Prime 1 Studio is thrilled to present yet again another astonishing collaboration with Blitzway, introducing the next entry to our Museum Masterline Series: The 1:3 Scale MMBM-06UT Batman Ultimate Version from Batman 1989!
Prime 1 Studio and Blitzway have come together once again to deliver yet another statue of the highest quality and stunning accuracy of Michael Keaton’s Batman from 1989’s Batman!
Michael Keaton’s portrayal of Batman in the 1989 film directed by Tim Burton was a defining moment in the Dark Knight’s cinematic history. Keaton brought brooding intensity to the role, creating a dark and gritty atmosphere that made him a fan favorite and set the standard for future Batman films. This statue is a perfect way to commemorate his performance.
Prime 1 Studio and Blitzway brings you another screen-accurate depiction of Batman in a simple, yet powerful stance. Standing at an impressive height of 31 inches tall, it is sure to make a statement in any collection.
Blitzway did an astonishing job at not only recreating a Keaton’s facial features, but also replicating the Batsuit. The costume’s design was brough to us by Bob Ringwood, who was incorporated many elements from the comics, such as the cowl with pointed ears, the golden utility belt and the scalloped fabric leather-like cape that all add to the ominous presence of the character. The suit now takes a midnight black shade and heavily armored, giving it a much more menacing look and an air of invincibility.
Batman stands on a Batcave-themed base, a perfect representation of podium that the Dark Knight would have at the center of his underground base of operations. His grappling gun lays at his feet. This base also features a total of four spotlight LED illuminations.
The Ultimate Version takes your pre-order to the next level: a SECOND 1:3 Scale statue of Bruce Wayne is included. Just shy of 30 inches tall, Bruce Wayne, the wealthiest playboy philanthropist in Gotham, wears his unique and iconic expression, which seems to blend a touch of sophistication and urgency. He dons a classic tuxedo that stays true to the iconic look of the time. His sense of composure can be felt in his restrained posture, nonchalantly shifting his weight to one side. Bruce Wayne stands on a Wayne Manor-themed stone base where a detachable Batarang can be placed in his left hand. Having his Ultimate Version in your collection will definitely make anybody’s jaw drop, whether they are hardcore collectors, Batman fans or simply a casual follower of the DC Comics universe.
These statues are a must-have for any fans of the Tim Burton’s Batman film and Michael Keaton’s iconic performance of the billionaire vigilante. Pre-order now while you can!

Like most of the commenters I was very excited about this release. That is until the price announcement. I'm considering it, but going to wait and see. It'd be devastating if at this price point the mark is missed. I think the license for Keaton comment is nail hit square on head. It'll be interesting to see what the ES ends up being on these. Thank-you

I think it’s time for Collector’s to stand their ground and hold off on buying for a while. Of course we will try and justify it, as you did saying the cost of licensing, but it isn’t always the case. I’m sure they’re profiting quite a bit regardless. Of course it’s a business but for them to inflate everything to include keeping shipping prices high without real costs. It’s a great piece, but we need to stop accepting outrageous pricing.

Fact of the matter Chris, is that if the guys like you dont take a stand. Nothing will change, if you bite the bullet on it nothing will have changed. You contemplating this is refreshing! It feels like we live in the same world. Because everyone kinda mentions the rising prices but never in a serious way. If more would take it seriously like you especially the influential youtubers, that's where we can make an impact. • @leomanteca4685
    @leomanteca4685 Год назад

I saw the movie opening weekend in 1989. I was 21 at the time. I loved it. Despite my reservations about Michael Keaton in the title role. I had seen him before in the movies "Night Shift", "Beetlejuice", "Johnny Dangerously" and "Mr. Mom". As a result, I didn't think he could be a believable Bruce Wayne or Batman. Thankfully, he proved me wrong. His performance, and the movie itself, still stand the test of time, 34 years later, as one of the all time best. So, like many of you, I had been waiting patiently for many years for a Michael Keaton Batman 1989 1:3 scale statue. I was excited and happy when Prime 1 revealed him. I was already making plans of where to display him. Then, pre-order day arrived. Oh boy! My concerns were realized when I saw the price point. And when I started to think what the shipping cost would be, I quickly estimated that it would take at least $2000.00 to own this. Now, the portrait is great. The sculpt is great. The base is good. But I find the pose to be simplistic, very stoic and museum like. And with no significant swap outs, I came to the determination that, at least for me, this particular statue is being sold for far above what I feel it should be and for more than I am willing to pay for it. I understand that licensing fees and getting Mr. Keaton to approve the use of his likeness cost more than we think. Not to mention the manufacturing costs. Regardless, I just can't justify paying the overall cost of owning this piece. So, although it pains me greatly, I'm going to have to pass on this one. Thanks for the video Chris. I agree with your thoughts on it.

