I'm currently watching the show for the first time and fell in love with it. It was a big mistake to cancel it. George will always be my favourite tv character ever and Ellen nailed the part
writers strike, they fired all the writers that weren't in their top performing shows, every network fired the lot of too low ratings, and gave parts of those fired writers pay allotment to the top performing writers...the money had to come from some where as all companies quit spending money on advertising, unless they needed it. advertising money is what companies have left of profits at the end of year, where they can write off the advertising expense to reduce their tax. nature of the beast.
I got hooked on "Dead Like Me" from the first episode. I agree that Sara Wynter was in a no-win situation. Laura Harris had made the character of Daisy Adair her own. To try to recreate her with a different actor was a HUGE mistake. All I can say is that Wynter really stank as Daisy.
Melanie Hamilton I know I'm a few yrs late with the reply but I wish Rebecca gayhart would have done more. Rube should have been in the movie too. They need to bring the show back, it was awesome.
This show needs a 6 episode revival like Xfiles and Heros got. It would be grand. At very least, make those 6 episodes reveal what happened after the movie and give us a PROPER finale. This show was great and should not have ended.
I have a younger friend and she never heard of Dead Like Me so we are binge watching it and she loves it! This show NEEDS to be brought back with as many original characters as possible in 2023!!!!!
I would like to see this back on T.V. Idea: George replace Rube as Keeper of Reapers. All show cast back. One by One they are replaced by new characters.
I sure hope to god that they come back with the show! I loved it! I was upset when the 3rd season didn't come back. I want the show to come back. I hope they do.
who ever cancelled this show made a big and terrible mistake its one of the very best shows i have ever seen. i wish i could find even one episode on you tube free. this is one of my favorite shows. i am probably gonna see of the library will sell me the dvds of this series they have. you all did a fantastic job. man too awesome.
bring this show back. it still has a lot of potential. like maybe make episodes where people escape death, have near death experiences, or die twice, etc...
I'm a huge fan of "Dead Like Me" and I want more seasons. Bryan Fuller created one of the best series ever and the writers, the technicians and specially the cast did the rest. I want to see more scenes between Joy and Reggie, how Roxy threatens Mason with her gun, and how George still living after her death. We need more "Dead Like Me".
I wish it would come back. It would be great to see an older Georgia taking Rubes place and handing out assignments. Bring in a new recently dead who becomes a new Reaper and she needs to learn the ropes. Definitely bring back Ellen Muth. She's Awesome!
...But they didn't wrap anything up at all. It was left worse that before. We have more questions now!!! I like Ellen but it is hard to watch her talk and try to form thoughts into sentences.
@RapturePress It's called a wind screen and a better mic. Get that block off there. Know you are trying to brand it, but it will screw with the sound, and it makes it harder for people to hold. spend some money on a decent mic from shure. Will help with the noise handling issues. Also Prep for an interview. Should know how long dead like me was off the air if you are interviewing them on the follow up to the show.
@katerinakrockett I got the same feeling about the interviewer. He started the interview with "what made you want to come back and do this 'little' movie?"It came across to me as belittling the show and made it sound like not many people liked it from his point of view. Even though I didn't care for the new Daisy I thought it was rather rude of him to bypass her and point out that he was doing so because she was a replacement to the role. I hope this isn't what he wants to do for a living.
why didn't LauraHarris reprise her role as Daisy for the film. In the film, Sarah Winter The actress who played Daisy, was in the second series of 24 and her charecter's sister was played by Laura Harris
I really miss this show! Right up there with Firefly in terms of disappointment over its cancellation. I was so shocked we didn't get a third season. There still is nothing on TV quite like it.
thescrybe I agree.. This show was unique and very original. The characters worked well together. Second season finally dove into more backstory of the reapers. At 1st I was excited about the movie.. But without the original cast and without the waffle house to meet in, it just looses the continuity the fans really cared about. I would have liked to see 3rd season go into detail more about the gravelings.
Callum Blue has an epic voice! Lol it was great seeing all of the Dead Like Me cast come together again to make a movie. I loved the TV series, and I was disappointed when it was cancelled. I should watch the movie sometime soon. XD
Miss It SOOOOOOOOOOOO much especially now ive completed all of them and ANYONE who hasnt seen them all look up deadlikme on here and they have almost ALL of them!
+sam wright I've been working my way through Series 1 & 2 and reached the end. I'm hugely disappointed there was you might enjoy the film Silver City (it's a world away from DLM but it is great!). Tim
Dead Like Me is not particularly well written or well directed but there was something magical about it. I really can't explain it. I found the sister relationship between George and Reggie to be really sweet.
sorry, but the movie was not "incredibly well written", which was why there was not a second movie or a continuance of the tv series. really sad, because the two seasons of the tv show were some of the best tv i had ever seen. just goes to show that nothing lasts forever.
I totally agree! The 2 seasons I absolutely LOVE! But that movie was pretty horrible I have to say. I still watched and would still love to own it along with the series on dvd (as I love Ellen and the original remaining cast members) but yeah I didn't enjoy it as much as I did the show itself which is sad.
river rat I agree. Best on TV. It Was one of those rare shows that you can watch over and over again and still enjoy it. TV got a little darker without it. And nothing has come along to fill its shoes. I really miss it.
I feel like both Daisy (doesn't matter that the actress is different) and Roxy were extremely out of character but to be honest the main idea is good in my opinion
I really like the all of them, but Ellen is just gorgeous! :) great actress. At first I had problems with the other characters, but eventually I started to like them too.
