercises that you enjoy.
It's a journey and requires discipline but its absolutely worth it.

Hey Demone, you are looking fantastic man. I started watching you in the early new world days on and off and you've become a huge inspiration for me to get back into shape. I'm 6'2 and currently at 288lbs. 8 years ago I was 215 when I was walking for work all the time and I pretty much ate whatever. Since then I've just been steadily climbing in weight and what makes it even more complicated is I'm type 1 diabetic so I need to account for the carbohydrates I eat with the correct amount of insulin. Exercise also effects blood sugar levels pretty considerably so I'm going to be making small adjustments over time to try to get back to a good spot. I have been both walking and riding a bicycle a couple days a week for the past 3 weeks. I tried to do some pushups yesterday and only could do 5 and I couldn't even get half way up when trying to do a pull up. I was feeling pretty disheartened and after hearing this story it really made me feel good about the efforts I have been putting in instead of just sitting at my computer during all of my free time. Thanks for sharing the process that's been working for you because it looks like it's working amazingly well.

I've started back up because of you. I'm on day 2.
I don't know why I never thought about positive reinforcement. I've always responded negatively to others who have tried to negatively reinforce me. I have no idea why I would be so negative toward myself when I knew that I hate others doing it. I'll try to start being positive and celebrate any victory no matter how small.
I can't afford a good diet. Ramen noodles and/or rice have to be a major part of my diet. So yesterday I had 2 bowls of Ramen with spinach and chicken. And I finally started exercising again. For me, I'm just focusing on getting my heart rate up several times a day. So I take some free weights and jog in place while lifting and my heart starts to blow up and I get winded super fast. I did that 5 times. Thanks for the inspiration.

Bruh, congrats. Wear the 100lbs like a badge. I used to weigh 460+ lbs. So, in January 2020 I took a vacation to the Philippines, then covid-19 hit and I got stuck. The country shut down and things got really hard. Due to concerns with my health I researched Dr. Sebi and the Alkaline diet. I thought it would be a fad, but I tried it anyway. Fruits, veggies, rice was all that was available, so I ate mangoes, saba bananas, coconuts, walnuts, sea weeds, watermelon, okra, cucumber, kale, zucchini, chickpeas, and mushrooms. I cut our refined carbs, meat, processed food, refined sugar, hybrid and gmo veggies/fruits. Then I drank mostly water, herbal teas, and fruit smoothies. I thought I was going to die of starvation, but after the 1st 2 weeks I had a ton of energy, and I lost a ton of weight.
One of the things that always derailed me was friends and just being outside in public. There is so much food and temptation, then friend/people always want to add food or drinks when hanging out. Friends where the worse because they always telling me oh just this one time break your diet. I never understood why everyone always wanting me to eat or drink because they were. Eventually I stopped going out, and since social distancing was a thing I had a perfect excuse. I started staying inside and eating healthy. I got bored and started playing video games to pass the time. Then I have learned how good video games are, the stories and being a active participant is great, as is the feeling of competition in MP games. I found your channel when I got into Genshin Impact, and you put me on to V Rising.
In 6 months I had lost 100 lbs for diet alone. Because I had so, much energy I went walking a lot. By the end of 2022 I weighed 243 lbs. I went back to the USA and no one recognized me. However, in one year in the USA i put on a bunch more weight again, even though I ate relatively healthy. So, this year my Christmas gift to myself was my health, I moved back to the Philippines and my plan is to just live here and be healthy. Currently, I teach English online, but I want to start streaming video games and maybe do some RUclips content. You are a huge inspiration behind that, I hope maybe one day to chat with you. If you read all this, thx a lot. Big fan, and I am happy you are back to making content.

People who want to stop you from changing may not think they're doing that, but they are. People are incredibly self conscious about themselves.

Awesome work. You are an inspiration. Two questions: When you eat what types of things did you eat and did you have hunger cravings and how did you combat that?

I'll make a video talking about what I ate, my workout, and the mental.

@@DemoneKim I just got back from a bike ride and I was starting to beat myself up about how hard the inclines were compared to back in the day when that was nothing as I rode bikes in Colorado. Then I started to think about what you said and how to be positive instead of the negative. That has always been my issue in life and what you said about rejoicing what you can do and to keep at it really hit home for me. Thanks again for sharing your experiences.

The hardest part for anyone I think is mental and food. Food is the biggest thing ever and most do not realize it, you can't out work a bad diet. I remember taking a photo with my brother on his wedding day and in my suit I looked like a puffer fish yes I said it puffer fish I was at 260 pounds right at the "We are going to have to put you on blood pressure pills" from the doctor that is when I was like ok...I can't eat and workout like I use to do back in my old football days. So I took it easy no gym membership some adjustable dumbells. Long story short 1 hour a day, only ate twice a day, and progressive slowly lost one pound a week kept going got better and boom I lost 60 pounds in 7 months. You did way better than me by a long shot lol.
