Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One: Opening (Submarine) Scene w/ Opening Logos (HD)

- I included the opening logos at the start of the video, why?
Because I could not be able to see the Paramount Pictures and the Skydance logos and I also could not be able to see the Submarine zoom-in/close-up when I went to the cinemas near my school/local household, that's why I'm a little late and that's why there's full parking space due to the movie being severely overrated but I really like how this movie is one of the BEST movies I've ever watched so far.
(C) Paramount Pictures - Under section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976
I don't own anything, all belongs to the movie itself.
The submarine captain does not lose his composure and continues to give commands to his subordinates even before his death. A true leader.
Well, thats what the job requires from you. You dont become a captain of a submarine if you get scared and hide at the first hint of danger.
3:41 The Cyrillic writing on the torpedo is удачи! (Pronounced “udacha” which means “Good luck!”
Its amazing how Calm he was filming a pretend scene where he fake dies
I,m proud to say that captain was Played by my National famous Polish Actor Marcin Dorocinski

I love how after The Entity heard the human sonar operator at 2:48 commenting on how the sounds he's hearing should mean that the enemy submarine should be closer than that due to his years of training
The Entity then went "Oh yeah... right, that's maybe a little bit too far" and then readjusted the submarine position on the display to make it seem more believable
Nothing moves that fast..humans were right. They made decisions based out of fear and dig their own grave. Eliminate emotions. We can always beat ai no matter how much calculations it can make per second.. that's what Ethan counting on in the next part..
Wow nice catch
@@wildblaze8712Easy for you to say when you're in the position to make those decisions.
You know it’s a stellar movie when the opening actors, who aren’t even top billed, are killing it.
One of the best beginning scene I saw. There are so many movies and stories that tell us how dangerous KI is.
You mean AI😂😂
@@Alitheone76 im from Switzerland. We call it KI . Künstliche Intelligenz. Good for you?