Hulk. Just questioning if the price is too high is not enough. Take action. Putting a batman collector request letter together requesting a lower price point/profit will not work, but getting commitment from buyers at a specific price point for a new/different variant might. Take control and lead. Waiting for proof of no sales or low purchases because the price point is too high will not work to help motivate seller to reduce their base price/profit.

  • @ron5545

This is definitely a wait and see. I do like the simplicity of the pose. It lends itself to Keaton's restricted mobility which gave him that specter-like presence in the movie. If they nail the likeness, it might help ease the sting of the price. In the meantime, we'll see what Darkside Collectables' '89 prototype will look like.

In terms of pricing, once Blitzway was involved, and not being done in-house, a lot of the cost is probably due to the points you mentioned such as licensing but also the project development time. Communication time, edits, etc etc.

If you can't afford it, fair enough, but you can't call yourself a "Batman collector" and not have the OG Batman in your collection. Batman is my favourite DC character and Micheal is my favourite Batman. I remember the hype around this film when it came out in my school years! Heck, I even had the batwing toy and even Batman film cards lol. If it wasn't for the Terminator (T2) & AVP (Alien Vs Predator) statues I would pre-order this in a heartbeat! With the average price of a eggs trending over $7 a doze, I can't say I'm surprised by the pricing. We're still dealing with an inflation rate around 7% so everything is relatively super expensive right now. I ask myself a couple of questions to determine my decision to buy a statue: 1. Will adding this item to my collection bring me joy/will I regret not adding it? 2. Do I anticipate it will maintain or appreciate in it's value? If the answer to both is Yes, I'll buy it. The piece about the value applies to reselling down the line as well as the risk of having to pay crazy money for it in the secondary market after it sells out. I learned my lesson with the Prime 1 Superman. I slept on it when it was $1K on Sideshow. I thought the face was too ugly. Years later when I realized how dope it was, I ended up paying $3k to get it! I try to avoid repeats of that situation LOL!

I agree the price is outrageous, However as you said us collectors have been waiting for this for decades. We may never see another 1/3 scale 89 Batman.
I ended up buying the Ultimate I went back and forth between the one statue and the ultimate and finally bit the bullet. It ended up being about $3200 after shipping cost. It was a must-have since I already have the Jazzinc 89 Batwing and Batmobile on order and I also have the Toynami Batwing and Batcowl which are very rare.
Now I just hope they make the 1/3 scale joker Jack Nicholson to match.
Prices are ridiculous I don't think we are going to see a decline unfortunately. At this price point I think it should be a very limited edition Maybe 500-750 to keep the value. Anything more it's already going to lose value I think. However I could be wrong.

You think this is bad? I just had to pay $1213 AUS for shipping for my Prime 1 WW vs Hydra! No other way to say it. I'm out. This will be my last piece from Prime 1 unless they get these flipping prices under control. This price is MORE then double that I have ever paid for shipping of a statue. There is NO excuse they can make that justifies this except for the excuse that they can which is greed. I believe an entire shipping container costs about 10K give or take. Well, $1213 means my statue should have just over a 10th of a shipping container all to itself or an entire airplane bay to itself. It better arrive wrapped in gold gilt and escorted by armed guards without a dent in the shipper. I am so angry with Prime 1 right now. It's entirely absurd. We as collectors after fully paying for the statue and waiting 2 years for it are left with the choice of either accept it, pay the fee and get your statue or don't pay and never get the statue that I have patiently waited for for 2 flipping years. Rant over.