It really sucks that they cancelled it. I don't even bother watching TV anymore. whenever they have a good show, they cancel it. I haven't watched TV in a year or so. There's just no hope of finding anything even remotely interesting, since they took this off the air. I loved all the actors. Mandy Patinkin - I fell in love with him, first, when he was cast as Inigo Montoya in The Princess Bride. Everybody knew Jasmine guy! Muth - amazing! Blue, and Daisy Adair!
Wish I could comment on the quality of the microphone but its mine so I can't, that's my bad. But on them being crowded? That's the room they picked for the interview knowing we would talk to them all, so nada I can do on that respect.
Okay, that's not the original Daisy Adair, that's the one they put in for the last episode, and I didn't care for the substitution one bit. What happened to the real Daisy Adair?
So the guy who created this show also created pushing daisies.. so he created 2 TV shows that were based on women who were dead but not anymore I loved both I think it's interesting how Dead like Me lasted two seasons and Pushing Daisies had only one season , one series had a character named Daisy and then there was one about Pushing Daisies.. sorry I got sidetracked
Sadly it was a last minute interview I didn’t expect to get, end of the day, on a day I didn’t get to schedule. Hah loved meeting them but yeah, I could have done better. But Eric Andre is a comparison I’ll take hah.
@RapturePress eh, sounded like a fan interview as opposed to something pro. I didn't find it offensive in the least but I suggest you invest in a shotgun mic, possibly a boom as well.
Now i feel bad I already watched the movie online. LOL i might still buy it though if it would help the show come back. i would so love to cee another season.
I genuinely LOVED this show, "Dead Like Me" in a way that I hadn't loved/enjoyed/TRULY APPRECIATED honesty since "ROSEANNE" which to this day IS my FAVORITE PROGRAM OF ALL TIME. And with DLM I felt a real connection with the characters and the storyline to the point that I literally found myself bummed out when the announcement of its end came to light. The movie was also a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT for me because old characters were replaced by new actresses and the biggest let down for ME was OBVIOUSLY the fact that Mandy Patinkin (RUBE) who in MY opinion, WAS THE SHOW didn't appear in the movie. While I've got both season's one/two on DVD and also the "movie", I can only honor the season's because the movie? Well, I'm sooo sorry to word it this way BECAUSE of my 💛💙💜💚❤ of the show? BUT THE MOVIE...WELL, THE MOVIE SUCKED! SUCKED. IT JUST SUCKED!!! But I'll always watch the two seasons with love & affection. RUBEs (MANDY PATINKINS) absense screwed the movie...PERIOD!!!!!
You should have just change the NAME, take it to cable or RUclips, writing is great, beef it up and expand floor mate. Look what Miami Vice done, just change the name, ride and the location.
I'm totally with you on that. They totally raped the series with this film. Daisy wasn't even vaguely similar to Daisy, and all of the quirky goodness got seriously jacked up.
In my opinion the film was very disappointing. Everything that made the show including Rube, Da waffle house and the old location of happy time was all gone. Replacing Daisy was a really bad idea and maybe should have been just removed all togethor rather than being replaced. The storyline of the film was bloody awful, I would have preferred a single episode with the original cast than that film.
writers strike, they fired all the writers that weren't in their top performing shows, every network fired the lot of too low ratings, and gave parts of those fired writers pay allotment to the top performing writers...the money had to come from some where as all companies quit spending money on advertising, unless they needed it. advertising money is what companies have left of profits at the end of year, where they can write off the advertising expense to reduce their tax. nature of the beast.
Sorry you felt I was a dick. I love the cast of Dead Like Me, they are definitely some of my favorites and I'm still hoping to see more installments from the show. Ah well, can't please everyone I guess.
I’m very late to the show & movie,if I watched this as a kid I would’ve really loved this as now,(Despite the sexual scenes),also thanks to Britt Mckillip for my childhood? & mostly my teenage life of Mlp:Fim.
I Like Dead Like Me the movie. Awesome to me 100 percent. I just saw the movie for the 1st time last year. I had no idea the series had ended, because there so much on Cable, Netflix, Hula etc & the DVDs movies I have been watching. I just got finish watching the movie & can watch it over and over. The movie has me now to start over watching the series. I took Acting & Theater & my opinion regarding continuing the series, there Character doesn't age guys. And some of us facial features & bodies, do change as we get older guys lol no disrespect. That's the way I look at it. Sometimes it Good when Series have ended. I'm watching Dead LIke Me on Hula to me that's Great"
Have them getting a chance to run into each of there pasts some how even rob i seen that wanted poster of him we need more about it! come on keep it going! and lol give me a job lol
It sucks that Mandy Patinkin (Rube) was not part of the movie but I hear that he was committed ...to another presentation (I had to throw a little humour in there).
Oh my fucking god. I just found out that Britt was Princess Cadance. You know that eery feeling when you realize that two things you really enjoy are connected together? Yeah, I just got that.
This is not Daisy. The movie was terrible, and wasn't even a good imitation of itself. The stand-in for Daisy wasn't bad, but making her play Daisy was the bad idea -- the show itself had precedent for reapers suddenly being called away or passing beyond with little or no explanation, so I fail to see why that couldn't be done and have the fake Daisy above be her own reaper. It would have made sense with canon, but yet forcing this actress to become Daisy is one of the major and numerous flaws. I move we remove the film from the records and treat it merely as a fanfiction.
I'll tell You what, "This Show Really Rocked" When it was on. They really could have done even more with this show.
👌👌🇨🇱 me encanta ésa serie dead like me
We need more original work like this. Bring it back,
I'm currently watching the show for the first time and fell in love with it. It was a big mistake to cancel it. George will always be my favourite tv character ever and Ellen nailed the part

