I have a few I regret buying. This is when I miss Blockbuster and/or the option to rent games. There are games I want to play but don't really want to own.
Super Mario Party is that impulse buy you make so you can be included in game night... impulse buys like that are for $5-$10 games, not $60... And yeah, nostalgia glasses have caused more than one regrettable game purchase for me before as Nintendo brings more and more of its old games back to life through NSO and other methods of reboots, we either double down on our fav games from years past (which luckily, has held true for a sizeable chunk of them) or we wonder what the younger versions of us were thinking for being obsessed 🤣
@@BWICK The text is very small even on my Big S teevee. 43 inches across ; a modern miracle and apparently the in game time is not real time ? Not difficult but but still too much.
It’s interesting to me that most of these games were ones that I was super excited for and loved seeing the community play and get into or get hyped for but after that died down they weren’t ones that just I could play or get sucked into, hoping for more games that I can play whenever despite the player base getting lower 🙌🏻
The thing that put me off with Pokemon Snap is the rating system. You could have a centered, in focus shot of a pokemon munching on a berry and it would give you like... 2 stars. Kinda frustrating.
The pile of "game night games" that I bought just to play with people but inevitably left behind....is soooo tall. But my #1 biggest regret is Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze. I LOVED Donkey Kong Country on SNES, so I was definitely wearing my nostalgia glasses. I agree on the community games though. And not necessarily games you play in-game with people. It's probably the Animal Crossing effect, but I like playing games that other people are playing so we can talk about gameplay. So if it's a game that everyone was hype for....and then everyone stops playing, its extra disappointing.
Thank you for confirming my feelings on some of these games. I always look for single player games. I work early in the morning so I won't be up late to play with others.
The fact that Super Mario Party has only 4 boards was such a let down for us. We still played it quite a bit as a family but we don’t pick it up anymore. We’d rather play Mario Kart. And Pokémon Snap… we got this for our daughter as a birthday gift, she was super hyped about it, but she quickly lost interest in it.
Lol tiny mode looks sick for new Pokémon snap. Super Mario party was lacking for sure. I had almost the whole game beat and Then I wasn’t into it. I returned it and got the new one. Much happier with that
I bought Pokémon Snap and played it for a day.. Definitely wasn't worth the money.... I almost bought Mario Party so many times and now im glad I didn't..
Without a doubt Switch Sports for me. Which is a shame b/c I absolutely loved Wii Sports and had so many hours in that. It just falls flat on the Switch.
I don’t have any of these lol. Pokémon Snap was an immediate no for me when I watched gameplay. Speaking of Pokémon, my biggest regret is Pokémon Legends: Arceus. It felt tedious, the story was boring, the world was lame and empty. It was a slog to get through and honestly had to force myself to play. 🙃
@@BWICK I know, it's kind of a hot take. I was really excited to play and then it just fell completely flat for me, but hey, I finished it so that's something lol.
Ooooo Blaine I would so recommend giving New Pokémon Snap another shot. Some of the levels like the beach in the evening are just stunning. And you do see a lot of the OGs for that nostalgia factor 😊
I’m kinda the same..i was so excited for it and then I just couldn’t get into it enough. It just repetitive and I don’t think I really knew what I was doing. I’ve been wanting to give it another try but I never do.
Great video guys! I’ve never played previous Super Mario Party games and I do wish there was more content but I love it and I do feel like I’ve gotten my money’s worth in terms of hours spent playing it with my family! I think one game I regret buying is Super Mario Odyssey. Not that it’s a bad game or anything but I never ever play it. I just have so many other games I’d rather play than that
I regret the 25.00 I paid for houseflipper on the switch. The controls are so bad and I felt so dizzy like I was going to barf. I want to try it on the pc.
I have none of these lol although Rune Factort was on my list but will probably never get around to playing it cause of new games coming out soon. I have MK8 and Super Smash bros which I only regret buying cause money wasted on games I never finished but I did have at least 1-2 months of fun with friends 😂
Yeah with games like harvestella coming idk if rune factory would be worth it at this point. also great call on smash that might be an honorable mention to my list
I regret buying Splatoon 3 even the splatfests can't get me to play the game i will probably just finish the story mode and then sell the game and probably buy a taiko game

