Move one piece of the garland over to the right at the top of the stairs (balcony) and add a wreath in the middle to cover the slack. You wouldn’t even know it isn’t long enough 😉
Lol I was gonna say in hindsight I guess you should have started at the top lol but the wreath idea sounds good but my A type personality would have to fix it lol good like I love watching you and your my woman across the room. Kim R. 😂
Hello Kim. My husband and I have two children one is 36 and one is 34 both out of the house, not married and have no children, but they still come over every year to help decorate the tree which has paper ornaments from when they were in kindergarten homemade ornaments, memory, ornaments of trips we’ve taken and so on. To me that tree is priceless.
You are living your best life. Living with gratitude and not making overly consumed events that spoil children. You are the true survivor. Happy and peaceful holidays to you and your family.
Our tree is normally disne ornaments and memory ones but they are still burried in the back of our storage shed. So this year I went to ross and picked up gold and white and red birds and same color of ornaments from dollar tree and the tree turned out beautiful
Random guy looking for Christmas decor ideas.....came for decor ideas....stayed for the show...awesome!! I'm not into 'trends'. I decorate my tree and house in the late 50's early 60s style...flocked everything, colored lights, vintage glass ornaments, train around the tree base...all the nostalgia vibes!
Hey from the UK! Just wanted to say we have a hodge-podge tree too and I absolutely love it. We get ornaments when we travel, or from special events. Every year when we decorate the tree it's like a memory-box for us ❤
I’m 64 and I still hang my 2 kids ornaments on the tree that they made in their primary years. They are 40 and 44. I have 9 grands and have homemade ornaments for them as well! I love it so much each year when I get them out!!!!
In my home as a kid I loved all the 80s-90s style of mismatch ornaments and every piece of the living room was filled with shiny things hanging from everywhere. I absolutely loved it. As an adult with kids I'm so boring, I have matching decor and not very many special ornaments. I love everyones decorations insta or not. I love just the joy it brings to everyone do whatever makes it magical for you and your family 🥳
My tree is full of ornaments we've collected over the years, received for gifts, bought on vacation, been thrifted or have been made by my kids. I love our collection of ornaments and how special they are.
Me too! And I also have several vintage ones that my momma made, like crocheted ones. I’m always so careful with them. To me, it’s about memories of my childhood, and now memories of my kids and grands.
Thank you so much for sharing decorating your tree. It made me cry, remembering I use to do that with my kids. Now they are all grown up and live very very far away. Thank you again. Ann
I can't imagine having family so far away. Both my family and my husband's family all live not so far, the farthest is 6 hours away the rest are all within 20 min drive. And we both come from large families
Clearly, you ARE the Queen-of-Christmas-Across-the-Room, Kim! Love the way you've decorated your home for the holidays and it's awesome how you've come up with so many mouth-watering treats. Everyone will have a sensational time at Casa de Wads throughout this festive season!🎄
Oh my heart ❤️ watching you and your kids decorating your tree brings back so many memories of my girls…so excited to decorate…now it’s just me..I so miss those days😢
While I've dreamt of a color coordinated perfect tree, the older I get (now I'm 65 and Nana to six lovely grandkids) the more I appreciate my tree full of homemade ornaments, special ones brought back from vacation places, gifts from my daughter who has traveled the world, and now, most precious, things my grandkids make and give to me, or ornaments I've purchased that commemorate them in some way. Your tree is magical, especially Tina. It did make me burst into tears, but I love it.
I love the more "homely" feel decorated trees. Im like you, our tree has all the decorations the kids made throughout the years and ornaments me and my husband had as kids. We collect ornaments from places we've been. So its more like a memory tree and we love it!
Your *MEMORY TREE" is gorgeous. 🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄 I loved the crafted covid ornament. Vintage glass ornaments came to me when my grandparents and an elderly aunt passed. My mother made a million crafted (quilted, beaded, painted) ornaments. My dad made stained glass ornaments and I Have ornaments from dumpster diving adventures in the bins behind the Hallmark store. I bought some when I traveled, received gifts from friends and crafted, thrifted and after-Christmas-80%-off-saled some myself. And as I am downsizing from multiple large to multiple small trees, I am passing my larger nicer ornaments to younger family members and giving the excess to Goodwill.
We have had a Christmas tree in our various homes for over 49 years. Never a coordinated tree. I could never give up the ones with the memories of my children’s craft attempts, the ones from various travels and activities and even a few that are generational.
