This Obsydians project is a wicked idea, with the changing vocal and releasing several singles. It is really excelent for what it is, and i am really happy to have new sybreed like songs :D

This is really amazing! Seriously I'm loving how Drop just build on Sybreed's legacy without being afraid to experiment with new vocal styles! Sybreed's dead and buried - we have awesome songs from them to enjoy but it's now time to turn the page and embrace the new era of Drop's music. Can't wait for more!!

This is kinda painful in the heart to listen to because it sounds way too much like Sybreed and Sybreed is/was my favorite band. I'm just glad they didnt call this project "Sybreed" without Ben so respect for that.
As far as I know, Drop was the brains behind Sybreed while Ben only wrote the lyrics. So you're basically asking him to entirely change his music style in order not to sound the same. That's not how it works bro. The way I look at it is Obsydians is essentially Sybreed 2.0 and it's fucking great! Don't you want a new Sybreed album?
Ben only wrote the lyrics? Ben wrote lyrics and sang on the records... So yea I would like a Sybreed album WITH Ben as the front man. All I said was it sounds too much much like Sybreed and that it sucks that the original Sybreed will never be a thing again and it's painful to hear what could have been a great Sybreed record if Ben was on the mic. Obsydians is just Sybreed with different singers... It's not true Sybreed. I have respect for them for not calling it "Sybreed" which is respectful to Ben as well. I do like the music of Obsydians dont get me wrong. Just not a fan of the singers so far. If I had to pick, I'd say Jon Howard was the best fit so far.

I think the new tracks are awesome! But thats it, if you know what i mean? It doesent top it like old Sybreed. And i know it isn't supposed to either, but with the guitars, drums and bass sounding soooo insanely Sybreed it almost should try to top that. Ben was unique and Drop is unique. This is somewhat bittersweet.
Why not bring Ben back and just restart Sybreed?
Cause Ben is the reason the band disband in the first place, if it wasn't for him, sybreed would still be alive.
I heard it was because of Bens day job that was causing problems.
We all dream of it. Ppl judging Bideau's vocals from the standards set by Ben for Sybreed just prove it. We should just accept that Sybreed is part of history now and enjoy what Obsydians have to offer. There is too much negativity for such an awesome project. Life goes on gents.

The lyrics and voice are very good but the production and the drums sound needs a little bit more dynamic like on Antares.

I think it's anti tech - as in anti Social media, and how the tech we all love so much today, is actually a nightmare because it has divided society like never before, you are constantly tracked and not to mention the shit China is doing. - Its a nightmare in disguise cause it all seems very harmless but once you learn more about it, you understand that it is a nightmare. - That's my take on it anyways.

Once again I'm not blown away by the vocals, and it isn't just that it's not Ben (which is obviously what everyone wants). It sounds like growing pains or something, like the vocals are off pitch again in certain parts of the song that should have been re-recorded or fixed post-production. I hate tracks/albums that are just instrumental but it may be the only way I were to listen to any Obsydians stuff.
With that say, maybe try using the lead singer from Subliminal Fear. He sounds like he'd be right for this music (and coincidentally he does sound quite a bit like Ben).

For the first time ever I'm disappointed by the synthwork. Seems kinda goofy at particular moments of the song. I mean, it's not that bad, but I was hoping for a darker vibe. Same goes for the vocals/lyrics, even tho I'm a Mnemic fan.
Still better than 98% of metal today and music in general.

Stefan Avramov I agree, and it saddens me because Sybreed is one of my all time favourite bands. Howard's song was weak but this is quite disappointing. The music is great as always though; hope there will be an instrumental version of this.

Agreed, vocals on both released tracks are rather disappointing to me. Sad to say I'm debating passing on Obsydians even though I greatly enjoyed Sybreed.
The vocals are great to my ears, I love Mnemic and One Way Mirror tho. The fact the song structure/riffing connects/corresponds to older Sybreed is something I appreciate really really much since I miss Sybreed and can't find any "substitution" to it; this is a great continuity imo.

I like the general sound since it reminds me a lot of Sybreed in the old days. I never liked Bideau though! I stopped listening to Mnemic when he replaced Bøgballe... Hes vocals just throws me off.
