Using Google translate: Hallo Kauft!
Great video, thanks! I’m just getting started with Catawiki and was wondering, how accurate are the ‘expert estimations’ on items according to you? I often see items estimated at €2000 or so auctioned for a couple of hundred euros. Seems to good to be true?
Hey KonfuzeOfficial, thanks for your support :) So far their estimates are quite accurate. Usually I see it go over. If you ever see one way below, probably it has a reserve and won’t be sold. Read the descriptions carefully before you bid. So far, sellers have been transparent but like all e-platforms let’s hope you will not encounter any bad apples. Look out for the seller rating 95% and above is good. Anyway, they recently opened a Singapore office so that shows consumer/brand confidence. Let me know if you need more help! 😊
In eBay I was selling a watch, then the platform take a 21.8% of the sell price of me- so in the end I didn’t have any profit at all. How about catawiki? Cause I want profit after all. 😮
Hello Ace, you might have a few warnings and would then have to pay a penalty if I am not wrong, worse you might be banned. Same rules apply to all auction houses.
Hello Kat. Unfortunately, you could only chat with sellers after you win the bid. That is a current drawback of the Catawiki app… unless they had updated it recently. I have not been bidding much lately. Hope it works out for you :)
It is good to be careful of everything you bid. Check the provenance of the lots before you decide. But yeah for Cata, we are unable to chat with the seller until after we win bids, which is kinda not so good.

@@KonfuzeOfficial happy shopping! :)
Can sellers choose to not sell you the item if it didn’t reach a high enough bid price ?
Yes they can. It is called a reserve price

@@TheNotoriousGallery Hey! From my last dealing it was 9% :) much better. But check into their website first before listing!
did you had to pay for customs taxes and duties for these watches bought?
It was all embedded in the shipping cost fortunately for me
I’m stoned and I saw the cat
What happens if you win the bid and then you don’t decide to purchase?

How can you ask sellers questions?