Is gamefly not a thing anymore?
@@allisonlorene5056 I have no clue, I never used Gamefly. I honestly forgot it existed until I just read your comment 😅... me now looking it up lol

Star Dew Valley ; which all my kids & some of my knitters recommended.. WAY too complicated for me.
I agree. This is probably the biggest regret buy ever for me.
I can definitely see stardew being a big regret

Switch Sports! I just want to play regular bowling online, not the obstacle ones.
I agree on no obstacles I still loved switch sports but there should be a way to pick which bowling mode you want to jump in to

Ohh I didn’t get a chance to try this one yet but I guess now I won’t
Thank you for confirming my feelings on some of these games. I always look for single player games. I work early in the morning so I won't be up late to play with others.
I’m with you BWICK, I regret Mitopia and Pokemon Snap.
love this video blaine! Lol great to know what games to pick up or not honestly! :)

Yesss Mario Party was so lacking it was disappointing for sure
For New Pokemon Snap, although I only got like 4-5 days of play out of it for a total of 30 hours, the entire time was an absolute blast for me
I did enjoy the little bit I played but for some reason it didn’t keep me coming back after a little bit
Breath of the wild, Luigi's mansion 3, Pikmin 3 and Link's awakening remake. Those are the games a regret buying.
Sadly I only have ACNH. I was thinking of getting BOTW and Kirby in the future.
oh gosh you have to get BotW. One of the best games of all time across any console for sure!!
Lol tiny mode looks sick for new Pokémon snap. Super Mario party was lacking for sure. I had almost the whole game beat and Then I wasn’t into it. I returned it and got the new one. Much happier with that
New Pokemon Snap annoyed me after a while with how arbitrary or overly-complicated it became to get pokemon to do stuff/appear.
I would say maybe Shield and the first dlc only because so many other things came out it went to the back burner and I’ve barely touched it
Ohh Pokémon shield? I could see this
I bought Pokémon Snap and played it for a day.. Definitely wasn't worth the money.... I almost bought Mario Party so many times and now im glad I didn't..
I love the thumbnail.
Stardew Valley for me. I don’t think there is anything in that game I enjoy.
🤣 you sound like me! Watch out people hate that opinion haha!
I agree! Lol I don’t get all the Stardew hype-just not for me I guess
Without a doubt Switch Sports for me. Which is a shame b/c I absolutely loved Wii Sports and had so many hours in that. It just falls flat on the Switch.
I’m surprised on switch sports I have a ton of fun with it! Maybe we’ll have to play some more in discord for community games! 😂
@@BWICK maybe I should tell Switch Sports “it’s not you, it’s me “. 🤣
I don’t have any of these lol. Pokémon Snap was an immediate no for me when I watched gameplay.

I’m a HUGE Pokémon fan & pokemon Arceus was my biggest regret…. I tried so hard to get into it but it ended up on fb market place 4 days later 😅😭
Ooooo Blaine I would so recommend giving New Pokémon Snap another shot. Some of the levels like the beach in the evening are just stunning. And you do see a lot of the OGs for that nostalgia factor 😊
I bought Story of Seasons PooT for $60 and didn’t like it at ALL.
Oh nooo I think it’s big time on sale right now too
I also agree with this! Stardew and SOS-not for me and I learned the hard way
I’m kinda the same..i was so excited for it and then I just couldn’t get into it enough. It just repetitive and I don’t think I really knew what I was doing. I’ve been wanting to give it another try but I never do.
I regret buying the Lego villains game and it’s 60$ I wish there was a way to refund the games on the e shop 😢

Enjoying the takes
Oooof miitopia! I was so excited for that one, then I never even finished the demo 🙈
Mine is Picman. It was an impulse buy and the game play is just not my style.
Ohh I didn’t get a chance to try the latest pikmin but enjoyed the games growing up. I could see this for sure!
I regret the 25.00 I paid for houseflipper on the switch. The controls are so bad and I felt so dizzy like I was going to barf. I want to try it on the pc.

i don’t have any of these, but i do agree that charizard should be in every pokemon and can never be overused
I regret buying story if seasons poot and hyrule warriors
I regret buying Splatoon 3 even the splatfests can't get me to play the game i will probably just finish the story mode and then sell the game and probably buy a taiko game
I could definitely see this at this point looking back. I could probably do an updated video of this!
