I feel for the editor, 'here is 10 years of footage, condense it down into a 4 minute video for our RUclips channel'! Great build, fascinating to watch!
Looks incredible. Even if the kids have moved out now it's going to be magical at Christmas and as grandkids arrive there is room for everyone. It's a beautiful forever home made with love. Wonderful.
What an amazing home I've watched the original programme and several repeats and I'm never disappointed what an extremely skilled builder and an amazing loving family good luck too them this is one shouse I don't expect to ever come on to the market built with love to contain a loving family.
My favourite house on this show! And among the best, I have ever seen on these kind of programmes! So aesthethic, so clever, so complementing to the beautiy of the environment! Witnessing and participating in the construction process is a great experience for the children as well. An amazing life lesson from their father!
It is an absolute priviledge to have come across this episode of Grand Designs. Out of the numerous lessons I got after watching, indulging in the joy of making astonished me the most, regardless of the speed and even its end. The Waghorn family and their magneficient continuing work of art is an inspiration. Best regards from the PH.
Legendary, Odyssey, Breathtaking, and emotional ! So happy to have been a part of your, Epic journey,Viewing on Television. To Have been able to watch this, Over the years, I can only say thank you so much..! Best house, maybe !, Best piece of art work, may be! Original, Loving crafted, Masterpiece. Happy for the whole of your family, Too experienced such a delayed gratification. One of the most Rewarding programs that has ever been on telly. Worth paying my tv licence for.. Thank you so much.. This house stole my heart. Ed and Rowena are amazing as are their girls. The love and creativity shines throughout every nook and cranny. To say I'm envious both of their lifestyle, talent and that awe inspiring home is an understatement. Especially as it will never truly be finished but evolve with them and their descendants.
I was at Kingston Poly with Ed back in the early 80s. They didn't recognise his talent then, and I didn't get to know him very well either. But he was a great guy, always quiet but he seemed to know what he was doing, with his own unique style. I've really enjoyed seeing what he was up to over the years, and am glad to see it came out so well. Well done Ed, and well done Kevin for sticking with him.
Have watched this episode 3 times, always see something new. It has been an absolute pleasure to watch this craftman build this wonderful home, Super lovely family, would love an update to know how they are all getting on xx
This is one of my favourite episode, the whole design, estetik, is beautiful. So glad it eventuated to his vision. Usually, get bit fed up with the environment warrior the show has focused on lately but here absolutely worth it.
@@devina8812 seems/seemed to be a period where every episode was pushing the advances made/possible in enviromental zero energy builds. Which is great but the designs all focused on the technical perfection and not the innovation. So had homes fairly souless and all about "Scandinavian Minimalism". Love these episodes where the owners whimsy is the greater focus. Although lately the episodes I seen been going for all "Brutalist(?)".... Anyway this home/journey was wonderful.
Guys I reckon the house I'm currently building is the business, it was the first glass and steel house in the UK and I am in the process of doubling its footprint and taking this iconic piece of british architecture into the future, great channel you guys have, best Robin
Lovely, creative and fun home. I'd love to see a list of the plants, trees they used as well and what birds they've seen on the property. And a nice family you would want as your neighbor's.
There's two grand designs houses I really like, this one and the woodsman's house built in the new forest by a guy called Ben I think, usually the ,houses are concrete boxes full of glass and breeze blocks but these two homes are beautiful , there was another I liked ,an old house with sloping floors and an old cheese room.
I’m reminded of the phrase, attitude is a little thing I can make a big difference. It’s one of the few episodes where I genuinely wanted to be friends with the family. Genuine folks.
I saw this in its entirety on Amazon Prime. The ending was cut off! Anyway, what an incredible house! Ed is an amazing artistic journeyman. His family is willingly supportive if not just a bit "cultish". I never heard or saw any electronics...unusual for teens. Great episode!😊
Kids would hear learnt valuable lessons along the way following a dream, persistence, learning fine handcrafted skills, patience, fun from doing it yourself !!
why would you take that long to build a house, i mean like when the house is finished the kids are probs going to already have been moved out or are years away from doing so, they built a house for their family but their kids won't actually live their
in the light of the pandemic, people are more in tune with nature, and crafts etc, but lets not forget that we need nature, like for example that lovely white horse dragging that really large heavy log, I don't know why two horses weren't involved.
What would be in your dream home??

This is my favourite Grand Designs home, I love Ed's mentality - totally worth the 10 years
A house takes a year to build. A home, much longer.

Well done Ed, and well done Kevin for sticking with him.
That massive arched window especially is gorgeous. I imagine christmas would be magical in this house.
My favorite house ever in grand designs. You made me dream with your house that is so personal as well as you way of living
Totally admire this mans talent and foresight! Amazing!

The best project of grand designs. Ed is so skilled.
Fabulous home
Top five episode. Probably the best. The guy is a legend.

This was a great build, such a wonderful patient couple !!!

More glass monstrosities dotting the landscape then.
Ed is a genius. I absolutely LOVE this house 👏🏼
You can't rush perfection!

It was worth it. Beautiful.
Beyond a doubt my favorite episode. Love this couple.
Best episode! Loved Ed and Rowena's home design, family and their philosophy about life.
Watching it now, what an amazing house.
Never did see it completed. Awesome!

I wouldn't say cultish. The kids read and plan on going to university, that's hardly cultish.
Emocionante episodio !! Hermosa construcción!! Y familia :)
Gorgeous
Check out the complete episode. This bit didn’t do justice to either the house or a fantastic couple.
which episode was this?

Beautiful
Got to be my favourite!
Stunning = What a house
If it took me ten years to build our place my wife would either never let me forget it, or we would have been divorced for nine years.
Thats what you call the Taj Mahal, his the Emporer of love
Well ive found my dream man.
AWESOME HOUSES 🏠 GUYS 💫🏛
It's 2024 and I'm wondering if he has finished the inside
I love this ❤
Very arts and crafts era mindset here.
Building three bedrooms for the children.... after taking 10 years theres no children left to sleep in those rooms
Mark Brown life changes its on way i guess mark. Either way im sure you made a pretty penny
It will not be a waste, I am sure the grand children will enjoy it

What happened to the thatch roof or is that still to come?

He adapted with the times

Some band boy house this IS
the roof is a bit shit but the rest is good
Where’s the gingerbread man ?
And slow = key take out
Roof looks like crap, should have gone with thatched or tuscan tiles
It's a little bit Gaudi
imagine they get a divorce after this
If they made it through this, they’ll make it through more or less anything.
More rich people moaning about being rich
God: This was 10 years of handcrafted boredom I just watched!
