Thad be Me
Thank you very helpful
Thank you Will!! Loving all your videos more and more!! 😄💟💞🙏
One more thing I forgot to mention in this video (very important): Make sure you MOVE when you play something like this... You can't groove while standing still! :-)
🤦♂️ Ohh fu... That's what I forgot 😉
Indeed!
So dedicated, Will, if half humanity were as you are with the harmonica, there'd be a way much better world. Congratulations!
Thanks Sandra!
You really nailed the timbre Alan Wilson is using on the record. Props.
I'm an old player who learned most of the tricks back in my youth in the late 60s playing along with bands like Canned Heat. I always played for pleasure. But tongue blocking is something I never learned about. So I'm having trouble getting it. But I always learn something new from your videos. Thanks.
Simple, Deep, Beautiful,great Vid,Thank You
Love that song ! ❤️🔥✊
It's a good one! :-)
I liked your On the Road Again video. Super excited to find this one. Thanks 🙏
Thanks, great drill.
Great lesson
Thank you Will! Very very cool.
Glad you liked it!
Hey Will, how long have you been playing and how many hours on average a day did you practice. I am taking your Solo course and practicing at least 4 hours a day and get a little frustrated but heck I am 66 and have no where to be so here I am. Thanks for all your help.
Can you do the rest of the tune.. it's really cool .. Jason Ricci did a couple of vids on it ... Thanks class vid
Excellent 👍💥😎
thank you Will.

Will Wilde Live Streaming. This is awesome ! Hope it works out well and we see more of this in the future.
Thanks Al!
this is awesome !
Great Video Will! This is so so much trickier than it sounds!! Getting the 3 Draw bend whilst tongue blocking is a challenge!
Génial will
Good one. Thanks Will.
Thanks!
Hell yea!
Show féra 👏
Bomb!
Great will as always thaks mate, what a groove.
Merci
Amazing mate
Using blow 3 all the time seems to work and sound percussive.
I wonder would this grove sound good being played in the key of A?
usefull!
Great post will I bin listening to hooker and the brilliant alan Wilson burning and Erie awesome raga kafi love to learn this song any chance playing this one thanks Will
It's a great album! I may do another track from it one day.
Good video Will. I’ve been working on it and it was pretty hard at first but at this point I think I’ve got it down pretty good. It’s definitely way more difficult than it seems like it would be haha.
Question: Is the COMPLETE exercise played tongue blocked? Including the 3 draw (wich would be awesome hard but not impossible!)hs bend and the 4 blow?
I'm doing the whole thing tongue blocked here. You get a consistent tongue blocked toned this way and you can add the slaps to all the notes, but there's nothing wrong with just doing the slaps on the 2 draw and and switching to pucker for the other notes if you prefer.
@willharmonicawilde Thanks Will! I will practice it both ways... Easy to hard... Tongue slaps from the beginning, thats vital I think, pucker the bend and tongue block 4 blow to start with. Thanks for your tips on breathing because this will be a problem I think! btw I love your playing! I wrote it in a different comment already. Like a brick wall sound, passionate and soulful! Keep on!
Hi Will, thanks for lesson. It is so difficult to keep this riff going. I'm lucky if i get through 12 bars!
You're ahead of me.
Great stuff, as usual, Will!
Gotta love Blind Owl! Hey Will have you tried the new Seydel Lighting? Would be cool to see you do a review on that instrument. Do you know if they plan to release low octave versions of it? It looks like a beautiful harp. Don't know how the "polished reeds" change the sound or longevity but it would be cool to hear your opinion. Thanks for the Canned Heat video. Love those guys.
Blind Owl is a legend! Not tried the Lightning yet but it looks interesting. I will see if Seydel can send me one for review.
Its 3 in the morning here but this was well worth getting up to watch! Will would you suggest any slight riff changes between the 2 and chord sequence just to keep things interesting? If so, what?
Awesome, glad it was worthwhile. To answer your question... Nope! :-) There are endless licks and variations that you COULD throw in to this, but I think maintaining and sitting on this one groove for the whole song is much more effective (in the case of this track at least). Apart from the solo, the harp is effectively part of the rhythm section in this song. It's a good discipline to be able to sit on a groove without budging (especially for 11 minutes!) most players can't do it.
@@willharmonicawilde I understand what you mean. It seems like a great exercise for breath control and timing. Cheers mate.
Great vid Will...would it be fair to say that this riff and tongue blocking in general comes across way better when amplified, assuming you have T/B technique nailed?
Thanks mate. Yes, the percussive 'thud' becomes more prominent when amplified. Especially through something like a Fender Bassman, you will really feel the air move!
The guy has to breath out someplace. Right? Is that on the blow note?
Thanks Will 😊
Do you have any more tips on the stamina?
Is tongue blocking changing the way the jaw moves/shape compare to puckering?
Hi Chloe. The jaw doesn't really need to move at all to create this shuffle rhythm with the tongue. Doing it the "cheat" pucker way will mean your jaw is moving up and down as you switch between chord and single note. If you are struggling with breath stamina check out this video: ruclips.net/video/lQfLPn1TkzY/видео.html
I just now went and checked it out, and I'm thinking WHEN IS HE EXHALING?!? Hahaha Blind Owl was the most, man. Thanks for this great lesson!
Hahaha yeah the Blind Owl was a legend, a very unique player and very underrated in my opinion.
If you are struggling with running out of breath, I have two videos on that: ruclips.net/video/lQfLPn1TkzY/видео.html AND ruclips.net/video/zKbBl3xRtfU/видео.html
How do you hit that quick vibrato on the /3? It sounds so smooth.
It's a throat vibrato. I have a video on that.
@@willharmonicawilde thanks for the reply. I’ve seen that video and have been trying to learn the throat vibrato but it eludes me. I always end up with the diaphragm vibrato, I can’t seem to get the throat to work.
No way that’s exciting premieres in 92 minutes didn’t even know that. Was a thing and that’s exciting. Lol exciting
Can you try help me by canned heat? I can’t find any tutorials on it
Question: Does your tongue stay on the harp for the 3D/-4B-3D/?
Good question. Yes it does
@@willharmonicawilde My problem is I'm so used to puckering that at that point I take my tongue away and pucker the 3D/. Any suggestions besides lots of practice?
@@willharmonicawilde if it stays on during the 3-4-3, how do you keep the chugging sound going? It sounds like the tongue slapping doesn’t stop.
What guitar key is this in? D?
Song's in A. D harp 2nd Position
@@willharmonicawilde thanks
2:30 !!!
Who the hell. I go crazy with that tongue 😱👅🚫
Hahahaha!