its too bad the rest of the movie wasnt as good
What makes this movie unique from the rest of the franchise is that it opens without any of the main characters.
Ghost Protocol did the same
So did JAWS.
The sub was in the back of my head the whole movie, i knew they were gonna save the submarine mission for part 2
@@rmgilyardHe said the rest of the franchise, not all movies
I honestly think this movie should’ve opened with a badass mission that takes place in Ethan hunt’s early years in the imf with a young cgi Tom cruise face and how he and the movies villain came to be. Kinda like the opening to the new Indiana Jones movie
6:37 i love the entity sound effect
SAME dude. The growl makes sense if you think about it as well, considering that the Entity only growls when (jn this case) it has a victory, or it wishes to reveal itself. A growl is a noticeable sound, very similar to the very noticeable marks it leaves on the Internet.
Me too bro ! 😮😮😂
The opening shot of this movie in Bering sea has become my all time favourite
The submarine captain is actually played by Polish actor Marcin Dorocinski, while his executive officer is a Russian played by Ivan Ivashkin.
This is one of the best opening scenes ever
A rogue AI tricking a stealth submarine to fire on itself. Eerie projection of the future.
@@skymaster4743 3:41 The Cyrillic writing on the torpedo is удачи! (Pronounced “udacha” which means “Good luck!”
it’s so good. Love submarines
Exactly
I don’t understand why people thought this was a bad movie? The plot makes sense for the most part.
I think it was more it just was released at the wrong time with Barbie and Oppenheimer destroying the box office as I agree, great movie.
Nah man audiences like us and the critics loved it, it’s just that it’s marketing was low and released on barbenheimer
@@mr.formal6723 Geez really? Is that why this movie did that badly?
@@madmarcus1709 Tom Cruise even mad at marketers for releasing at the same month with Oppenheimer, losing IMAX lol
No one said that
Mission impossible 7 was a 10/10 movie and a must watch for everyone
I agree, 10/10 too.
MI 6 better.
Agreed
@@_-TARS_we’re talking about this one. Not about which is one better
I think it would've done even better at the box office had it not been for 'Barbenheimer' releasing so close to it.
The Entity is the scariest villain, no wonder the M:I movies are far more superior to Bond.
I love the bond movies but they’re inconsistent with quality. Mission gets better every film
Terminator lvl thread.
I love how mission impossible raises the stakes every movie
@@kindofabigdeal7284 the 2018 mission impossible is pure garbage
This is what Ultron should have been
Oh yeah meeen
Ultron would have had all of the powers from the movie EAGLE EYE.
Omnipresence, Omniscience, omnipotence, Technopathy.
This has got to be the greatest opening in all of movie history. The introduction of the villain, the tension buildup, the cinematography, the music its all just absolute perfection
If you look at the screen on the right at 3:26, you can see the Entity already taking over the screen.
Yeah. It looks like the eye of the entity
originally the Entity was going to have red visuals instead of blue, it's possible forgot to change it here (and that you have a very keen eye)
(i'm looking at it again and for a split second it's a radar and then it changes to the entity. You're an absolute legend for noticing this little detail)
@@Peertje304I also read it was gonna have a human form
@@ytuser_3122 3:41 The Cyrillic writing on the torpedo is удачи! (Pronounced “udacha” which means “Good luck!”
What makes this sequence even more interesting is that you learn Mcquarrie chose people that looked like they would be on a submarine and not real actors
Ngl one of the coolest and best overall openings of all time.
Love the logic of the entity manipulating humans into sinking its greatest vulnerability to the bottom of the ocean. I'm curious to see how exactly Ethan plans to get down there lol
Me too, I bet Tom Cruise is gonna skydive into the ice cold water and he’ll fight against Gabriel to destroy The Entity’s source code. I’m curious to know where that plane sequence they shot will play into the plot.
They need Magneto
But without humans, power will go out in the sub soon without proper maintenance of its nuclear reactors, did the AI lack IQ to see that?
@@administratorshanit's burying its source code, it doesn't care to run in the sub, it's on the internet.
We could not ask for a more mysterious, scary and exciting opening to an epic movie
The Entity was playing mind games with the submarine equipment. It wanted the Russians to think they were being attacked so that they could launch their own torpedo and use it against them. This is why A.I. can be very bad for humanity.
The Entity joins Skynet and Ultron as great examples for why AI is bad for humanity
@@ytuser_3122right
@@ytuser_3122 Thank you!
Yes I too think we should make important science policy decisions based on an action movie
AI is a puny it will *NEVER* I repeat *NEVER* *EVER* take over humanity
Loved this opening. Felt like a modern take those Bond pre-title sequences from movies like Spy Who Loved Me and Tomorrow Never Dies, while still doing its own thing
An underrated part of this scene is how the movie overlapped and faded the russian and english to overcome the ‘characters speaking in a foreign language in an english-language movie’ issue
Same technique was used in the movie Valkyrie(2008).
It is a also Tom Cruise movie!
It shows how much dangerous, cunning, clever and intelligent AI can be
This scene is Masterpiece.
The opening in this movie was great, the Entity’s distorted groan reminds me a lot of The Grudge. I also thought to myself that this submarine would be where the final battle for Dead Reckoning Part 2 would be set as Ethan kills it and repeatedly reminding myself “This is part 1 of a 2 part story”
"Heh... Heh... Just you wait, bro." - ChatGPT
It was the perfect introduction to make sure the villain in this movie had a terrifying power
The Entity: The world's most intelligent, powerful weapon.
Also the Entity: Fires a torpedo at its own submarine.
I didn’t realise the first time that The Entity heard the crewman mention the readings didn’t make sense and readjusted itself so that they would
Good opening, good movie. A shame it didn't perform well in the US.
This opening was much better than all the other scenes.
BRING BACK ILSA!!!!
Bro, she dead. She's not coming back.
@@danielstrange9794the fact they replaced her so quick lmao
@@forfucksakecomradeshe had to leave because of silo. Otherwise she would have stayed
Here's what I hope is gonna happen if she shows up in Part 2: it turns out Ethan arranged for her death to be faked once again to protect her from the Entity, and also to trick the Entity into erasing her MI6 records, thus ensuring her complete freedom from MI6.
@@oliverconway6960sadly no Rebecca Ferguson wanted out of mission impossible franchise
I remember that I though the missile was Ethan pulling some impossible stunt again to enter in the submarine
The history of this movie gets pretty wild when the discover that was a AI
Well in the next sequel he might need to pull a stunt or two to enter it 'cuz the source code of the entity is in the sub.
Fist itan team need to avoid detection by P-8 poseidon anti-sub planes, underwater status-6 drone torpedoes.
outstanding opening
The russian accent and music adds so kuch to the thrilling feeling
Loved this tense opening scene, I don't know about you, but it gave me some John McTiernan vibes.
Well, yeah cuz he directed Hunt For Red October
This scene felt like it was from an action movie in the late 1990's/early 2000's in a good way.
The Entity... it evolved, killer machine, no emotion, no concession, and master technology... who will shut down and kill Entity...?
Gondor will answer.
Ethan hunt
Is a Pied Piper AI
Skynet
John Connor will shut it down
4:37 that chessboard is a reference to the Queen's Gambit show.
Best scene from all MI
This was a beautiful scene, utterly dumb & illogical, but beautiful
It's like The Entity is the new Solomon Lane in the form of an A.I.
Either it wants to rule the world or destroy it. I wonder what does Gabriel gain from all this? Or he truly believes that The Entity is his version of God.
This is a lot like the AI from Wargames, that nearly started a thermonuclear war by making it seem the Soviets launched nukes by manipulating the alert systems and sonar. Great concept because you know one day it's going to be a real problem
And the movie Eagle Eye. Same maverick AI

