He sings like the devil is on his heels! Love his work! I got to know this kickass band in 1995 I was just a kid....How the world changed indeed. If anyone read the Dark Tower series by Stephen King You'd almost think these songs where for Roland.
@darksniper77 Seems so, I was lucky enough to have a pair of their songs show up on my pandora radio station. This is what country music should have evolved into in the last couple decades, not the twangy rap that it is today.
I guess you didn't hear me When I told you for the first time Well don't you worry It won't be the last All I need a floorboard An a wooden shoe Step aside an let my lady through Hey foot, straw foot Low we lay 'em down Hey foot, straw foot Up an back around See the high priest He took my place When the judge looks to me He saw a son's face Not gonna join you in Your tower of babble, boy Tired of that talkin' I'm sick of that noise Hey foot, straw foot Low we lay 'em down Hey foot, straw foot Coverin' ground I am not alone An looks can be deceivin' When we get down to it You're talkin' when you Should be leavin' I've been to Nebraska It reminded me of Spain All the questions loaded All my answers same Hey foot, straw foot Low we lay 'em down Hay foot, straw foot Coverin' ground Let us not mince our words let's say it true this time I need your forgiveness Just like you need mine Tell me how it is that You don't want what He's given It ain't no sin, son To be forgiven Hey foot, straw foot Low we lay 'em down Hey foot, straw foot All over town
Hei,,jeg hørte de på DOWN ON THE FARM i Enningdalen , i 1997. Ganske rått og flott, har fulgt med de,,Noe av det fineste jeg har hørt!! FREMDELES/STILLDag
HAHA! never heard this song/band before. Just chanced upon a John Keane singing this here on youtube... so I had to come here and hear the original... LOVE IT!
I had the luck DevilDriver covered them, so a lot of people came on them. They didn't do it to harm the song, I think rather to make them more famous by showing them to their fans. Since then I did not really got into them but I have to say the last few weeks have been a lot of Woven Hand and 16 Horsepower. The underrating of these bands is just impossibly to much...
Yes. Certainly is a Christian. This is clear after you listen to most of his body of work from 16 horsepower and Wovenhand. Watch the documentary "The Preacher," as well.
This was a tactic used in older days when recruits in the 'military' wouldn't often even know left from right, so generals would tie hay to one foot and straw the other foot, simply giving directions via "hayfoot" and "strawfoot"
Yes, he's a believer, and while the band's music was classified a country goth (🤔) the majority of their songs incorporate a message about the Messiah in some way.

He saw a son's face

Tired of that talkin'
I'm sick of that noise
Hey foot, straw foot
Low we lay 'em down
Hey foot, straw foot
Coverin' ground
I am not alone
An looks can be deceivin'
When we get down to it
You're talkin' when you
Should be leavin'

Low we lay 'em down
Hay foot, straw foot
Coverin' ground
Let us not mince our words

I need your forgiveness
Just like you need mine
Tell me how it is that
You don't want what He's given
It ain't no sin, son
To be forgiven
Hey foot, straw foot
Low we lay 'em down
Hey foot, straw foot
All over town

whats a strawfoot?
This was a tactic used in older days when recruits in the 'military' wouldn't often even know left from right, so generals would tie hay to one foot and straw the other foot, simply giving directions via "hayfoot" and "strawfoot"
Stupid question, but is this a christian singer? Because I saw someone suggest that, and I was wondering if that's true.