.....it will never be forgotten....it is appreciated.
I just finished both seasons again! I love this show and I totally wish the show would go on!

Yeah. That had the odds against it from the beginning. But definitely fun to see them together again.
Couldn't agree more. Love this show!
+Melanie Hamilton "To try to recreate her with a different actor was a HUGE mistake. All I can say is that Wynter really stank as Daisy. "
it's called acting things change sara winter did what she did very well
Melanie Hamilton I know I'm a few yrs late with the reply but I wish Rebecca gayhart would have done more. Rube should have been in the movie too. They need to bring the show back, it was awesome.
I really miss this show! The cast was and is amazing!
This show was ahead of its time, very good. Its a shame it only lasted 2 seasons...

If you notice shows with story lines always end early
I have a younger friend and she never heard of Dead Like Me so we are binge watching it and she loves it! This show NEEDS to be brought back with as many original characters as possible in 2023!!!!!
Agree. That show was a diamond. Still watching 2024.
You would think Netflix would reboot this.
There was supposed to be a third season?!!?!?!!!!?!!!!!
I love 💕 this show
So sad for fans when a show is cancelled, but the fans can still applaud the actors for their interest their efforts and their work.
I would like to see this back on T.V. Idea: George replace Rube as Keeper of Reapers. All show cast back. One by One they are replaced by new characters.
This show needs to be brought back. I thoroughly enjoyed this show.
I sure hope to god that they come back with the show! I loved it! I was upset when the 3rd season didn't come back. I want the show to come back. I hope they do.
Great show! Ellen's interpretation of the character was smooth and funny.
I really wish they would have continued this show longer. I really loved this show and it was so funny. :(
I remember I always turn when this show come now I watch it all the time and love it

bring this show back. it still has a lot of potential. like maybe make episodes where people escape death, have near death experiences, or die twice, etc...
Agreed. Everything is getting a reboot. I want more Georgia.

been away for 17 years just saw the series on you tube tv ABSOLUTELY GREAT
wow reggie looksss amazingly stunning
Just started watching series now and agree the cast and writing is brilliant.
I was shocked when it stopped . I thought why were we to happy watching this wonderful show .
...But they didn't wrap anything up at all. It was left worse that before. We have more questions now!!! I like Ellen but it is hard to watch her talk and try to form thoughts into sentences.

