Listen To The Porsche Macan EV's Fake Engine Sounds

➡️Porsche’s new Macan Electric certainly goes fast, but does it sound fast? It does if you equip it with the Porsche Electric Sport Sound system. A $490/£353 option on the base Macan 4 Electric and the Macan Turbo Electric in America, but standard on UK Turbos, the sound generator is much like the one that’s been available on the Taycan for the last few years.
All-wheel drive is standard on both versions of the Macan EV, but while the base $78,800 Macan 4 Electric pumps out 402 hp (300 kW) and 479 lb-ft (648 Nm) of torque and goes from 0-60 mph (06 km/h) in 4.9 seconds, the $105,300 Turbo generates a meaty 630 hp (470 kW) and 833 lb-ft (1,128 Nm) of torque that drops the sixty time to 3.1 seconds.

This video was not shot in Germany (as I've read in other websites) but in Vienna, Austria. They were filmed in the area of the Vienna International Center (V.I.C.), where the U.N. is headquartered, and in the area of Praterstern, near Vienna's famous amusement park. I live near these 2 areas (only 10 min. away by electric scooter) and I drive there almost every day. Just for your information!

Isn't the sport sound package just an amplification of the sounds from the electric motors with slight altering the the EQ (making it sound more bass heavy)

yup, up to 25mph they're required to make sounds so pedestrians have a chance of hearing their approach. Most have an option about whether you hear the same thing inside or not.

You need to have one, both in the inside and outside. Without an outdoors fake sound you’re bound to hit a pedestrian that does not pay attention at some point. RR used to have ICE cars that their cabin was completely silent, and drivers were complaining that the complete silence was driving them crazy, thus reduced the noise cancelling

It’s an option and u can switch it on or off so it’s not a problem. Some people like it some don’t. U can choose

It's for safety reasons, the sound is to warn some pedestrians of the presence of the car. Pedestrians are still not used to completely silent cars and may cross a footway without checking if a car is approaching.

I've got an EV without sound and pedestrians dont notice me. They are walking in the middle of a parking lot like they own the damn place. When I honk it scares the sh*t out of them. Sounds are mandatory
