- Making cocktails can be pretty intimidating, especially if you aren't familiar with all of the cocktail tools and how to use them. I promise it isn't as intimidating as it seems and in this video, I go over the essential bar tools, what they are, how to use them, and why they matter.
Shaker tins, cocktail spoon, strainer. All examples of key bartending tools you need to be a top bartender. Bar stools come in many shapes and sizes but learning how to use the essential bar tools will get you way ahead of the game.
Of course each bartender has his preferred set of cocktail equipment so I could never truly cover all bartending equipment but these should cover the basics, and help contribute to your understanding of cocktail basics.
Make sure to subscribe to my channel because I post videos every single week, covering Cocktail Recipes, My Favorite Spirits, How to Bartend, and What it's like to own my own restaurant & Bar.
I focus a lot on South American and Latin American cocktails & Spirits so if that's something that interests you make sure you subscribe!

Watching this series with intrigue...thank you!!
You're so welcome friend! Let me know if you have any questions!
I watched a guest on Disney Cruise Lines cut themselves while trying to break the seal on a Boston shaker during a mixology class. The glass shattered and the staff had to tend to them, as well as burn the ice and clean out the bin before it could be used again. This is the main reason I use either a Cobbler or a metal/metal Boston. Even with a specially tempered glass for a Boston, it's a danger I'd rather avoid.
We kept making cocktails in the class though. :D
Oh wow that must've been scary! But that's the thing, It can get dangerous! Any benefit you get from using glass is easily outweighed by the danger.
Plus im not so sure it provided almost any benefit tbh.
Super informative. I would add as well a zester and a swizzle stick as well, but for a home bar swizzle stick can be spared as a necessity, in most cases. Cheers!
Ahhhh I can't believe I forgot the zester! Worst thing is, I have one hanging right next to my ice bin so I should've pulled it out and talked about it for sure. And I still need to get myself a real swizzle stick!
But thank you for pointing that out! These are the kind of comments that will help me make better videos and just get better overall! I really appreciate it! 😁
@@Lui_Fern yeah it is definitely a positive comment. I don't have a swizzle stick neither. Each time I check I am pulled off by the price. I will try my luck with Santa.
Keep up with the cool series. Cheers!
@@TheTribalBarGuy right?! Like why are they so expensive?? I never understood that.
And thank you very much! 😁
Any brand recommendations?
Great 😊
Thanks 😊
I just bought a shitty chinese cocktail kit and I intend to use it
