- This is our family cover version of Mike Oldfield's Dark Island it was a joint venture by my brother, my son and myself during a trip back to the UK.
"The Dark Island" is a Scottish song; the original music was written by Iain Maclachlan in 1958. This version is a cover version of Mike Oldfield's arrangement.
I hope you enjoy our version. - Видеоклипы
I am Scottish, I absolutely love this version, of probably my favourite Scottish song.
Thanks everyone for your kind words
Magic. A beautiful piece.
Love this
The air was originally called "Dr Mackay's Farewell to Creagorry" by its composer, Iain MacLachlan about 1958. David Silver of Glasgow wrote the most common and famous words to the theme after the TV series appeared.
Thank you for adding some interesting history about this beautiful piece of music Liz.

I prefer Alexander bros accordion version but as an Oldfield fan I have no complaints about any of the musical gems the great man interprets, Flowers of the Forest is another spine tingling beautifully worked arrangement by Mike Oldfield.