It was a damn great show watched it when it originaly aired,re watched it many times so should of been more seasons.
Bring the show back!!!!
THIS INTERVIEWER IS ABOUT AS ENTERTAINING OR AS ENTHUSIASTIC AS PAINT DRYING ON THE WALL!!!!!!!
Please come back DLM! I need the series to go on! ha.
Being a medium, I really connected with this show! I wish the show could come back with the original cast!
if you're a medium then you'd prob believe that everyone is one. which means you're just average.
The show will always be a cult classic ❤ 👻
This breaks my heart that they felt the same way about DLM as I truly did and that its gone forever.
+sam wright I've been working my way through Series 1 & 2 and reached the end. I'm hugely disappointed there was you might enjoy the film Silver City (it's a world away from DLM but it is great!). Tim
+Cotictimmy Oops I didn't proof read that properly! I meant to say that I was disappointed there was no Series 3.
Ditto bring this show back!!!
I love Dead Like Me and hope they will return!
Am I the only one that thinks George is totally stoned or drunk? Oh well, it doesn't matter. I LOVE these folks!
yep
Dead Like Me is not particularly well written or well directed but there was something magical about it. I really can't explain it. I found the sister relationship between George and Reggie to be really sweet.
does anyone notice her slurring her words sorta??
i love ellen muth

csgrambauer Hi just a few weeks ago, I bought the two seasons plus the movie for 30.00 dollars American.
Bryan Fuller really, really should bring this show back from the dead *now* .
Hurry up and get this back on tv with the original cast! Rube needs to be back to control them.
She wasn't available to do the movie and had to drop out at the last minute. I loved Laura Harris as Daisy, and missed her in the movie. :(
Bring it back!
I was hoping to see the reapers declare world war on the gravelings, and then find an unbreakable jar to put Death in.
Film isn't terrible by any stretch but no match for the strange combination of humor and pathos of the series.
I feel like both Daisy (doesn't matter that the actress is different) and Roxy were extremely out of character but to be honest the main idea is good in my opinion
BRING DEAD LIKE ME BACK!!!!!!!!! I LOVE THAT SHOW AND IT IS ONLY ON TUESDAYS!!! BRING IT BACK!!!!!!
I just watch these for the social interactions, and the body language/facial expressions.......................... =P
I really like the all of them, but Ellen is just gorgeous! :) great actress. At first I had problems with the other characters, but eventually I started to like them too.
Laura Harris and Sarah Wynter played sisters on 24. Second or third season I think.
Second
i love this show, i watch it over and over !!! please make a come back with the SAME characters
It really sucks that they cancelled it. I don't even bother watching TV anymore. whenever they have a good show, they cancel it. I haven't watched TV in a year or so. all the characters who werent in the movie said theyd return if they made another season including the old daisy and rube
Yes it was different and bring it back
Why did the show end?
Who decide it?
I want it back!
Who's with me?
I didn’t care for the movie. But the series was great. Wish they’d bring it back. And she shouldn’t be Daisy. There’s only one. Make her someone else.
Wish I could comment on the quality of the microphone but its mine so I can't, that's my bad.
But on them being crowded? That's the room they picked for the interview knowing we would talk to them all, so nada I can do on that respect.
... aspect?
Okay, that's not the original Daisy Adair, that's the one they put in for the last episode, and I didn't care for the substitution one bit. What happened to the real Daisy Adair?
YEA BRING BACK THE SHOW!!
I actually love both pushing daisies and dead like me...
I found out about the movie 5 years later
When George meet Mason first episode, Oh Mason, Mason Mason Mason!!!
I want have voice like Callum Blue, his voice make him very charismatic... eh
The interviewer looks very familiar to me, he also has an Eric Andre sort of vibe :D
Sadly it was a last minute interview I didn’t expect to get, end of the day, on a day I didn’t get to schedule. Hah loved meeting them but yeah, I could have done better. But Eric Andre is a comparison I’ll take hah.
I don’t know how people find there favorite shows when there moved !
@RapturePress eh, sounded like a fan interview as opposed to something pro. I didn't find it offensive in the least but I suggest you invest in a shotgun mic, possibly a boom as well.
They should bring back dead like me on t.v. it was a great movie
I know that both seasons are on Amazon prime video
Now i feel bad I already watched the movie online. LOL i might still buy it though if it would help the show come back. i would so love to cee another season.
Best show ever!! sucks ass it only was on for 2 seasons

So bottomline, there was supposed to be a Season 3 then what a missed opportunity... my all time favorite show after Monk
My 2 sons a I never missed a show when it was on
My all time favourite but the movie was kinda meh for me though
Sorry you felt I was a dick. I love the cast of Dead Like Me, they are definitely some of my favorites and I'm still hoping to see more installments from the show.
Ah well, can't please everyone I guess.

I miss her. Why did she quit acting?
It sucks that Mandy Patinkin (Rube) was not part of the movie but I hear that he was committed ...to another presentation (I had to throw a little humour in there).

yes, that was really bad audio.