Can you do the CIA and mask scene as well? :)
Yes, at the end, we are impossible to find the ghost ship.
This movie has plenty of good stuff in parts....Shame entire movie wasn't good.
The movie was good, but, wtf all the people here going like "this shows us how dangerous AI can be". Do you people really measure real life by stuff that happen in freaking movies?
Christopher Mcquarrie sure loves The Abbys by James Cameron.
This scene is an inspiration from the first act.
MI : Fallout
The helicopter chase reference is the submersible chase in The Abbys.
This is why I'm not becoming a software engineer; not only do they create AI, but AI also creates flaws, which in turn is detrimental to us and posterity.
So awesome
You can make a movie with this crew and submarine and I will watch it.
The state of the art of war
scene is masterpiece
I haven't seen the movie but I'm guessing there was never another submarine in the first place and "The Entity" (I read up about it) created the facade of an attacker to make them hit themselves with their own torpedo. What an opening for a movie.
You acutally don't need to watch the whole movie to unterstand the scene.
Reminds me "The Spy who loved me"
The opening scene is very The Spy Who Loved Me-esque
Right down to the chess set :)

Best movie 👍👍👍 from start to finish.
21st century war, using enemy's weapon to kill the enemy. Fantastic strategy (Y)
I find it very difficult to believe that a Cold War submarine (with a traditional screw propulsion) could do what the Sub Captain claimed to do during his mission. Unless we assume that the Entity kept them hidden by altering the detection systems of every Major Navy in the World.
Quantum communication is strong enough to pierce through any barriers even water.
Sonar data ai post processing need to easy maintain target parameters to enemy digital, electronic system.
I hear china is achive stable signal of 100m underwhater distance.
But it was five year ago.
The ones I feel for the most are the guys down in weapons who got instantly crushed by the torpedos after impact
The AI is same in the silicon valley series
Pied Piper AI is breaking every security system.
If you ping them with sonar of course they would be able to see you
Think about the idea was conceived in 2019
Yeah i recognize it in first place
No hesitation
It's amazing how Polish actors make a credible Russian in an American movie, rather than Russians themselves getting the role 🤦♀️
If you look closely at the red screen in this frame [3:27]. You can see what the entity was going to look like

Chatgpt is skynet
What if the entity took the form of an actual human being and killed him
Literally skynet type shit
Why would the Entity want to sink itself?
Just imagine if AI could penetrate into nuclear missiles control systems.. so AI should be used very cautiously. AI is not joke. Humans gave power to AI and AI started going against humans, this should not happen.
Thankfully the Russians are speaking English so we can understand
In the film universe they actually talk in russian as you can hear in the first line. Then it transitions into english so we can understand.
Why they speaking English?
They are not. If you pay attention, the captain is speaking Russian at first but it is dubbed and translated to English so we could understand them.
It's a cool scene but a bit illogical considering what the entity can do. To kill all the crew of the submarine, why faking a presence of an enemy-submarine? Why din't it just release those torpedo missile right away? For a digital intelligence is a bit off. All these only for the demands of the storyline.
The presence of enemy submarine was used to trick the crew thinking they’re was and made them use a torpedo
@julianezekielyaranon9037 yeah but, couldn't the entity just use the torpedo without tricking the crew? What's the point for an artificial intelligence to "play" with the crew? Just kill theme all without warning if that's your only goal.
@@Dafukisthat yeah but remember the entity was in it’s early stage and didn’t how to control weapons until later in the scene

Loading torpedoes is a Manual work
They've just shown you in the video.
How dumb are you?
And if AI goes sentient it will behave like a super Intelligence with high Emotional Intelligence.
The entity being Manipulative and theatrical is not Far from the truth.
Also what guarantees that it survives in the submarine system. What if the whole submarine is destroyed including the system with blast?
This is very unrealistic.... why would the ruzzian navy name a submarine after a Ukrainian port?
