    At 2:35 what's that part that's directly north of the grommet that holds the plastic cover on? Mine lookstobe leaking oil. Need to know name of the part please.

      I hate to say it but I'm not sure what that part is. Based on where it is I would guess maybe an oil sending unit or something but I really don't know. I would go out and check but we traded that car in .

      @@JasonEngelTheWub I cant figure it out either. People keep saying vvt solenoid which is pretty much the same as an oil sending unit yeah? I cant find the part online to replace it. No part I find is shaped like that. Always one bolt. Never 2 bolts in diamond shape. I appreciate the reply back anyways man

    Did you ever figure out what is causing the oil consumption issue?

    • @JasonEngelTheWub
      @JasonEngelTheWub  8 месяцев назад

      No. Unfortunately, not. I fought with Kia for a few weeks to cover it under warranty and then ended up giving in and buying a new car. I traded that in. I was honest about the problem. Ended up with getting several thousand under the KBB value. That whole Kia trip was a waste. The company should be ashamed for putting out such crappy engines and not standing behind them. I think there will be a recall on those motors, if there isn't already. It'll take a lawsuit or two but they'll give in.

    Thanks for this! Did this actually help your oil consumption?

    • @JasonEngelTheWub
      @JasonEngelTheWub  Год назад +1

      Unfortunately it did not. I've learned a little more about this since then and it appears to be a notorious problem with these engines. To make matters worse, we had scheduled our service call with @kia when we only had about 5K miles left on the warranty. I made it very clear that we're almost out of warranty and I need this issue to be documented. Well, they finally got us in when we were 200 miles over and now they refuse to cover it.
      I intend to make a big deal about this and at least be very loud all over the internet.
      I've also learned about something called an oil catch can. I think there are various aftermarket OCC that might work well to resolve this oil consumption problem.

      @@JasonEngelTheWubin the end what ended up being the issue? I have the same problem on my Kia Sorento.

    • @JasonEngelTheWub
      @JasonEngelTheWub  Год назад +1

      @@christinaserbellon1235 this isn't resolved yet. I've been fighting with Kia to honor the warranty (since I reported it well before the warranty ended and the only reason we were over is because they were several months backed up).
      We have an appointment with the local dealer this week to look at this. I'll let you know what they find...if they find something.

    Calling it PCV is this the same as ocv and what is the part number and price

    • @JasonEngelTheWub
      @JasonEngelTheWub  Год назад

      I purchased mine from here: www.kia.parts/
      Part Number Part Name Price Quantity Total
      26740-3C500 PCV Valve $16.00 1 $16.00
      By the way, this did not stop our oil consumption problem. I'm still working on that. I think we have a bigger problem.

      @@russellgentry3383 well, since I've been telling the story on social media, Kia has reached out to me with an indication that they'll take care of it. I don't know if they will or not but I'll post an update here if they do. It's only right for them to take care of it since the problem started before the warranty was over and the only reason we went over is because they couldn't see for several months.

      @@russellgentry3383 Kia still refusing to fix this. Even though I took all of my early oil changes to them, they claim that I missed the first (100,000 miles ago) and so they won't cover it. It's really convenient that they lost that first record. Unfortunately, I didn't keep hard copies because I assumed the dealer would keep good records on the computer (silly me). I'm considering a lawsuit now.

      @@JasonEngelTheWub That’s crazy! I have heard it kind of depends on the dealer. Some don’t even look for or ask for oil change proof while others want 3 4 5 changes back. Not that this exempts Kia themselves from being at fault or involved though.