Short Story Long: I moved back home to live with my mom when my dad passed. I always had a matchy matching tree. But my mom.. her tree looks like yours. And everyone loves it so much. Bc there's so much to look at. And literally, every ornament has a story behind it. Such a great conversation peace. And when people come over they stand and look at the tree for so long! Bc there's just so much to look at. Ornaments from the 60s even! And we're Indigenous.. (Mi'kmaq/FirstNations) so we have some made of porcupine quills.. some made of the 4 sacred medicines which is -sweet grass, cedar, tobacco & and sage, some made of different types of wood like Black Ash, Maple & Cotton Fibre.. some my Oma made and those are crochet. Oh! She also made beaded kind of ornaments. She was big into beadwork. Then all the ones we made and our kids made growing up. And last but certainly not least.. we have a ton that look just like yours! All that to say.. our tree looks a lot like yours! & we love it so much!! ❤🎄❤️🎄❤️🎄❤️🎄
We leave our tree up all year. Decorating it for each holiday! Easter, St. Patty's day, 4th of July, Veterans day, so on and of course Christmas! You only live once 🤣😂
I have 2 trees. In the family room the tree has a variety of ornaments collected over many years and the tree in dining room has gold ornaments. I love them both!
Our tree is all family ornaments. When I was a kid, my grandmother would give my sister and me an ornament each year. Now I get ornaments for our family of three every year that represent something special from the past year. So like this year we took our son to NYC for his 10th birthday so this year’s ornaments will be NY themed. I love a tree full of memories. I feel like it is so much more personable and enjoyable.
"It's Tina!" Of course! Love the ornaments, Kim. They are perfect. Most of mine are made of wood or are thrifted vintage glass balls. We make a star out of cardboard and cover it with aluminium foil and secure a toilet paper roll on the back so it slips over the tip of the tree! Lots of fun to see your family decorating. Meredith on the counter was a nice throw back.
43:31 Kim! Love that you’re getting a head start on the decorating! As far as the tree decor goes, we have two trees most years. One is our main tree that the kids help decorate and it is a mass of very old/homemade ornaments, think your stereotypical family tree. And then we have our other tree. This tree is dedicated to our family members in Heaven, it’s called our Angel tree. It has a color theme, and photos of those that we’ve lost over the years. It also has a ton of Angel ornaments to symbolize the angels no longer physically with us. The colors are usually gold/purple/green/white. Merry Christmas Kim! ❤❤
You are building wonderful memories for your kids. Traditions of goodies to eat and decorating the tree with whatever is meaningful for you! Our tree is fake from the big box store. We decorate our tree with our favorite things. We are always on the hunt for a fun ornament! Everything from a gold rat holding on to some tinsel to a wood carved bear taking a nap in a hammock! I love them all!
My trees (15), are magazine worthy every year, with the exception of one. Every year I change our theme and color. I have an entire room in the back of my garage full of Christmas. Last year was Grinch, this year it is winter wonderland. My colors are white, gold and silver. Decorating for Christmas is my passion! On the other hand my sisters tree is all collected ornaments from her entire life. I love the simplicity and meaning behind it all. The one tree that stays the same each year is my Packer tree! Go Pack Go! My beautiful green and gold.💛💚💛💚💛 Do what means the most to you, because in the end they are not going to remember the tree, they are going to remember the family times and celebrations together. Look how much fun you and your family had decorating.
I still decorate with our collection of ornaments gathered over the years. There is a twisted wire tree that my eldest daughter (now 32) made in year 3 that I love and she hates. I've told her that if she throws it out when I'm gone that I will come back and haunt her!! 😄 Also, a plaster shell with a paper clip hanger that my youngest daughter (now 30) made in pre school. Ornaments collected from holidays, just a hodge podge of love. 💜
We are team homely feel for the tree that is kid friendly and kid decorated. I never knew there were people where mom only decorates until I saw it on RUclips!
I’ve seen it a lot more lately. The moms do it all to make it look picture perfect. Screw that. My daughter is 20 and she still enjoys decorating the tree with me. I don’t touch the tree until she’s able to do that with me.
What Christmas mood provoking video!!!!🎄I loved all of it, Kim!🤶🏾 The decorating, the SUPER YUMMY snacks, and that gorgeous Christmas tree!!! I do two to three trees each year. One is all Halmark Ornaments. Another is traditional family ornaments with kid ornaments etc and cute ornaments like yours; with a Boho touch, and lastly a themed one that is usually Christian. Thank you for this inspiring Christmas mood video! HO, HO, HO!🤶🏾🎅🏻
Hi kim. My parents gave our kids an ornament each year and they had their special ornaments from trips and scouts and special events with the idea that when they left home they had ornaments for their tree. Now that my children are all out of the house it is fun to go to their houses and see their special ornaments on their trees. As grandma I have continued the tradition and give the grandchildren an ornament every year. We also have gi gerbread house decorating day. I get the houses from costco and they each decorate their own and I get them a gingerbread ornament and we play games. It is such a fun day!
