Iv just got the rhythm few days ago great little machine I will probably end up getting the tracks too just pity it only has two synth tracks the two midi tracks sound cool but most synths have step sequencers and sync so I don't really get the who midi tracks thing when they could have made them all synth tracks or at least assignible

The Cirquit's synth engine is based on a synthesizer called "mininova" from Novation. It is a pretty poweful synth, but you know, it was released maybe ten years ago, so it's not the latest in terms of hardware. Nothing bad about using the same engine in the cirquit line of grooveboxes. You can still buy a mininova and it is more expensive than the cirquits.
Every synth has a maximum processing capability, so you just cant't squeeze out how many "virtual synths" and poly voices as you like.
Novation engineers sort of split the engine in two, wich gives you two tracks of six voice polyphony each. That is no too bad, even if I mostly use one for a monophonic voice. Still, so far, I haven't managed to overload the processor so that it crached or glitched either. It is a really stable engine with very few bugs. If it was overloaded, I don't think it would behave so well as it does.
After they released the first Cirquit, Novation got feedback from people who really liked the sequencer and actually requested assignable midi tracks for the next iteration of the Cirquit.
Adding two midi tracks doesn't require them to expand on the existing platform too much. Midi is very "light" on computing power and I suspect that the sequencer part is run by a separate processor anyway.
Adding two more synth voices would mean packing a whole lot more of the expensive stuff in there.
I find it neat to have those two extra midi tracks, just because it's such a useful sequencer. Also, it is nice to have those patterns saved in the cirquit tracks, in the same "project" rather than having to remember wich pattern on wich synth goes together.