I was hoping to pick up the regular version of just the Batman. However, that price is about $400 over my ceiling to spend on it and that is before shipping. Money tighter for me these days and that additional $400 would cover a round trip flight to see my family. Unfortunately I am out on this one. Maybe if it is on sale in the future. Very jealous of anyone that can swing it, though haha. They are getting a great piece.

Even at $2800 I would probably still do it if we could trust that with the increased cost came with a strong reassurance that the likeness would match the prototype. For that kinda money collectors deserve more than “close enough”. Honestly I don’t know what you should do but I’ll probably cave on this. He’s been the only live action Batman that I’ve wanted.

I think Prime one is living in alternate reality and does not relieve what’s going on with economy and inflation and people struggling to pay bills and is in for a rude awaking as their edition size will me forced to get lower and lower .

Dude I started collecting prime ones back in 2016 when they first came out with the archon line. They always talked about making 89 Batman which pulled me into the statue collecting in the first place and over the years. I’ve gotten rid of a lot of statues, or I’m down to three prime ones and I still want this Keaton but the price and the shipping is killer the single Batman is going to go close to $2000 considering tax and shipping. As much as I feel that I need this piece, I don’t even have a space for it right now. I don’t know man I may order if the stars are aligned close to release maybe seeing a production sample and I don’t know but you’re right Sir it’s expensive.

I think the cost of the licensing has a part to pay in the price for sure Chris, and possibly likeness rights as to why we have less portraits. Maybe due to refusals or deadlines.
If your getting the twin pack I think 1399.50 each in todays market for a 1/3 scale is not bad, and not unlike most other products in todays market.
Catwoman was around the same price with just a cat, and Pattison is $1599 with pretty much an extra portrait.
In my opinion the Keaton statue is not much different in terms of museum style and base.
I have to say although some say the Keaton base is plain, I actually think it's pretty underated, and has some nice Batcave themed detail.
And for me it's a nice not overly big size.
True that the solo Keaton is probably at least $200 overpriced, but I've waited since 2015 for this 1/3 scale Keaton, $200 extra dollars would not stop me knowing how expensive Keaton's likeness and this license likely is.
I'm happy to pay extra just to get it finally.
You have 1/4 scale statues commanding the same price as this 1/3 statue now, if not more, and busts that are reaching 4K, with that in mind....I'll happily pay for two Keaton at that scale.
We get used to price, and are expectations are always based on what we have had previously. Sadly those times are long gone.
I bought the twin set this morning and know a lot of other people that have bought it too.
Those prices are not going to improve, as much as we want them to.
There are plenty of other wealthy collectors that will still continue to buy regardless.
Lets enjoy this price before regular museum style 1/3 scale statues hit 2K because it's definitely going to happen.
With Queen showing no interest in Keaton right now, and a part silicone JND piece likely to to be 3-4K, I say grab it because it's pretty damn beautiful.

Looks to me that you're finally starting to rethink the whole 1/3 statue collecting thing. In the long run, I don't think it's sustainable. It's absolutely ridiculous to keep paying absurd prices for basically painted stones and heavy ones too not to mention the price gouging for shipping and insuring these items. Enjoy what you have and don't drive yourself crazy with always getting more and more and stressing over something that eventually will hit bottom. I'd also reconsider moving into the larger space especially since you're questioning spending more to fill the larger space and forking out over $10,000 when you're obviously unsure as to whether to keep spending and supporting these companies. You already had a great Keaton Batman statue from Sideshow and sold it because you wanted 1/3 and now you're buying 1/4 scale anyway and with skyrocketing prices it's probably more cost effective to have 1/4. Easier on the wallet and on the space and with today's technology they're just as good as the larger scale. Just my two cents but in the end it's your money.

I, too, have been waiting for this for a long time and am now hesitating. I just don't understand the mindset of P1, making it so expensive. If you price it @$1600 and you're limiting the ES because you know only hard-core collectors with $ to burn can afford to buy, but if you price it to sell at, say $1100 and make 3000 of them, they'd sell every single one! It's just stupid.

Its a hard one to be sure, normally I would say that if you have to "talk yourself" into a purchase you probably shouldn't do it, but in this case if Keaton's Batman means so much to you then I say go for it but be more discerning with other Prime 1 pieces going forward to "vote with you wallet" - almost like you are factoring in the amount of extra money you spent on this statue when decided on future pieces.