Hi Kim, my tree was always filled with hodge podge ornaments. I loved it. I would always put my kids decorations on year after year. You tree is just perfect for you and your family. It does not have to be fancy. Just love.
We each choose a new decoration for our tree every year as a family tradition. So it’s very miss match perfection. We have a hamburger, a chicken nugget and Santa riding a vacuum as some of our highlights 😅 The kids love it and when they’re older and start their own family, I can hand them over their collection of decorations they chose throughout the years so they can carry on the tradition with their own families ❤
When my 6 kids were home, I unpacked the ornaments (each child received new ones each year)! I handed them their ornaments as I found them; as well as well the extra odd ones! I loved watching them decorate the tree and they loved it! We would have punch or hot chocolate and Christmas cookies! I miss kids being home to decorate my tree! Plus they have their own ornaments so mine were depleted as they left home!
My tree is full of decorations made by my kids 30 years ago, ones I have been gifted, ones I have bought and now my grandkids are making me ones. It is full of colour, life and memories. So not matching curated aat all . However the love in all of them is more than enough, makes me happy
I know I've said this before but Christmas trees are from families. Since I was a little girl our Christmas tree was filled of homemade, or specially bought ornaments. I still do that with my family today. We have a Harley Santa, Red Sox ornament, handmade from my husband's son, who is now 25. I love your tree!
Our tree is a hodge podge! We get a new ornament each year and my dad also buys us one each year plus home made ones by the kids! We have slowly built our decorations up over the last 12 years together and i love it ❤
When my boys were young our tree was always filled with their ornaments, the tree was always for them. Once they were grown and gone I was able to do my tree, white lights and matching bulbs. I still love both!! I love how you all put the ornaments on the tree!! Enjoy these times while you can!! Your ornaments are just adorable.
Team homey for my tree! Hodgepodge of ornaments collected over the years and even some old ones from my childhood I inherited from my parents. Putting up the tree is such a nostalgic experience as we reminisce where each ornament came from. Love those memories!
The first few years after marriage I had the perfect tree. Now with my kiddo we have a hodgepodge tree and we love it. We have ornaments I have gotten from older members of our family that hold memories for me and ornaments my daughter loves. I love my mismatch tree way more than “fancy” tree.
Our tree is a compilation of different ornaments, most are sentimental. My aunt always makes one for me and has since I was born. Now my kids get one and my husband and I get one together. My mom has also alway gotten me an ornament. When I got married I took all of the ones that were most meaningful (I could have taken all of them). I now get one for my husband and I each year and also one for each kiddo. They can take theirs when they get married and start their tree!
Tips: never buy a prelit tree. They always break no matter how expensive . Also, buy one strand of chaser lights to run up the middle for fun sparkle and then add the cheaper regular lights. For garland they make garland ties made out of greenery. Super easy and you can’t see them.
Our tree is filled with random ornaments ones my kids made at school to places we travel as a family. Some are silly like kids favorite cartoon characters. I love it more than the picture perfect trees. Plus my kids decorate the tree so the placement is fun to see
43:25 My husband and I have 3 young children (6,5,3) and my mom has gotten them Christmas ornaments every year since they’ve been born. She’s done it for all her grandkids. Plus we have the special made ones from the kids’ school, etc. We always put those on first as they’re the most special then fill with store bought matching ornaments. We’re definitely a mix of both worlds🤍
When the kids were little we had a traditional tree with the homemade and cutesy ornaments. They are now grown so I do a beautiful snowy winter tree that I would call diamonds and pearls. Very elegant, but then I'm a blingy girl. Happy Turkey Day❤
I always do 2 trees the bigger one is a "matchy matchy" ornaments and ribbon tree and the other is a smaller tree that we have all of the "special" ornaments on it (family, from school,etc.). I let the kids help with both and they love it
I have a tree that is matchy matchy for the formal livingroom and then the one in our family room is a combination of all the ornaments my children have gotten throughout their life times....every year got a new ornament plus whenever we vacationed they got one for the memory of that spot. Miss Heather :)
We buy one new ornament each year as a family and remove the filler balls that I've used to fill in the blank areas. By the time my kids are grown our tree will be covered in memories which is the goal.
