Wow, I've already implemented H5P on my online learning site but I didn't even think about possible issues with the BuddyBoss App - I really appreciate all the hard work to ensure this works at launch! It's also important to note that the H5P quizzes and questionnaires are not recorded by LearnDash out-of-the-box but can be done with a xAPI or GrassBlade LRS. Most follow a zapier-like SaaS model that can get quite expensive, but Uncanny Owls' Tin Canny Reporting for LearnDash plugin is very reasonable by comparison and works from within your website.
Also, I have confirmed that H5P shortcodes work with the User Blog plugin as well and I was planning to implement this as a premium option at some point. Of course, the biggest hurdle is going to be figuring out how to provide the H5P editor from the front-end but compatibility with the App is another concern now too. It would be great if you guys threw in that H5P block into the User Blog plugin text editor (and let us User Blog peeps see an update).
We appreciate your feedback/suggestion. We'll pass the suggestion to the product team. If we get enough requests for this, we'll consider adding it into the product.
Hi. What if I have over 1000 h5p modules. How do I look for one of them in the dropdown list? Thanks. Is there another similar or better option than H5P that Buddypress and Learndash use? Thanks.
Hi team, re: 6:50 .... I use H5P content and the audio recorder works in my Safari browser on iPhone. I embed via the H5P shortcode in a custom post type, but not in Learn Dash. I'm currently using BuddyBoss platform and theme.
Hi, thanks for the videos! I don't see the H5p block in BuddyBoss, why could it be, is it a special addon? I am doing it from the PC and I already installed the H5P plugin in wordpress. Why don't I see the H5P block in BuddyBoss?
@@BuddybossWP Thank you for your response! What I want to know is if the H5P block shown in the video is only in the App. I am using H5P from the platform through WordPress, I am not using the app. And I would like to know if it is that this H5P block alone is not included in the App and not in the platform (from where I am working). Thanks.
We do not have any official integration with H5P for the BuddyBoss Platofm, but normally it should work in WordPress, If not you can create a support ticket so that our technical team can further check. h5p.org/wordpress
Great job, guys! About Speak the Words, the problem isn't "mobile browsers", because it works on Chromium-based mobile browsers. But because iOS doesn't allow such browsers this content isn't supported. However I don't see why it wouldn't work on the Android app if it's based on Chromium.
It can work in Android. But you have to assume your users are using a mixture of Android and iOS devices, so if you add the content it will only work for those on Android. That is up to you if you want to do that.
@@BuddybossWP Thanks for the reply. So does that mean it will work on the Android app? 90% of our users have an Android phone. In some developing countries iPhones are way too expensive so many don't even bother creating iOS apps for certain niches.
Well there ever be support for adding CPT-like support in the app? I have a community that uses CPTs for directory listings, but from what I can tell, there is currently no way to support that in the app.
@Dave Charbonneau The BuddyBoss App will be released at some point in January or February. When the product is released, anyone who purchased the BuddyBoss App for January/February delivery period will receive an email with access to the BuddyBoss App and when you receive the email you will be able to access everything you need to set up, configure, and customize your mobile application.
Looks amazing! Looking forward to receiving it - I purchased pretty much the next day when your team launched the product. Question - how would WP Job Manager look like in the app? It's kinda my main concern as I don't see it mentioned anywhere.
Thanks for your interest in our BuddyBoss App. :) As with the WP Job Manager, you can load it in a web view in the app without any custom coding. The web view will be within the app, with a native header and tab bar. If you want to have it displayed in native code then that would require some work - writing APIs and creating React Native screens.
For seeing H5P in the demo, we have not added any H5P courses to our public demo just yet. We will update the demo pretty soon with H5P courses and also documents.
@@BuddybossWP has H5P been added to your public demo yet? I'd particularly like to check out the H5P Course Presentation display. Can these be displayed full-screen landscape?

@@BuddybossWP How will video uploading work? Will all assets be immediately pushed to a cloud storage provider? Also, will all videos be encoded? If so, what service is doing the encoding?
@@klefka In the first phase the videos will be uploaded to your WordPress server, with support for "WP Offload Media" plugin if you want to offload your assets to a cloud storage provider. That plugin supports Amazon and Google for your whole media library. Encoding/compression will come in phase 2 of the feature as it adds a quite a bit of complexity to the project.
@@BuddybossWP I'm guessing we can use mediacloud.press/ in place of WP Offload Media; it's basically like WP Offload Media, except all assets can be directly uploaded to a cloud storage provider instead of going through the Wordpress server first. Hello, currently we have not yet tested H5P or any plugin that provides H5P features in the web version running with our BuddyBoss Theme and Platform, therefore we cannot guarantee any compatibility.