Our tree gets decorated like yours…almost all the ornaments belong to someone in the family with something special attached to them…they don’t all look perfect and aesthetic…lol. But once the lights are on and the kids have helped decorate it’s just perfect. ❤
It's just my 22 y.o. daughter and myself in our home. We have narrowed it down to one little black goth tree with tiny red l.e.d. lights and a black star. Up in 5 minutes, down in 5 minutes like the 2 little grinches we are 😂
Our tree is a mix of bought and homemade ornaments. I try to get an ornament from each place we travel. Not Pinterest worthy but it is always beautiful to us. It means more because there are stories behind so many of our ornaments.
I’ve had hand me down ornaments and kid made/family ornaments on our tree since 2010. Until this year, this year I’ve gone very simplistic, but ONLY because we got a new tree from Costco, and it is just too gorgeous on its own to fully decorate. Next year, I’ll go back to the good ol kiddo and family ornaments though, bc I do miss seeing those tiny handprint ones, and all the family memory ones. Your tree is beautiful and looks so much like ours in past years! And next year 😉 I want our 2 boys to remember Christmas as traditions, not what’s “in”. ❤️ 😍
Our favorite tree is a hodge podge tree. It’s full of ornaments that my mother chose for us every year along with odds and ends. I used to put it up in a less seen part of my house to have a more beautiful put together looking tree but the last several years I’ve learned it’s a better tree!! We have fun recalling memories as we pull them out every year. It’s a tree that’s the story of our life together!❤️ Love yours!!
Hi Kim! Our tree is a mixture of things. It’s primarily a Disney themed tree with ornaments we have collected throughout the years. But I also have a good number of ornaments from my childhood mixed in. ❤
I was feeling overwhelmed with all the Thanksgiving prep, I turned you on and immediately, I felt so much better. I figured if you could do all that I can push through everything. The recipes look delicious. What a wonderful way to give present to your neighbors or even the guy that comes brings your Amazon boxes.i loved your family decorating the tree and festive, it was adorable. We do a very Vintage tree, including tinsel looks like a tree from the 50s, but we love it, all the Memories from the kids, their schools all go up on the tree.🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄
i have always loved the the trees that children get to help decorate. Trees like this warm the heart and bring a smill to my face. The more formal trees seem cold to me. I love years of mismatched ornaments where each one brings back a memory. I still have pink mini croched angels that my husband and I baught for our first Christmas I know they are over 58 years old because we would have celebrated 58 years if he were still here. Your tree is lovely and warm
Spending the holidays with the Party People and Mrs. WHISK!! We have always had a traditional tree with old ornaments that are precious and must go on the tree ever year. I never do a curated or themed tree. 😊❤
Yay!🤸♀️ It's the most wonderful time🎄 of the year.. and we get to know all that🤩 Kim is up to. A double treat for all of us, Party People. 🎉 Love the decorations and delicious recipes. Soo much fun. Thanks Kim.❤❤❤
I love Christmas decor and definitely think it can be up before thanksgiving but you are hosting and has such cute pieces in the bathrooms love the Christmas too
Hodgepodge tree here! That’s how I grew up, and that’s the tradition I’ve continued with my own family. Every year I give my kids and my husband a new ornament. It’s fun to look back and see what the kids were into when they were younger. They are now 19 and 22, and we all still decorate together. The garland on the stairs looks great, Kim! Maybe if you get a tree for the upstairs, you could position it makes up for the space without garland.
We decorate with old family ornaments, homemade and some new.. I put a ribbon around the tree and have a silver star on top… I feel like it’s classic Christmas style.. def not fancy but I love it!🎄
Absolutely a matching, color themed tree here. I grew up with the opposite, but from a pretty early age I’ve always been really averse to them & absolutely don’t want the mismatched “sentimental” tree for myself.
I’m right with you on the tree!! I love homely. I also get thrifted ornaments they are so cute cuz they look vintage. And I also have ornaments from when I was a kid and also from places I’ve travelled.
Kim, our tree looks like an explosion in a tinsel factory and I wouldn’t change it for the world. There are ornaments on it from when I was little and I am 74 years young. Way to go with the ornaments the mire the better, love you and your wonderful family❤️🤩
Homely feel! Love it. All the oldies that the kids made and all the many years of ornaments, we love them all! As my father would say blessings on you!! Pam
I have a tree like yours but my ornaments are from over the years and lots of snowmen! Any tree decorated especially by children is beautiful! Love the jarred gifts. I am going to make the pecans. Happy holidays
Move one piece of the garland over to the right at the top of the stairs (balcony) and add a wreath in the middle to cover the slack. You wouldn’t even know it isn’t long enough 😉
@@AllisonZ7 that's actually a really good idea 👍👍
Ooooh nice move!!
Happy Thnaksgiving week friend!!!
I was actually going to say to add a wreath at the end but your idea is much better 😂❤️

We got our tree from Costco 10 years ago. I think we paid $300. All the lights still work and it still looks great. We love it.
Our tree is a collection of ornaments made, bought and given, so many memories. I can’t imagine doing a themed tree.
We have a hamburger, a chicken nugget and Santa riding a vacuum as some of our highlights 😅
The kids love it and when they’re older and start their own family, I can hand them over their collection of decorations they chose throughout the years so they can carry on the tradition with their own families ❤
I love the trees with homemade ornaments and special ones collected over the years. I call them memory trees. Happy Holidays!
Awe... Tina!! My heart exploded when you said that! What a perfect Angel!
Good morning, everyone!
Morning! Have a great day! Coffee & Kim making holiday treats. Does it get any better? 🤶
Good evening here 😊 nearly 11pm, have a great day!
We have a cultivated tree but we add our favorite family ornaments and favorite collected ornaments. It's a beautiful mash up. ❤️🎄🎁
Our tree is homely. It is filled with ornaments from my childhood, ornaments my children have made and ornaments we've acquired as a family.
Our tree is full of ornaments that have memories and truly mean something ☺️ it may not be fancy shmancy but it is so beautiful to me ❤
We have ornaments accumulated over decades and they have sentimental meaning. We tell the stories and laugh a lot when putting them on.
Tips: never buy a prelit tree. They always break no matter how expensive . Also, buy one strand of chaser lights to run up the middle for fun sparkle and then add the cheaper regular lights.
For garland they make garland ties made out of greenery. Super easy and you can’t see them.
Our tree is hodgepodge and I love it. I get ornaments when we travel and I get to enjoy so many memories decorating my tree.
Tree like yours.... a mix of homemade, vintage, and from special travels and life events. So many memories. Love it!
I do 3 specialized trees and one with all the fun homemade ornaments going back about 52 years. Love them all still.
We love a variety of collected ornaments….all different colors, sizes and categories. Love homemade
Aw … I love at the end how you said the Angel on the top of the tree is your sister Tina💕
It's just my 22 y.o. daughter and myself in our home. We have narrowed it down to one little black goth tree with tiny red l.e.d. lights and a black star. Up in 5 minutes, down in 5 minutes like the 2 little grinches we are 😂
Such a good idea for coworker and delivery driver gifts. Definitely making a few of these this year.
Hodge-podge tree, all the way! I love when each ornament has a story behind it. ❤
Yes! I watched the Browns beat the Steelers on Thursday night. It was awesome!!!
Our Christmas tree is made up of all homemade and memories over the years. My kids (12 and 16) love and appreciate the tradition! ♡
Good morning party people! 😊
Kim , you already having me in stitches!!!
Laura and Ava 🌹😊
i have always loved the the trees that children get to help decorate.
Love the decorations and delicious recipes. Soo much fun. Thanks Kim.❤❤❤
We definitely have a "homely" hodge podge tree. Lots of handprint ornaments, ornaments that represent different seasons of life, etc.
Years ago my tree had to be perfect, but now I let my grandkids decorate it and I love it. I love your vlogs and your beautiful family.
We decorate with old family ornaments, homemade and some new.. I put a ribbon around the tree and have a silver star on top… I feel like it’s classic Christmas style.. def not fancy but I love it!🎄
Hi Kim all the snacks look delicious. The tree turned out great love all the homemade ornaments. Have a great weekend 💖🎄🌴
Absolutely a matching, color themed tree here. I grew up with the opposite, but from a pretty early age I’ve always been really averse to them & absolutely don’t want the mismatched “sentimental” tree for myself.
My Christmas tree is like yours all the sentimental ornaments. It is how our tree was all while growing up as well.❤❤❤
The best thing to wake up to - a holiday Kimberly whisk video!!
I’m right with you on the tree!! I love homely. I also get thrifted ornaments they are so cute cuz they look vintage. And I also have ornaments from when I was a kid and also from places I’ve travelled.
You are always such a vibe! I love it 🫶🏾
Love colorful, meaningful old ornaments too
I do the black and red buffalo check theme now ( I'm a grandmother), but when my kids were little, it was a hod podge with kid made ornaments.
Pam
Happy Thanksgiving party people and Wads Family! I hope you all have a beautiful day with loved ones. God bless from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷🫂❤️
I have a tree like yours but my ornaments are from over the years and lots of snowmen! Any tree decorated especially by children is beautiful! Love the jarred gifts. I am going to make the pecans. Happy holidays
